I took the plunge yesterday and had my first botox session.

I thought it might be useful to others thinking about it to post some progress pictures as the effects set in.

I had Botox early 30s, best thing I ever did.

Rogueone · 29/12/2018 21:42

Interesting thread. I went to an event for ladies over the age of 40. Menopause advice, botox/ filler consultation...I got my face map and if I went ahead it would cost me over 1k and then if I liked it I could get my neck done too. Wasn't sure if I should be happy or depressed as I clearly looked like I needed it..Grin i have never had it but I know alot of people who have and they look great ... so maybe...

GypsyRoseTea · 29/12/2018 21:45

I paid 1000 recently for 2ml cheek filler and Botox in 3 areas. Very pleased. Am 46. Normally £300 just for Botox

Thisismyhappyface · 29/12/2018 21:50

I paid £220 for 3 areas. I asked about fillers, but she recommended waiting another 5 years or so.

Cor, that quickly escalated didn't it?!

These are before and after pictures of Botox I had in October, l love it, I'm 35.

Believe it or not, picture 3 I'm trying to raise my eyebrows as much as picture 1.

Fabulous Aceinthehole!

Unicorn, I know exactly what you mean, I lost weight and then my face just sort of sagged. Coincidence or not, I was very happy to get it and the improvements it's made to me personally is well worth the money.

I'm planning Botox for an overly gummy smile next time round 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thisismyhappyface · 29/12/2018 22:13

Aceinthehole I've asked about having gummy smile correction at my 2 week review!

Gosh I love Botox. Fantastic stuff. I get my 11s and crows feet. I have quite pronounced crows feet - makeup settles in them etc and i get a fantastic result. I don’t have many forehead lines or 11s but I do 11s because it really freshens my face. I prefer not to do my forehead as I like some expression and movement.

Love it. FAR better value than any face cream etc.

Having said all of that, I don’t think I look any younger with Botox, and nor do I want to - I see nothing ‘wrong’ with ageing. I am vain tho so I like to look my best and imo Botox definitely helps me look my best.

Hezz · 29/12/2018 22:44

Has anyone got a before/after photo of crows feet?

I'd love to get mine done if it works

Thisismyhappyface · 29/12/2018 22:47

@Championquartz how often do you get yours done?

OP posts:
championquartz · 29/12/2018 22:48

Aw pity I don’t have a pic Hezz. It works very well on me and it doesn’t change my expression much. My lines are all smoothed out and makeup stops gathering in them.

championquartz · 29/12/2018 22:51

My crows feet are quite pronounced and it probably wears off after about 10 weeks. If you were younger I reckon you’d get away with less often. But I get it done every 3 or 4 months (it’s costly enough). Nothing terrible happens when it wears off.

Thisismyhappyface · 29/12/2018 22:54

I've budgeted for every 4 months, but hoping for a but longer of course.

I had botox on the 20th December. Forehead and in between my eye brows.
I think I can see a difference but my right eye lid looks heavy and droopy.

Due a top up next week. Bit worried about my eye lid!

BusterTheBulldog · 29/12/2018 23:01

Great thread idea!

I am also tempted to get on my 11s. They are v deep though... really interested to follow how it goes!

hairypaws · 29/12/2018 23:10

I get it twice a year and it lasts so well now. I've been getting it about 3 years and it definitely lasts longer if you keep it up.

Keep us updated.

Thisismyhappyface · 30/12/2018 10:27

48 hours later. Definitely less movement.

Wow that’s really noticeable!

tablelegs · 30/12/2018 10:38

Looks great op, looking forward to your 14 day post Botox pics.

I'm looking back at pictures of my forehead from when I last had it (currently pregnant so can't get it until baby is here) and it just looked lovely.

Thisismyhappyface · 30/12/2018 11:03

I'm really surprised at the difference already. Eyebrows looking a bit spocky, but hoping that evens itself out.

OP posts:
Aceinthehole · 30/12/2018 11:20

Looks great! Any hint of suspicious eyebrow will definitely settle down!

Janecon · 30/12/2018 20:20

I commented at the beginning of this thread saying I don't think anyone of 28 needs Botox. I haven't had time to come back to the thread until now but I haven't changed my view. I appreciate others think differently. But I do think we all need to be able to accept that we all age, and if you are reliant on Botox so young, what happens if you can't afford it?

Moving on, some posters mention bruising and drooping eyelids. This shouldn't happen. If you are going to have Botox please make sure it's administered by a nurse or someone who understands the physiology of the face. Don't have it done by someone in a beauty salon unless you have checked their medical credentials.

Lecture over - sorry!

OP - you look great, it's really working, and very quickly.
