Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

By the way, if you have dry hands this is amazing. My hands are shot to pieces with all the washing at work but we recommend this to patients and I’ve been using it too.

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/02/2019 12:04

I think you are right queenc. I had seen this leopard print cardigan and thought it looked good and would be a handy piece, but I just didn’t like the fabric. It felt like it would bobble after 1 wash. I would rather pay £40 for something better made than £25 for something that misses the mark. I like dresses with sheer sleeves for spring like this dress. I’ve got this print and the navy one and have worn them both loads. You can even wear a jumper over the top and pull out the dress sleeve at the bottom if it’s chilly. They’re good because sometimes you want your arm covered but don’t want to wear a cardigan and a top. Thanks for the recommendation on the hand cream. My hands are so dry too. I try others but always revert back to the neutrogena one, but this one sounds good.

Wet and windy here today.

QueenCerise · 08/02/2019 13:47

Wet and windy here too. Forgot a hood and so my haircut is absolutely ruined walking from the hairdressers to the car!! I’m siting on my drive as I’ve can’t even face the small walk to the front door Grin

MarshaBradyo · 09/02/2019 07:29

I don’t suppose anyone has a book recommendation?

Also has anyone booked Europe for April? I keep almost booking something then remembering Brexit

VivaVegas · 09/02/2019 07:48

I'm not reading anything at the moment Marsha but need to as I spend too much time in my phone!
I am hoping to go to Spain in the Easter holidays, not booked flights yet but that's more to do with apathy than Brexit 😂
Lying in bed listening to the wind howling outside, sounds awful.

FedupNagging · 09/02/2019 08:37

You're right Mara I do already own a BBB (cost me 15€ in Spain a few years ago). I'm after a daytime holiday bag as bored of the one I've been using since 2015!

I totally agree with the M&S comments - some fab styles but fabric feels terrible. Some of the knitwear is nice but I really don't need anymore jumpers atm.

Marsha I'll send you a pm.

Have a busy day today which includes lots of eating out and a visit to a boutique type shop so need to get my ass out of bed!

Thanks Fedup you’re a star

Viva yep want to break the habit too, (except this thread!)

maradesbois · 09/02/2019 09:36

Fedup sounds strenuous!

Marsha have you read Sally Rooney? I loved Normal People and taking Conversations with Friends on holiday. She’s been a bit hyped but I love her writing nonetheless.

Vegas Easter sun sounds lovely. Need to book Europe flights too. Am hoping for great weather as Easter is pretty late.

MarshaBradyo · 09/02/2019 12:49

No I haven’t brilliant thanks Mara will download Flowers

Stokey · 09/02/2019 23:03

Marsha think Europe is a bit touch and go over Easter. We had quite a wet time in Lisbon last year and have also had terrible weather in Costa del Sol.

You may be better off waiting till May half term or going further afield. Or just accepting the weather as going for a city break? Lisbon was amazing even though the weather was a bit hit and miss.

I wouldn't worry about Brexit, they'll get enough legislation through to make sure everything keeps running, in terms of flights etc.

Sally Rooney is a great call, I also loved Milkman by Anna Burns which won the Booker but it's possibly a bit Marmite. Have you read The Dry? Aussie detective book. Also for something lightweight, I quite enjoyed Lily Allen's autobiography .

MarshaBradyo · 10/02/2019 07:45

True Stokey re weather. Yes I loved The Dry, then I read the next one Force of Nature, both really good. Will download the other one Flowers

FedupNagging · 12/02/2019 12:56

Gosh it's very quiet in here at the moment. Hope everyone is ok?

Can I tempt you back with some nice pictures?

The jumpsuit is from Jigsaw - Shop I think you're after a jumpsuit?

The green s/s dress is also Jigsaw and a bargain in the sale.

The last dress is by Dea Kadibul (I think), not my style but some pretty patterns that would suit Mara and possibly Marsha

Yes Fedup. It's really quite quiet.

I love the pattern on the blue shirt.

I frantically trying to pack for trip on Saturday but at the same time happily playing with the knitting needles. I'm really enjoying making baby clothes.

They're lovely Dream - love the little booties with the fringing.

Amazing knitting skills Dream 👏

Really like that dress Fedup

Feeling a bit meh stylewise. Maybe it's this time of year, and having been ill. Feel like I've been wearing jeans and jumper on repeat for weeks, and I'm not even that keen on any of my jeans. Need things to warm up so I can ditch some layers. Just sent back all the Boden and J-Crew stuff I ordered last week. Closest thing I came to buying were similar to these wide trousers but they were too long.

QueenCerise · 13/02/2019 20:33

This new job is playing havoc with my mumsnet time Grin

dream those are amazing!
stokey I’m with you on feeling meh. Can’t wait to get back into cropped jeans as they just look better on me.

Hoping the weather warms up for the mu as it’s only in 2 weeks!

Stokey · 13/02/2019 22:31

Hope the new job is going well QueenC

I didn't realise MU was so soon.

Has anyone returned to J Crew? Seems like you can only take it back to the store, which is a PITA. Or pay the shipping charges to the US. Don't think I'll order from there again.

Golden0ldie · 13/02/2019 22:58

QueenCerise, delurking to say you really made me smile with your link to the Udderly Smooth cream. My DF was a vet and 30 years ago used the original cow’s udder cream on his hands, and swore by it. I had no idea there is now a ‘human’ version but will order some to see how it deals with my chapped knuckles.

MarshaBradyo · 14/02/2019 00:44

Hello from Aus! Staying with a friend atm and seeing lots of school and university friends. So good!!

Flight was ok, long but business took the sting out, and jet lag is much better

Just posting to say big love more soon

libertyonhertravels · 14/02/2019 03:49

Good to hear jet lag isn't too bad Marsha. I'm just back from dropping my mum and brother to the airport. Has been so lovely having them here. Feeling very sad now.

Nice pics fedup and love the baby knitting dream. I'm knitting a cardigan for DD ATM.

I'm not feeling it with clothes either - must have a browse and get some autumn/winter inspiration.

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/02/2019 15:12

Great knitting dream. Have a good trip.

stokey sorry to hear all your recent purchases weren’t keepers. How annoying about J Crew returns.

Glad you had a nice time with your family lib.

Have a great trip marsha. Enjoy the sun!

I’m so annoyed with m&s. Can you believe that after 1 wear, the hem has unravelled on that jersey skirt I bought. I know it wasn’t overall great quality, but even I can’t believe how bad it was. Now it means another trip it take it back....so annoying.

Got a date night with DH tomorrow. Just somewhere local and low key so will probably wear one of my leather skirts and a jumper.

The only thing I’ve been tempted by recently is this ghost skirt. I quite like the nod towards the zebra trend and the material , making it ok for warmer times as well as at the moment. But you know when you’re not sure if you’re just buying something to buy something, because I don’t really need it. I’ll think about it (but we all know that probably means I will have md up buying it and then returning it Grin).

Thinking of you shop.

Don’t know if you are lurking amber but I saw that oasis have loads of lobster print tops : long sleeve breton, cream jumper and navy jumper. Looks like you were ahead of the curve again Grin.

Stokey · 14/02/2019 18:47

Have an amazing time Marsha

Sorry you're a bit lonely Lib, hard when people leave after holiday.

I really like that Ghost skirt Fedup, think I need to go shopping for inspiration.

There was a thing on boiler suits in Stylist today and I thought of Shop. Can really see you in this red Finery one.

Stokey · 14/02/2019 18:48

Sorry Everyone for the Ghost skirt!

DryWhiteagainW · 14/02/2019 22:47

Dream what lovely knits, you’re very clever.
Golden I love it when a lurker comes out. Smile

My course is intense....really effecting my MN and shopping time. But I have a little purchase, don’t get over excited.....
