Christmas and the sales are sadly over but winter is still here for a few months yet.

Come and show us your cosy knits and woolly hats whilst we dream of summer - everyone welcome, the more the merrier.

MarshaBradyo · 09/05/2019 16:05

I want to love it but needs to be perfect for that price

FedupNagging · 09/05/2019 16:09

MarshaBradyo · 09/05/2019 16:13

Haha I know I said it in the wrong post Grin in shoe pic

And her cardigan is the same colour as the scarf!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/05/2019 17:22

Love DD's cardigan Grin

I am not sure about the suede bit on the trainers, sorry. Makes them look like they're neither "white trainers" nor "sports trainers" to me.

Need virtual hugs please - it's DS's first full day at nursery today :( I know it will take time for everything to adjust, but it's hard in the meantime. Just such a long day, and he hasn't slept enough so got overtired. DH is picking him up in 10 mins (it's near my office and I am not there today - typical great timing, though I did drop off)

shopafrolic · 09/05/2019 18:00

Oh Blair it's tough but he'll soon settle. miniShop used to cry so badly when I dropped him off and then I'd peer through the windows 2 minutes later and he'd be fine.
Sending a big hug xx

MarshaBradyo · 09/05/2019 19:34

Blair big hug from me. It’s so hard, I hated doing it with my older two and they cried a lot Sad

MarshaBradyo · 09/05/2019 19:35

But probably perked up after I’d gone, but still hard

DryWhiteagainW · 09/05/2019 20:07

Lovely Marsha and the little hand! And I so love Matches boxes, can’t throw them away.

DryWhiteagainW · 09/05/2019 20:16

Honestly Blair separation at nursery will be worse for you than DS....I have only experienced one child in 15ish years that wouldn’t settle, they have this knack of crying and clinging which makes their mothers especially feel crap all day, then as soon as their carer is out of sight just switching off the tears and getting on with it. Cheeky monkeys.

DryWhiteagainW · 09/05/2019 20:19

Oh and I fell up the basement stairs in Debenhams today, literally skidded face first onto ground floor....everyone stopped, nice young man at my feet asked if I was ok (felt like a loony grandma) ....so humiliating......bloody pointy shoes........Grin

VivaVegas · 09/05/2019 20:45

20% off Whistles, although I'm sure their prices have increased by more than that in the last year just so you feel you're getting a bargain!
Echo what the others have said Blair I'm sure they are fine as soon as you have left.
Everything I bought other than the black Zara jeans have gone back! Reflects my mood I feel, don't like it once I try it on!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/05/2019 12:30

Thank you all - he has been fine going in so far (I haven't lingered) but am dreading a clingy phase. Day 1 was hard, I feel better today especially as it's Friday. And then from next week I am off Tuesday and Wednesday for the next 3 months! Grin

Oh no Dry hope you're ok!

Dream how is MrDream doing? Have been thinking of you.

I've bought some summer clothes, just some denim shorts and a cotton kaftan from asos. Also bought another hairband, a red knotted one this time. And some gold Greek sandals from Etsy, for when I'm a bridesmaid next month for my sister. Will report back :)

Dreamqueen · 10/05/2019 20:15

Update on MrDream he's walking nearly unaided. his brain fog is clearing but sometimes it's just like talking to a very small child but I can cope with that. unfortunately he's suffering from gout in the feet at the moment so thats delaying rehab. the plan is going to a rehab ward for a couple of weeks and then he'll be fit for home. Things are looking up in the Dream house.

Thank you for all your kind wishes and lovely thoughts..

Some great links. quite fancy the Lola dress but in black.

Agree with Blair not sure about the suede on th trainers but otherwise love them. I think the scarf is too sugar pink (for me at least0

Apogies if not making sense.I feel quite exhausted.

Final thought is I had believed that the extortionate (spelling?) car park rates in hospitals went to fund the fantastic staff but they don't. car park is run by a private company for profit. I'm tempted to take the bus and bypass the car park (and the 30-45 minutes driving around jsut to find a space) Rant over.

PS can you tell that I've had gin? Smile Shop i've heeded your words and cut down the amount from what I was drinking on the first week.

DryWhiteagainW · 11/05/2019 08:53

Oh Dream it’s good that things are improving slowly. Hospital car parks just add stress. Keep positive, you’re amazing.

shopafrolic · 11/05/2019 09:03

Dream so glad to hear he is improving, as I said before, the brain is astonishing and things can change massively in the first 12 months. Sending you love.
Glad to hear about the booze too. It became quite worrying how much I was downing without really noticing.
You’d look fab in that dress in black - I have it and wear it loads.
Oh and car parking at hospital makes me mad. At our local hospital I was paying up to £12 a day with none of it going to the NHS. Just awful.
No really news here. DF is worsening again. Doctors are struggling to figure out what concoction of drugs will be best for him as he has so many issues that one drug has a positive effect in one place but causes issues with other organs.
He’s been moved to a ground floor room as he keeps trying to wheel himself around without a member of staff. He ended up lost on the 2nd floor at 5.30am the other day.
Going for dinner this eve but otherwise a quiet weekend ahead.
Love to all.

shopafrolic · 11/05/2019 09:04

God that is the most random post ever Grin

VivaVegas · 11/05/2019 10:02

Sorry to hear things are still hard Shop and Dream.
I have quite a few /too many Lola and Lulu dresses from Whistles so daren't buy anymore! I like them when it's warmer with sandals.
So for the short arses amongst us anyone else feel frumpy in the midi length dresses that seem to be everywhere?
I'm not a huge fan of a maxi dress either as I feel like they drown me but like them on other people.
Out last night on the fizz so a bit jaded today!

Longislandicetee · 11/05/2019 10:06

Hi Voguettes! Another really busy week for me. Dh says I crashed in bed at about 10pm last night.

Loved all the Met Gala links and pics, I hadn't seen some of the really outrageously cool ones the FedUp posted.Grin

Great to hear MrDream is slowly on the mend, and Shop, sorry to hear your dad's situation continually challenged.

Blair, your ds will be fine. my ds doesn't remember his first day of Nursery. I do still remember crying all the way to work and being really upset the whole day as the sound of him screaming "Don't leave me mummy" rang in my ears. He was perfectly fine when I saw him the end of the day. He did the same thing the next day. Again was perfectly fine. I made dh do the drop offs after thatGrin

QueenCerise · 11/05/2019 12:50

Hello!
dream I’m so glad that things are improving, albeit slowly. Hospital parking is always the thing that causes stress and comes up in patient surveys. Not sure who ours is run by but there’s nowhere near enough spaces. Sadly it’s the council that won’t allow bigger car parks to be built due to sustainability and trying to cut down on people using cars. Because we are a regional centre people need to drive as transport is rubbish so end up paying for cabs.
blair I don’t even remember my dc first day at nursery anymore. It’s stressful at the time especially when they cry but 9/10 once you’re gone they are absolutely fine.
Gotta go, no time to do a long one x

DryWhiteagainW · 11/05/2019 15:43

Shop what will you wear?

Viva I agree about midi and maxi. It’s difficult because midi is so in anything else doesn’t look so current. I can wear both lengths if they are fitted or at least have waist definition. My preferred length, though, will always be on, or just under, the knee.

Oh, and I have an irrational dislike for the maxi/wedge combo.

DryWhiteagainW · 11/05/2019 15:52

I want this sweatshirt

Dreamqueen · 11/05/2019 19:57

What size has anyone bought in the Lola dress please?

libertyonhertravels · 12/05/2019 04:32

So good to hear DH is improving Dream. I have no idea on the sizing for the Lola but I love the leopard print version.

Shop can you request a full medication review for your Dad? There are so many elderly people on loads of drugs that aren't helping them.

I love midi dresses Smile. But agree they are tricky if you are short. I like how maxi's look on me but hate the material hitting the ground when I sit etc.

I bought this Zambesi dress today in the Chess colourway. Really love it. It's Mother's Day here so I decided I deserved a treat.

VivaVegas · 12/05/2019 07:17

Dream I'll have a look at my Lola's when I get up.
