Please tell me what I can do to sort my face out. I split with my husband of 13 years in February and feel so old and crappy. I'm only 39, but seem to have aged a lot this year.
I'm thinking of cosmetic surgery, but this is completely alien to me. I wear makeup every day and spend quite a lot on skincare, always have, but what can I dooooooooo?!
Any advice very much appreciated.

Don't go down the Botox route, no one needs to start injecting stuff in their faces to feel better. You look great, and you obviously have a good sense of humour and fun. Enjoy yourself and leave your face alone!

Mixedbags · 17/11/2018 10:50

I’m going against some of the grain here. I like your hair. To me, you look good. However, I know what you mean. I have very similar skin and wrinkles ( a bit more for me). I think I look tired. I am wavering about Botox (don’t know enough information) but I’m too scared to do it. I have no idea about skincare and what the ‘magic’ potions are that I need! Sorry not much help!

DontFundHate · 17/11/2018 10:57

You look great op, and I think your skin looks fine!

Another vote for updating hair, maybe a long bob? I like the colour of your hair but it doesn't match your eyebrows so perhaps have a think about that? But honestly op you look great, any suggestions are only because you asked for some, not because you really need to change anything!

SilentIsla · 17/11/2018 11:00

You have a nice face! Don’t spoil it.

Fireandfury1 · 17/11/2018 11:02

Agree with the others - don’t spoil your face!

A nice face oil (recommend blue orchid by Clarins), omega-3 supplement, good diet full of green veg and avocado, decent kip and not too much wine will do wonders.

Love the idea of new hair, too, can’t do any harm!

Good luck. This was me last year ish!

Biologifemini · 17/11/2018 12:29

You look great.
With your skin tone I would go ‘bronde’ And use some face oil and spf and acid toner if you want a bit of anti-aging.
But you look great as you are.

I just had my hair cut in to a shoulder length bob last week because it had got too long and needed a good cut to help it's condition. It's a terrible photo of me rather pissed in my pjs and my hair looks awful in it, but darker hair doesn't suit me at all. I've tried it a fair few times and hated it, I looked washed out. You can't see the colour of my hair very well in the photo but it's an icy blonde in daylight. In the new year I'm having some lowlights put through it, but for now the hairdresser says leave it alone.

It's my old face that's the problem. Not my hair. x

EurusHolmes · 17/11/2018 13:24

I'm 25 and think your skin is great!

SpeckledyHen · 17/11/2018 13:28

You don’t need anything other than a lippy in a great colour that suits you and a smile 😊

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 17/11/2018 14:02

I can't believe you think you have an old face.
I tell you what, I'm never putting my photo on here, I'm over ten years older than you.God knows what some people would suggest for me.

Do nothing. You look ace. Don't spoil your natural beauty with Botox and cosmetic surgery.

gonzo77 · 17/11/2018 14:17

You DO NOT need to do anything to your face. You look fantastic

Racecardriver · 17/11/2018 14:19

Before going for cosmetic surgery try enzyme peels or microneedling.

Delatron · 17/11/2018 14:20

Yes don’t do botox/fillers you don’t need them and they rarely look good, even on celebrities with all the money in the world.

Start to get serious about skincare now though and that will help as you go in to your 40s. SPF every day. Research retinols/ vitamin c serums. They have been proven to work and have an anti-ageing effect.

Eat well, so lots of good fats from salmon, nuts, avocado. Sugar breaks down collagen so reduce this. Lots of water. Fish oil supplements are good too.

Jjbay · 17/11/2018 14:27

Google Environ products retinol based along with their vitamins and facials. They are amazing. My skin has been so much better over the past 6 months I have been using it.

mrsbunk · 17/11/2018 14:40

You look fantastic. I'm a touch older than you by the way and I envy your skin. Looks really fresh, firm and glowing. Lovely face, regular features, your eyes are great as is your mouth.

If you’re seriously asking here is my view:

Spot of Botox on the forehead. That’ll sort the horizontal wrinkles and take care of the frown lines between your brows. They are not very deep so Botox is sufficient.

You've deep nasolabial lines. They’d do with a subtle fill.

Touch of filler into cheekbones. It would lift your jawline really well as with age your skin lost tone visible on second picture. You’d basically get a immediate.

Estimating it:
Botox - just forehead and side of eyes: 180 - 250
Filler in both areas - 400 - 600

If you’re really going for it ask for Prohfilo - it’s a wonderful treatment. Your skin would practically turn into baby complexion.

At this age and this skin, with a very good doctor who knows their stuff you'll look 5 years younger after a visit. Someone upthread mentioned doing your research. Definitely do that.

For those who are clutching pearls at Botox and filler. There is a world of difference between how it's done by the likes of TOWIE or Katie Price or people who had it done and you wouldn't even know. The difference is in skill and how YOU want to look. Nobody knows I had anything done. My doctor subscribed to the "not enough rather than too much" school of thought and my face just looks fresh. My own mother doesn't know. She just told me one day I finally look rested (week after procedure). And I can still move my face Grin

Additionally, rather than blowing stupid money on creams that genuinely do bugger all (getting any of these wonderfully scientific sounding ingredients on the box under the epidermis without a needle is impossible), I'd rather spend on Botox and filler twice a year and use a big standard moisturiser from Superdrug.

Hair needs sorting. That blonde is touch too warm and too block colour. A good set of highlights with a hairdresser that does good blondes (not every hairdresser does as it’s a skill). Good swishy cut that frames your face. At the moment the hair hangs in a curtain and doesn’t do your face justice.

Delatron · 17/11/2018 14:43

I thought on the other thread lots of people
we’re slating Profhilo? They saw no effect and spent about £600

Delatron · 17/11/2018 14:45

Also, when I had Botox round my eyes I found the wrinkles just showed up elsewhere, where there weren’t any previously! So under my eyes. Eyes are supposed to crinkle when you smile. You freeze that and it just looks strange.

MissLadyM · 17/11/2018 14:51

I think you're lovely looking and hope you don't go down the surgery route. Some fancy skin care, make up & pampering will get you in a better headspace x

Shriek · 17/11/2018 14:59

Exercise, good healthy eating (with the right skin vits), right amount of sleep, and life stress, will do far more, have a greater 'all over' effect, have long lasting effects, and, bonus, actually be good for you!!!

alreadyinchristmasmood · 17/11/2018 15:15

I also think you're beautiful. You have nice hair and nice skin. Of course you could go wild and have botox but I don't see it urgent!
