Please tell me what I can do to sort my face out. I split with my husband of 13 years in February and feel so old and crappy. I'm only 39, but seem to have aged a lot this year.
I'm thinking of cosmetic surgery, but this is completely alien to me. I wear makeup every day and spend quite a lot on skincare, always have, but what can I dooooooooo?!
Any advice very much appreciated.

Your skin isn’t too bad, looks very dry though.

I would use a chemical exfoliator such as a BHA or AHA after cleansing. A very good moisturiser, probably an oil before hand at night.
And not to forget retinol - starting on the weakest strength and building up.
Don’t forget spf in the day Smile

I think your face and skin is fine. However, I think you need a new style cut for your hair. Do some research and find a really good, talented hair dresser and ask them what they recommend will suit your face. It's amazing how a really good haircut will transform your look, freshen you up and give you a confidence boost.

gurning the bloody phone is changing my words!! I checked that one and changed it already before posting, Gah!

Skatersbeskating · 17/11/2018 03:30

I agree, try something different with your hair.

Shriek · 17/11/2018 03:34

Yes, transforming hair do will also make you feel a million dollars!

nzeire · 17/11/2018 03:53

I was going to say hair too!
Skin is fab!

ICJump · 17/11/2018 04:11

You are beautiful. You don’t look haggard.

Wear sunscreen every day. Drink water and eat yummy food.

SallyVating · 17/11/2018 05:28

You look lovely just as you are 🤩

Temerity123 · 17/11/2018 07:13

You look really good! Honestly, I can’t see any need for anything to be done. You don’t need Botox or any form of surgery. You’re an attractive woman and your skin is lovely. I think you look a good 5 years younger than you are.

Placebogirl · 17/11/2018 08:05

What colour is your natural hair colour? I suspect going to a very dark brown would actually make you look younger. Generally I think you look fabulous--you're a year younger than me and look a decade younger!

DoingMyBest2010 · 17/11/2018 08:13

i think you look very pretty!

Mrstwiddle · 17/11/2018 08:15

Face looks great, hair could have a little more style, maybe a side fringe? I’m a year older than you, and have just started using retin a and retinol products, you’ve got to go easy on them, but that and sunscreen are now that will help you now and down the line.

Slightly darker, slightly shorter choppier hair would work wonders for you. Drink tons of water, cut out as much sugar and alcohol as you can and moisturise! Don’t go near Botox, you won’t be move your face naturally at 50 if you start with all that. (Just waiting for the huge backlash of people slating me for that comment!) But seriously you’re a stunning woman, you look lovely.

MrsEricBana · 17/11/2018 08:32

Honestly don't mess with your face. You look pretty, nice, fun. Clear skin, nice teeth, nice eyes, lovely hair. Enjoy your life and don't stress!

picklemepopcorn · 17/11/2018 08:35

Please don't mess with your face! Our faces are unique! Once we mess with them we all start to look alike.

Also, consider whether you may have a touch of dysphoria. I have phases where my face looks hideous to me- criminal, like a mug shot. The same face a few days later is perfectly acceptable! It may be your state of mind, not your face!

BusySittingDown · 17/11/2018 08:36

Omg woman, what are you talking about?! Grin

You've got amazing skin - I have waaaaay more wrinkles than you and I'm 35.

I'd leave well alone if I was you. Eat well, sleep well, drink plenty of H20.

AhoyDelBoy · 17/11/2018 08:37

I agree about the hair. Something that is more shaped around your face and a warmer colour perhaps? Honestly, I agree with PPs you look great for your age but not just for your age IYKWIM. I’ve just started using Alpha-A Liquid Gold (I have a thread about it Grin) and love it so much! My skin looks glows and fresh so that could be worth a shot. You say you use skincare, is that just your standard cleanse, tone, moisturise or treatment products as well?

AhoyDelBoy · 17/11/2018 08:38

looks glowy

ahola · 17/11/2018 10:36

Haha! I can see the photo now Grin

Your eyes are lovely, and your hair is fab- you don't need to do anything, maybe get enough sleep and drink more water?
Definitely better when not gurning...

Wink
Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 17/11/2018 10:42

Jesus woman, there's nothing bloody wrong with you.
I can't believe people are suggesting botox, or you are considering anything else.
Your skin is great, if I were to suggest anything it would be a new hair style perhaps to give you a bit of oomph.
Other than that, if it ain't broke .....

MoltonSilver · 17/11/2018 10:45

You don't look haggard and you definitely don't need cosmetic surgery. Do you have a skincare regime involving retinol, acids and spf?

Talith · 17/11/2018 10:46

You look great. Maybe lose the blonde, go darker and try something a bit choppier. I avoided layers for years then was persuaded... Wowee instant body.

MoltonSilver · 17/11/2018 10:47

A good starting point...

You are beautiful. I think a chin length bob could look amazing
