WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK THREE, May/June 07

WideWebWitch · 29/05/2007 11:03

This is week 3 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

At last a good day! Went to the gym this morning, had my hair cut this afternoon and spent a lot of money on my trainers immediately afterwards. Must have been a good cut (much younger according to DD) as the sports shop manager was paying rather a lot of attention (obviously not connected to my lower-than-normal-cut top and the tying of laces!).

Food okay but haven't been annointing with lotions this week so skin feels parched today. Will scrub and slap on the creams tomorrow.

My over-indulgent week has left me feeling bloated and tubby. Actually want salad and fruit.

winnie · 01/06/2007 22:37

I've had a good day but now feel overwhelmingly tired and am off to bed. It is after the bootcamp watershed afterall
Have a good weekend everyone

winnie · 02/06/2007 09:54

I have lost another 3lbs

yoyo · 02/06/2007 10:28

Wow Winnie! You are doing fantastically well. How are things with DD now?

glitterfairy · 02/06/2007 10:46

Well done Winnie! I am back on track again.

I have been running this morning and had a talk from my trainer.I am eating a low GI diet for fourteen days and I remembered hand cream last night! Off to shower and spread cream everywhere else now tmi???

I continue to eat (and oh yes the scales bear witness) all sorts of things I 'shouldn't' but did another 60 lengths this morning.

Have perused photo-feature of my soon to be colleagues this morning. They are glamorous. Even at my most presentable there is no way I count as glamorous. Let alone glossy. Oh sh*t.

motherinferior · 02/06/2007 14:40

...and the fridge is full of a cake from Best Cakeshop in Lunnon, purchased by DP this morning after my insistence that yes I would like a birthday cake thangyouverymuch, and his protestation that no way could he make one successfully

foxinsocks · 02/06/2007 18:08

well done winnie!

well, we are coming to the end of half term (have an inset day on Monday but dh is around from tomorrow, so that makes it much easier!).

Ice cream count - at least 7 I reckon
Alcohol count - appalling
Cake count - even worse

However, I have done zillions of steps (although at child pace!) and today we did the Science Museum, NH Museum and the V&A which clocked up thousands and thousands!

I'm looking forward to next week, getting back on track and starting to tackle my belly (and boy, does it need some tackling).

Hope you had a good holiday marina.

yoyo · 02/06/2007 21:56

MI - in really good Welsh sing-along-voice "Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you". Hope you had a great day and that my gin and wine addled brain(deserve it after elderly gent and car door episode so no apologies) has not given you an early birthday greeting.

WideWebWitch · 03/06/2007 11:08

Happy Birthday MI! Was it yesterday or today? We had a lovely roast yesterday and wine but a lovely evening where dh and I sat outside chatting for ages.

toast so far today but really intend getting back on the boot camp proper tomorrow. Getting up is going to be hard tomorrow, children didn't get up until 8.30am this mornign and then I slept in until 9.30, bliss.

It's not till Tuesday - though thank you, obviously, very much - the cake is apparently For Then (hope it's still OK).

We went to Whipsnade today (fabulous elephants) and I did at least cheer myself up at the fact I appeared to be in better shape than quite a few of the women there. Although I really must, must, stick to The Rules rather more adequately on the weight loss front over the next couple of weeks.

iota · 03/06/2007 19:57

As the very pleasant last few days draw to a close, I can honestly say that I'm following the final rule devotedly.

Can't say too much about the rest of them though although have been for a bike ride and swimming today (swimming was more standing around in the pool than thrashing up and down the lanes)

New leaf tomorrow

Why is it so difficult to drink water at the weekend? Haven't drunk enough water this weekend but have fulfilled the bootcamp in every other way including vigorous salsa dancing last night. Have seen friends and family so happiness quota has been good this weekend too.

Am feeling very virtuous as I declined the offer of a chinese takeaway and I didn't drink last night

glitterfairy · 03/06/2007 20:19

I am also feeling good as I ahve got back in the swing of things and ran 7 miles this morning. Eating a fruit salad now made by my eldest!

I am using top weightwatchers tip too of putting on handcream and then washing up in rubber gloves. Hands come out in tip top condition!

WideWebWitch · 03/06/2007 20:24

I have found it harder to drink water while I've been at home too Winnie, I suppose it's because I'm not sitting down in the same place all day. It's easy to drink from a large bottle and make a point of re filling it every time you go to the loo at work.

Iota, glad to hear about happiness and it was lovely to see you this week, we must meet again soon

MI the zoo sounds cheering, hmm, will the cake really keep? You'll have to eat it if not! Saw your glam soon to be colleagues, you'll be fine, honestly

Sobernow, ah, how romantic and lovely! Sleep tight.

Hmm, well, half term has been a disaster for me, I need to get re focussed on the 2 dress sizes I still have to go. Today

1 piece toast
and then we went for a picnic around 2ish so had a few prawns dipped into (low cal but still) garlic mayonnaise, some left over chicken, also dipped, a panini with butter and chicken and pickle, a laughing cow cheese, and er, I think actually, that's it. Oh, a fab lolly when we got in. Blimey, not muchis it? And I'm in bed already, will be asleep by 10 for sure to withstand the brutality of a 6.15am start tomorrow. Wore factor 40 sunscreen while picnicking too and did drink some water.

Gosh that all sounds a bit 'I forgot to eat' doesn't it but I was feeling v happy today and therefore didn't really think about it much. Ooh, there's a blindingly obvious connection then, I def eat when I'm stressed.

It's a new non half term week tomorrow everyone! The challenge for me is going to be to exercise because I can't bear walking in thge heat so will need to MAKE myself do it when it's cooled down, i.e. after work.

Not a good half term for me either. Oh well. On we go.

Also, I'm really really really sorry, but dh has suddenly got to work on the 23rd - so I won't be able to come after all. . I'm very very annoyed and sad to miss it, but I hope you all have a lovely time. I feel very bad about dropping out, hope we can do it again some time. Don't all hate me! (or you might break out the champagne, in which case enjoy it!). Sorry!

Evening everyone.

I ran 7.2 miles today and have clocked up a massive 16000 steps on the Moron-ometer

Then we went out for lunch as it was my parents' Ruby Wedding anniversary today. I did have a huge dessert but could only eat half. Later my mum cut us all huge chunks of cake later - anyone who doubts that sugar can have an adverse effect on children should have seen my 3 lovelies. We were peeling them off the walls

Glad people have had good weekends.

tortoiseSHELL · 03/06/2007 23:58

Yes definitely! Will let you know next time I'm in London. Sorry to miss you all, I was really looking forward to it.
