Buffing ridges away is not a good idea as it thins the nail. A better solution is to use a base coat/ridge filler when using nail varnish.

I’m having a giggle here! I did say lighthearted and had a margarita and 2 gin n tonics
Some days I feel like 98 depending on how long I’ve been stood on them (feet)

For the ridges, gel nails will fill them in and give a smooth finish

I tend to do base coat and top coat for finger nails but as toe nails last longer often just slap on 2 coats of varnish

Early 60s? They look like my mums feet minus the nail varnish.

My toenail ridges are much worse than yours and I'm only in my 30's! My feet are also incredibly veiny and generally pretty grim, I think people would guess at 90ish for mine.

You do have lovely feet.
