Can I ask Laska, did you ever get to the bottom of what made you do it? People have lots of compulsions and a lot don't want to do them. When I had my older ds I suffered badly from anxiety and OCD. I managed to work through it but I didn't want to have these things infact I didn't even know they had a name or that I had them until much later in life.

Laska5772 · 08/08/2018 21:06

I never wore a wig, but once I discovered keeping hair really short ,it was a liberation.. I do now have some 'badger patches' of white hair where some of it grew back like that , , but being white blonde covers that up.. (also I like it!) .. I really couldn't bear long hair.. It would trigger it again and does if t gets too long.. Luckily my DH , is not at all phased by it and never has been but he has his own weirdness

I met a lot of women in yahoo groups (remember them!) in the late 90s. Had several group holidays with the kids with some of them, mainly on camp sites, and still in touch with a good few of them, and the kids are still in touch with a few of the kids they met. A lot more careful now than I was then, though, but never had a bad experience.

ilovecherries · 08/08/2018 21:12

Yeah, there are lot of things that others judge as self inflicted and therefore not deserving of care, empathy or treatment. My own personal prejudice is that I have no time for such self-righteous knobs Grin

Laska5772 · 08/08/2018 21:14

No idea never it just started one day around late puberty.. some theories talk about having 'strep throat'' (i may have had, I dont remember) and that triggers the compulsion.. its akin to OCD but not the same somehow, .. I hope its different now but 50 years ago it wasn't recognised as anything (other than some king of madness even by the medical profession

I think the jury is out , but its really common much more than you would think.. and yes, what Cherries said there is a lot of shame and shaming that goes on.

I 'stopped' (one never really stops completely but its now very much under control , you would never know ) by a system of 'learning 'and distracting.. ..

Medical conditions like Alopecia are very different though..

I’m still pondering the jacket. I really like it but I’m in Ireland so rain...

Soy - pages back but I love the floral top on you. It was perfect. White was nice...

My sale definites are the nude Brayebrooks (gorgeous on, generous sizing and comfy) and the Annabelle dress (nice shape, not too sack like and will be good in autumn for work with ankle boots and black tights, put entire outfit on and pic doesn’t do justice, doesn’t show the movement).

Rose jumper is going back - it feels beautiful and it’s the perfect shape but when all is said and done I am not a motif person. Still dithering over cest la vie T. And obviously the jacket.

Caro top is heading back. Think it’s a bit too balloony - if it’s in an 8 I may reorder. Star jeans as I bought at £40 and accidentally ordered the star embroidered at £25. Also the star fray jeans give me camel toe if I get them where I want them to sit on my waist. So it’s a no! And the star embroidered are just too pale and not me. It’s a no top on the colourblovk skirt - I hoped beyond hope that the model was a giraffe and it was a little longer. It wasn’t.

Laska5772 · 08/08/2018 21:24

.. and so back to HUSH! Any 'last Hurrahs' from the Sale? ..

and on the subject of outing, Yes, Boris the Blond and I share a surname, although its my 'adopted name' , not the one I was born with, or married

Brayebrooks are fab Porpoisefully I kept both colours! .I loved them when they were full price , but sent them back then, so really happy to get them for £40 each, so far have only worn the blue(but only has them a week) , I need to get some spray for them before i wear them again though

Bugger I cross posted - was writing whilst going through a mammoth trying on session and had missed a page of posts from when I started to when I finished. Feel a bit foot in mouth. Typical of me in real life too!

PorpoisefullyObtuse · 08/08/2018 21:34

I share similar with BTB. In fact my son has mad blonde hair and when he was a toddler and woke up with a mad mop we said he was “a bit boris-y”!

Laska5772 · 08/08/2018 21:40

I guess recently though I have been!!! What with the shoes and Soyos flowery top [ but mine in the school dress print] saying that, maybe its cherries She enabled me over the devore!!!
I think its spreading like an enabling virus.....

neveradullmoment99 · 08/08/2018 21:57

Grin All said in jest.

I don't honestly mean to enable if its me...

neveradullmoment99 · 08/08/2018 22:00
Grin I think we do enable each other. Its just nice to share good buys :)
Talisin · 08/08/2018 22:00

Re the star fray jeans Porpoise; I had the same issue back when I first ordered them at full price. I decided to try them again when they went in the sale because I really loved them in theory and maybe a miracle would occur. Got them and they fit! No more camel toe. I had lost a couple of pounds in the interim but it was literally just a couple of pounds so I doubt that had anything to do with it. I came to the conclusion that the second pair were very slightly differently shaped so in a long winded way what I’m trying to say is if you really like them it’ may be worth reordering before the sale ends.

Laska5772 · 08/08/2018 22:01

Grin..

Lets see who cracks first on AW18 , eh?

neveradullmoment99 · 08/08/2018 22:04

That's very thoughtful enabling of you melen Grin

ilovecherries · 08/08/2018 22:04

I’m Quiet Enabler.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/08/2018 22:06

So what is everyones best summer buys?

I think mine has to be my black denim washed shorts. I have worn them loads. That and the Grecian tops. Also the dark washed boyfriend jeans. I have worn them since I got them at the beginning. Also the star poole slides and the chunky flatform birky type sandals.

neveradullmoment99 · 08/08/2018 22:09

Did I tell you that I ended up keeping the black cutwork top? Kept the 8. I wore it the other day and loved it. I had a little long vest under it. Looked great with my Hush denim skirt. I didn't mean to keep it. Just kept meaning to take it to the post office and it never happened....
