What's everyone's opinion on 'glass skin'

So it looks like matte everything (apart from ridiculous highlight!) is out and glossy is in. I have seen lots of talk about 'glass skin' and on Instagram Katie Jane Hughes (who is so beautiful) seems to be the go to for this?

What do people think? I think KJH does make it look fabulous, but it looks like it's really difficult to get right and that most people who attempt it will look like they have dipped their face in a vat of oil. I don't know, I like a bit of powder to set everything, but I also quite like the dewy look.

If you go in for it, do you have any tips or advice about products or getting it right?

Not my cup of tea but I prefer it to the heavily contoured thick eyebrow shiny nose look younger everywhere these days, so I'll be quite happy if it filters down to the young'uns. Also I've been wearing Vaseline on my eyelids for decades so I guess I'm ahead of the times!

Christ no. She looks like she's been on the running machine in full make-up.

I don't think it looks full on oil slick but it does look a bit like the shine one gets working out before a full on sweat.

I have dry skin (currently using EA8hr gel as moisturiser and under makeup!), it would just drink this up.
