Matching undies - do you bother?

For the last few years, I've been buying into the advertising and purchasing matching bras and knickers. But now I'm beginning to think - is it worth it?

The matching knickers are usually uncomfortable, don't wash well, and cost about £15 for one pair of pants, all in the quest to look attractive in our smalls. I'm starting to wonder whether it's better to just buy a multi-pack of M&S cotton knickers and be comfortable with less risk of thrush!

Do you bother to match, or do most thing it's not worth the bother?

Always. It feels wrong wearing mismatched underwear in the same way I never wear odd socks.

God no. I spend a fortune on bras but like cotton knickers. I match by colour and I’ve never had any complaints Grin

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 14/10/2018 16:45

Nope. I like seamfree, flat, subtle pants that give a smooth line and don’t scream LOOK AT MY KECKS under clothes, so the matching stuff with lace, elastic, bows and fancy panels just doesn't work.

Always and match the colour to my top or dress too.

stevie69 · 14/10/2018 18:47

Absolutely ALWAYS. I have 50 or so matching sets, some basic, some more high end. I love my lingerie Blush

@stevie69... Omg are you me!

I may now need to go and count up my sets.
Pp saying matching sets show through clothes etc etc.. That's rubbish, it's the style of knicker that makes the difference.
I have everything from replica 1940s styles to wisps of barely there lace.
If I am wearing tight clothing then I choose a thong or Brazilian knicker.
I do not ever have vpl... Though my suspender straps sometimes show ☺

Petalflowers · 14/10/2018 18:53

Nope, I do have the odd matching set which I may wear ‘for best’, but for everyday use, NOPE.

Sound gorgeous Smile I'm not at all fussed about the clothes that show but what lies beneath has to be spot on. If I get run over, the paramedics will not be disappointed Blush

I always wear black knickers - so I guess they always match.

I have brought a few bra/knicker sets over the years but they are mostly uncomfortable and expensive.

Hardly ever when I’m single. Only for a special ‘date’ or when I know a man is going to be looking at me closely... it makes me feel sexy on those occasions. (Currently single.) When I’ve been in long term relationships I tend to match 40-50 percent of the time as it makes me feel like a seductress Grin

IJustLostTheGame · 15/10/2018 12:13

I match by colour.
The day I don't is the day I get hit by a bus.
Although if that happened I probably wouldn't care anyway.
But I don't feel right if I don't match. I will wear fancy/silly patterend pants with plain bras. But the base colour has to match.

cindersrella · 15/10/2018 12:30

No, not unless I'm going out or flying. I have this thing that if I don't wear matching pants and bra the plane will crash... I know.. really irrational and irritating but I am scared of flying so the matching undies are on 😝

Barbayagar · 15/10/2018 15:04

Hardly ever unless I'm out and wearing black undies for a special occasion. I never buy matching stuff or attempt to match the colour, don't see the point at all.

ineedsomeinspiration · 15/10/2018 15:17

No, I like bigger pants since having children. Tend to go for plain t shirt style bras. I do usually wear the same colour bra and pants though.
