What’s the holy grail of sports bras for big boobs?

ShirleyPhallus · 14/02/2019 15:02

Please?

I think the one Oti wears has been recommended here before but can’t find it now

34F if that makes a difference

Also 34F, i wear the Shock Absorber Run Bra (the one with the clip at the back), but in a 36D. It fits differently to s normal bra, and I find the 36d fits much better.

I have tried the panache sports bra, hated it, it fitted very badly on me.

MorrisZapp · 16/02/2019 12:39

I have huge boobs and plenty of money. I have given up on all the bras mentioned so far because not one of them has strap clips at the back.

I have two sports bras I got from primark ten years ago which I use all the time. There's no magic to the shape or fit, but the straps clip together, right up at my neck. This is the only thing that prevents bounce for me.

The other ones clip between the shoulders, it's too low.

If anyone spots any bras out there with clippable straps high up, for the love of god let me know!

MorrisZapp · 16/02/2019 12:41

And I tried using a clip on ordinary bras, hopeless.

AnotherEmma · 16/02/2019 12:44

Shock Absorber

@floribunda18
Is your teenage daughter really a 32A? I would have thought 28/30 would be a more likely back size for a teenager (unless she is tall and broader than the average teen, and wearing women's size 12 tops or bigger)

StellaMorris · 16/02/2019 12:47

Have you tried these clips MorrisZapp? I use them to add bust support to my swimming costume. Although this Shock Absorber bra has a clip at the back by the neck.

StellaMorris · 16/02/2019 12:49

Sorry, wrong links

ShabbyAbby · 16/02/2019 12:50

Shock absorber

MorrisZapp · 16/02/2019 12:51

Great links er, Morris :)

Can you do the clip thing yourself? Mine are lurking in a drawer because I couldn't work out how to put them on.

TheEndofIt · 16/02/2019 13:02

Freya Epic Active (style AA04) - great for running & I'm a 34FF.

I was fitted for a Shock Absorber but the sizing is just odd - nowhere near my usual.

BellaNgo · 16/02/2019 14:17

Hi @floribunda,
t
I suggest ordering one in your everyday size and order a sister size with a bigger band to see. For instance, order a 34F and 36E. High-impact sportsbra tend to be a lot tighter compared to medium-support. Boobydoo is a good place to browse.

StellaMorris · 16/02/2019 15:14

MorrusZapp with plastic links, I put one side on my strap before I put it on, then hook the other side through, the. Slide it up to where I want it to be.

apparentlyso · 16/02/2019 20:55

Big boobs here. I use an Enell with a normal full cup underwire bra underneath for extra support and to try and help with the uni-boob sweatiness.
I'm thinking off a boob reduction mostly to make exercising more enjoyable as I love lots of forms of exercise but hate the way my boobs hold me back not as much as I'd like to think! Grin

Averysmallcasserole · 16/02/2019 22:18

It bloody hurts if you don’t wear something which holds them in!! What kind of crazy is saying it’s cosmetic ? Madness
Thanks for the shock absorber in weird colour tip. Found a bargain!

Mrs9C · 16/02/2019 22:32

Shock Absorber (32F), keeps everything in place

GoodGirlsGuide · 16/02/2019 22:38

I --second third fourth the vote for shock absorber sports bras. I wear a 32F and run in the gym. I see so many ladies --and men breasts bouncing up and down and mine don’t move an inch..! I recommend a size smaller than you wear in a bra for maximum ‘hold’.

GoodGirlsGuide · 16/02/2019 22:41

My strike throughs didn’t work in my previous post Sad

UbercornsGoggles · 16/02/2019 22:56

I'm a 38FF and recently bought this one in Debenhams www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_150010202762_-1. It's great - very supportive and gives a great shape - no monoboob unlike every other sports bra I've ever tried. The shape is so good I'm considering wearing it with a dress I've got for a posh do.

winnerwiner · 16/02/2019 23:10

Just to throw another choice into the mix, I love the Victoria’s Secret one. Front fastening which is great as just putting on a bra over my head was putting me off exercise, it has sort of a double bra thing going on for extra support so you fasten one bit then zip up the rest of it. Am in Canada but I think you can get them in the uk. I am not so fond of their ordinary bras, but the sports ones last, I guess people have different shapes so it’s worth trying a few.. www.victoriassecret.ca/victorias-secret-sport/sport-bra-types/incredible-knockout-ultra-max-by-victoria-sport-front-close-sport-bra-victoria-sport?ProductID=430061&CatalogueType=OLS

Namechange170518 · 16/02/2019 23:18

Enell. I'm a 46HH and it works for me :)

emilybrontescorsett · 17/02/2019 09:33

My favourite is panache but I do have shock absorbed too.
They are tight fitting but I think that's how They are supposed to be.

KatharinaRosalie · 17/02/2019 09:52

GoodGirl you go smaller? Have you been fitted for your regular bras recently? Because most people find that Shock absorbers fit very small. Just to show, I normally wear 30 back size. On the photo is a Shock Absorber Run in size 32 and Freya regular bra in 30 - both relatively new so not stretched out or anything. There's no way I could wear the Shock absorber in 30, never mind 28.

GoodGirlsGuide · 17/02/2019 14:52

KatharinaRosalie - you’re absolutely right; mine are larger than my bra size. I bought them so long ago I’d completely forgotten it was a size up. I wear 32F bras and have 34F shock absorbers although I could’ve done with a larger cup size too. I could do with a new one so will get remeasured too as I’ve lost weight recently so may need another size. Sorry to OP for any unintentional confusion I may have been a bit drunk when I posted Wink

tierraJ · 17/02/2019 15:25

I'm a 34G I have an underwired high impact sports bra from M&S but it's so old now, I need a new one but don't want to spend over £25 on a new one as I'm changing shape due to dieting & exercise.... not sure what to do

TheEndofIt · 17/02/2019 16:03

@tierraJ - I buy mine from eBay - usually end of line stock in my size, new with tags.

The Freya AA04 active epic bra can be as little as £23-30 (rather than 40)

But you need to know your size first.
