WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK THREE, May/June 07

WideWebWitch · 29/05/2007 11:03

This is week 3 of the fourth boot camp of 2007 , everyone is welcome.

Veils drawn over last week

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage

The Omrons on Amazon are currently £21 (usually £30) and free P+P - but more for express delivery.

motherinferior · 30/05/2007 19:27

Today I visited my parents.

Sorry, but the booze and cake consumed in consequence were medically necessary.

frenchleave · 30/05/2007 20:29

Ah, right, thank you. I think I do need one, if only to prove to myself that I really only take about a dozen steps a day and must Do Something About It. How far should I be walking every day?

Kate, my wedding dress is a size 20 so no need to be envious lol. But I have lost 3 dress sizes since Jan and getting back into wedding dress feels v significant. I will get a photo when I am doing the gardening in it but I don't do photo's and probably won't post it here until it is a definite 'before' shot

Bootcamp going really well. Averaging 10000 steps a day. Which was my first goal with the moron.

Am going to expose my legs to the world this summer I have a lovely 40's style dress that makes me feel very glamorous but I need some kind of fake tanning product. I have never used one and need advice. 1. What to use? 2. What do I do with it so that I don't end up orange or with streaks?

feetheart · 31/05/2007 09:20

Hello all, in midst of half-term madness here too.

Lovely camping trip at the w/e though we bailed out early too - a combination of teething/vomiting DS at 2am on Sunday and a horrible forecast. DS fine but drove through torrential rain all the way home feeling rather smug at our decision
Think camping is good for happiness but not for any other Bootcamp rules though I did learn to hula hoop whilst there, something I'm hoping will help me rediscover a waistline somewhere!

Winnie - LOL at image of you gardening in your wedding dress. I agree, photos are essential though am prepared to wait for 'before' and 'after'.
Well done on 10000 steps, think I've managed that in total since last week!
I can get into my wedding dress too though that doesn't sound as good as it could be considering I was 17 weeks pg with DS at the time!

Not too bad a week here inspite of half-term and grotty weather though excercise has been sadly limited and anything that has been attempted has either been at curious toddler or whingy 4 yr old pace!

motherinferior · 31/05/2007 17:19

I feel the need to inform you that I am drinking champagne (brought round by Visitor Boy's dad last night).

I did do yet another 60 lengths this morning, though.

yoyo · 31/05/2007 22:53

My parents left yesterday. IV alcohol would have been welcome. Feel exhausted. Made (and eaten)so many meals and now feel like doing stuff on toast for a week.

It was our wedding anniversary earlier in the week though and DH and I had a fantastic day in London without the DC. Had lunch in The Eagle and supper in Canteen hence the need for basic meals for a while. Saw the Gormley exhibition too which I thought was fantastic.

Exercise was going well but my ankles are quite sore and I must sort out footwear. Had a go in London but only one pair in my size in specialist running shop and they were £130!! Just couldn't spend that on trainers.

Quite looking forward to school runs and pilates next week. Am obviously a creature of habit.

Winnie - love the wedding dress for gardening. Mind your neighbours don't snap you for your local paper!

cerys · 31/05/2007 23:06

I feel like I should slink in here and make my excuses, as I haven't posted since the Race for Life on 20th May.

We went away to Pembrokeshire last weekend and ate chips with everything, except for Sunday when it was a large roast dinner. We did walk a lot, and chase after DS, whose middle name ought to be Houdini.

Half term is flying by, but DS is either happy or tantrumming (he is 2.7yrs) and his poor sisters are having a hard time of it with him. He bit me on the arm today and drew blood. So as a result I am finding I am comfort eating loads.

On the plus side I ran nearly 4 miles tonight and went to the gym another evening

glitterfairy · 01/06/2007 09:29

Have had a rubbish week eating crap and doing no exercise so am pulling myself together today and regaining my momentum.

Started the GI diet and am going running later. Have just had porridge with pomegranet seeds yummy and redbush tea.

winnie · 01/06/2007 09:46

Everything going really well
Glad everyone has been enjoying half term

WideWebWitch · 01/06/2007 10:20

suzywong · 01/06/2007 10:24

I am comfort eating as planning persmission for our Wong Wing is experiencing a little dealy and MIL comes back from hols in 2 weeks. Fish fingers and beer seem to be the only panacea atm

tell us how bad you've been please

tortoiseSHELL · 01/06/2007 10:36

Www - go on, I need cheering up! We had fish and chips from the chip shop and wine at 11.30 last night. . No excuses, just half term. And what's worse, we went to Brunel's buttery earlier in the day, for chips...(this is honestly all dh's idea.....), AND chocolate tiffin earlier.

Your veil is going to need to be a thick one this week, just to cover MY sins!!!

motherinferior · 01/06/2007 10:45

Before WWW posts, I can divert you by telling you I am sitting at my computer in a thick fleecy hat, covering a plastic one, covering henna. I look cutting-edge, on-trend, all the other cliches you can imagine. Not.

tortoiseSHELL · 01/06/2007 10:50

lol

kate100 · 01/06/2007 11:34

I was crap yesterday, I had my hair cut and it's near to the most delicious sweet shop and I succumbed, but it tasted good

I'm going away the the in-laws this weekend and my darling MIL always stuffs the house with yummy things and we're going out fir a curry with friends, this is not going to be a good week. I must be really good next week, as I'm 30 the week after that and there's going to be lots of food and drink to see me through it and then the following week we're off on holiday and that's going to be even more food and drink.

Have ordered my moron, will see how that goes.

kate100 · 01/06/2007 11:35

Marina - I used to do the cleaning in my tiara from my wedding day to inspire me to get it done, DH called it my cleaning crown. I haven't worn it in a while maybe I'll get it out again in an homage to your gardening outfit

OK, I will post to tell you what I've been up to and it will make you all feel positively virtuous.

Happy holidays Marina! I've just been thinking about winnie gardening in her wedding dress, it's such a sweet image. MI, that sounds tres glamorous... Tortoiseshell, fond memories of Bristol docks there. lol at cleaning tiara too.

Well, no walking or exercise of any kind for ages adn ages. Weeks probably. I definitely look fatter today too, I must get my focus back next week once I'm back at work.

My downfall has been LOTS of white bread toast with butter and lots of sandwiches with chicken and butter and pickle. I had a hot dog yesterday. And pick n mix (we watched a film at home with the children) Supper last night was shop bought Tuscan pizza base with with sardines, proscuitto, peppers, garlic and cheese. And a salad with dressing. LOTS of wine. Late night.

My mum has just gone and I'm wondering if I can get away with slinking off for a sleep in a bit, am v knackered. But the children have been sleeping until 8.30! Next week, when we all have to be up at 6.30am again, is going to be a killer.

and lunch today was

bread roll
brie
onion pickle
octopus
smoked duck breat
foie gras
rosemary crackers
salami
breasola
Wotsits
