Would you consider a classic red polish suitable for work?

Just asking out of curiosity.

I am returning to work soon and got my nails done yesterday. Asked for a matte red rather than glitter as returning to work.

My usually tactful and lovely manicurist exclaimed "how is that suitable for work?! I thought you were going to ask for a barely there pink!"

Thoughts?

I find that dark reds have the crayon effect as well. Maybe all nails do it to an extent, but you just notice reds more against white paper?

Broken, I love your nails! For some reason it's never occurred to me to have one nail a different colour but you've inspired me.

@JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff Perfect Formula is the brand, you can get it from Amazon or heaven forfend, QVC. It's not the cheapest so I keep my eye out for bulk deals and share with my mum - the pink one has a lovely light tinge but it really does strengthen my nails up when they're going through a brittle, peely phase or when I want to add some length.
