And in case you get bored of the royals or they're having a quiet week, here's the Celebrity S&G thread!

Remember, let's critique the clothes without getting too personal about the wearers.

They do look so happy together.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:04

Favourite bafta gown?

Falafel19 · 10/02/2019 22:06

I don't like that dress at all, it's just like a dull wedding or graduation dress to me! And I usually love her style so I'm surprised (not sure if it's at myself or at Kate!).

Also, they are definitely two different dresses in the side by side green/blue debate.

UrsulaPandress · 10/02/2019 22:06

I like the first, Grecian style.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/02/2019 22:08

They're all pretty similar and Grecian except for the Erdem, which would've looked better had it sat a bit higher. She needed to give it a good hoik!

Her eyebrows do seem a teensy bit higher than normal

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:09

For loving looks, you can’t beat this one.
Amazing how they manage to have their private moments; even in a crowd.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 10/02/2019 22:09

I would have killed to wear a dress like that at my graduation Grin. I see what you mean but I love it.

The second Bafta dress is my fave though, the black floral one. Very different.

Obloodyhell · 10/02/2019 22:09

Here is some footage. Why does Kate not have any flesh rolls when she sits down Envy

Baftas

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:10

Yes, I was thinking that about the Erdem. Still my favourite.
She perseveres with that label, but it’s a hard one for her to carry off.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/02/2019 22:10

She got the tone spot on for the hospital steps appearance after George's birth - simple dress, minimal makeup.

Erdem is a bit of a marmalade label. I liked this one (though I'd have removed the ruffle towards the bottom) but loathed this chartreuse horror.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:15

To be honest; I’d be hard pressed to think of many times Kate got it wrong.

Mustard Erdem in Sweden.
She is 99% impeccable

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:17

Your link didn’t work @queen but we’re both talking about this one....

AFifthOfKoolAid · 10/02/2019 22:19

Oh wow I've not seen that yellow one before, it's hideous. Even worse than that pale blue 80s prom aesthetic she went for at that recent state dinner.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 10/02/2019 22:20

She even looks sad to be wearing it there, Curly! I agree though, I rarely dislike her clothes, especially evening. I'd never wear a coat dress myself but I think she usually looks lovely.

TheCraicDealer · 10/02/2019 22:21

Love the dress, hair, accessories, make-up- just right. Yes McQueen or Jenny Packham dresses don't come cheap, but it's the BAFTAs. Those type of events and state dinners are where spending £££ on an outfit makes more sense.

Totally agree re. the Botox though. I saw this photo earlier and was taken aback at the eyebrows/car woman look. She's a stunning woman, she doesn't need it.

VanillaSugarr that advert was filmed in the church I got married in Grin

The skirt of the dress is very like the skirt of my wedding dress. I wanted one that swished and swayed.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 10/02/2019 22:23

Kate, tiers and floral satin just do not go.

She’s a pale chiffon girl, every time.

ThanksItHasPockets · 10/02/2019 22:25

I very much doubt that Kate will wear Marchesa again any time soon. Far too toxic for a royal.

TheCraicDealer · 10/02/2019 22:25

Is that Erdem as well Curly? Wtf is it with them and hems like fucking valence sheets?

AFifthOfKoolAid · 10/02/2019 22:27

Eugenie wore Erdem for her engagement announcement, right? She suits a bold pattern.

AFifthOfKoolAid · 10/02/2019 22:27

FiveTwoFaster · 10/02/2019 22:29

They do have such star quality- everyone is just beaming when they come in, in that lovely footage posted. And being beamed at by them. It’s nice.

QueenOfTheAndals · 10/02/2019 22:31

I'd already forgotten about the prom dress! I agree with whoever said ice blue is not her colour. She looks best in warm autumnal tones.
