Hello ladies -hoping I can join your crew as a longtime lover of Hush but first time poster.
I’m not sure I’m brave enough to post any photos this time - had a hysterectomy last week. All my friends are still having babies (I’m 36) so when I ventured out of hiding earlier this week, two acquaintances I came across in the supermarket congratulated me on my pregnancy! I’m really swollen and feeling shit. Anyway, I ordered £1k+(!) of stuff in the hush aw18 to make myself feel better - but will be returning lots (more than I’d intended):
Sabrina cardi - missed out on this last year so delighted to get my hands on it. Agree the sleeve length is a bit weird but I don’t care. Very similar look and feel to the charcoal cashmere scarf from last year (which I did manage to buy!).
Ivy dress- this didn’t do much for me, cut off at an awkward length, though did hide the hideous belly. I loved the neck though - but it’s going back.
Kensington shirt dress- I ordered both colours in three sizes. All three of the silver floral ones didn’t have all the buttonholes cut through. I wasn’t impressed. They obviously knew as they’d done up the buttons they could and left the ones they couldn’t! No such problem with the red dress. I love the silver one - so I’ve kept one and my mum has kindly offered to sort the button holes (after, quite rightly, remarking that the dress needed a good iron and how can they send stuff out like this! I quite agree... does this mean I’m turning into my mum?!). I also really like the red one but can’t keep both so it’s gone back. There are a 10 and a 12 in the silver going back to Hush hQ as we speak - but I’ve marked them as faulty and so I’d hope they are fixed before adding back online.
Cord dungarees - not sure I was ever going to keep this but wanted to try. They are cool - but I couldn’t figure out what shoes and top to wear underneath. So back they go.
Leopard leggings - I’m all sorts of sizes from XS (harems) to 12 (boyfriend jeans) in hush. Ordered S and M - keeping S. no room for expansion on my swollen tummy. But hopefully it will go down!
Meg ruched skirt - ordered two sizes but mistakenly thought it would be jersey. Looked too fine and easy to snag so back it goes.
Andie hitch skirt - love this, though it also needs a bloody good iron! Kept the 8, also ordered a 10 and a 12 (ref previous comments about never knowing size!).
Long sleeve v neck slub tee - was delighted to see these as love the short sleeve version. Ordered the white first - xs and s - keeping xs. Looking forward to buying the charcoal at some point.
Be nice to your sister tee - got this mostly to save me saying the same to my kids. It’s cool - but not sure the colour suited me so back it went.
Now I come to the biggest disappointment - the leopard cashmere scarf. As I said above, I got the charcoal one last year and lived in it but really thought hard about whether I needed a second. Decided to treat myself - was so disappointed. I recall it being a bit more expensive than the charcoal version. It is so fine and thin - much closer in texture to the merino scarf from s/s which I bought for £15 or something. I don’t understand how they can justify that price. It already had tiny pulls in it from the fringed ends. Anyway, saved me some cash.
Final splurges were on jewellery:
Star studs- actually for my ten year old who had recently had her ears pierced. She loved them and so do I!
Centre star ear loop - also beautiful. I have three lobe piercings so wasn’t sure this would fit, but it does!
Double star pendant - lovely. Keeping.
C’est si Bon pendant - thought it wasn’t the same quality as the star pendant so am returning.
Wrap bracelet - love. Had been eyeing up a Stella and dot version which was about £45 so this felt like a bargain!
And that’s my haul! Still gutted about the cashmere scarf...!
