Just the best day. I had a wander round Mango - lovely jewel colours around but way too many MMF so came away empty handed.
Then headed to &OStories. An Autumn’s heaven - rubbish for me but I found a velour fuschia pink striped sweatshirt for £14 which I adore but everyone I showed it to hated Grin
Arranged to meet Dry in Arket after i’d had my make up done at the Trish Mcevoy counter in Liberty and who should we bump into but Fedup
The three of us had a fun trying on session (bum poking was involved).
Dry looked fab in red Zara coat and leopard heels and Fedup loved the Hush top on you and loafers.
Kitty I loved your hair shorter, and you and Mara both looked fab in matching APC.
Justa you’re such a beauty - I really enjoyed our chat. Happy to talk beauty anytime.
Marsha you are fabulous as always but just so brill seeing you with miniMarsha thank you for letting me try and do my baby whispering. It had been way too long without you.
Sleep loved your Anna skirt - relaxed and cool as ever, and I love your signature scent - I only think of you now when I smell it.
Bernice so thrilled you made it, you looked so fabulous in that dress, and I am so envious of your hair (and lack of greys).
Blingy loves stealing a moment alone with you in the toilet - sexy as always. Up your game on the jewellery next time please Grin
Just such a wonderful day with my most favourite women. And I was surprisingly lucid when I got home considering the volume of booze i’d consumed.

shopafrolic · 22/09/2018 23:20

Clearly the alcohol has affected my grammar. I’ll read that post again tomorrow and cringe but hopefully you all get the gist.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 22/09/2018 23:27

sounds like you all had a fab day! sorry again i couldn't make it. always seems i have something else on which is a shame

since we are preparing to move, i'll be doing a wardrobe sort through again just to make sure there;s nothing else that needs to go. i don;t want to move it all and find half of it no longer fits or looks good, would much rather get rid of things now before i start packing properly

Stokey · 23/09/2018 08:24

Sounds lovely. Glad you all had fun.

Pity about the MMF in Mango Shop but glad that jewel colours are in. I totally struggle with autumnal, mustard, brown and khaki are real no-nos.

Good plan on clothes sorting One. I need to do some myself. Still having a jeans struggle, not quite happy with skinnies but not sure where to go.

I was at school fair from 9-2, setting up and running stalls in the rain. I wasn't dressed for the occasion - leather jacket rather than waterproof - so ended up getting home at 2 with wet children, putting PJs & heating on, & spending the rest of the afternoon snuggling on the sofa. Sorry to have missed the MU but don't think I could have faced getting dressed up & coming out!

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 08:29

Stokey I feel exactly the same about jeans. So bored of skinnies now. I tried some wide straight leg jeans on in Mango and just looked hideous. Everywhere I looked women were wearing wide leg crops and Vans. So wouldn’t suit me and will be freezing in winter. No idea where to go next. Most trousers I try on are too short, as seen by Dry and Fedup when I tried on some wide leg ones in Arket - again, hideous.

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 08:32

p.s. I may have been surprisingly lucid last night but i’m hanging this morning Grin

Stokey · 23/09/2018 09:07

I thought you would suit the wide-legged crop Shop. I always think I don't because I'm short. I guess you swap the Vans for ankle boots as it gets colder?

Interesting article in American Vogue pointing to flares basically but not cropped. I spent most of my twenties in flares & did love them but still remember how impractical they were in the rain!

Stokey · 23/09/2018 09:10

Refuse to do acid wash though.... Too many 80s stone wash memories. And am not really a fan of patchwork.

Stokey · 23/09/2018 09:12

Sorry should have linked. Denim trends that I will struggle with

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/09/2018 09:22

turn ups again. is it just me who finds that turn ups make them look even shorter?maybe it's because jeans are always too long for me, even in the shortest leg lengths i can find barring childrens jeans (no way could i fit my hips in childrens jeans!) so it just marks them out even more as being too long, i don't know. I don't mind the bleached or acid washed looks, i think i could do those and i'm always happy to see grey jeans, not keen on the patchwork trend though

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 09:27

Urrrgh - all so bad. And a hell no to acid / stonewash from me too.

QueenCyan · 23/09/2018 10:27

Sounds like you all had a great time. I realised that my Barbour is no longer waterproof!

I hear you on the jeans. Boot cuts/flares only look good on me with heels which I just don’t do anymore. And it’s so difficult when you remember the trend from the first time round to not feel like a frumpy throw back. I’ve been wondering about getting some slouchy boots to wear with skinnies. I’ll link what I mean in a minute....

QueenCyan · 23/09/2018 10:40

a bit like this. But flat.

QueenCyan · 23/09/2018 11:14

I have a definite image in my head but must have seen it in a magazines as can’t find what I mean online!

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 11:27

QueenC Barbour offer a re-proofing service

MarshaBradyo · 23/09/2018 11:56

Loved loved yesterday MU Flowers
Feeling a bit slow so back later for a proper post

justasecond · 23/09/2018 14:53

Had such a good time at the mu yesterday. So good to catch up with everyone. How lucky I am to have such an amazing bunch of women as my friends!
Naturally everyone looked super stylish:
Kitty and Mara in a gorgeous apc print that I am very tempted by. Forgot to say I loved your Toga boots kitty.
Fedup looked lovely in a cream star print shirt and very cool flatforms.
Dry looked very chic in a red coat and leopard heels. Loved chatting to you and shop Smile
Shop was gorgeous as ever. The black blazer is just perfect on you. Also love how you call a spade a spade Grin
Marsha looked wow in a beautiful printed dress and miniMarsha is just delicious!
Sleep looked lovely in a skirt and slouchy jumper. I so love that look.
Blingy was stylish in a knitted dress and boots. I want a clic clac so badly now!
Bernice looked glowing and gorgeous in a navy dress. Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat. I am going to sandwich myself between you and Blingy next time!

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 15:21

Justa I feel bad how blunt (and honest) I was - all well intentioned I hope you realise. How was shopping?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/09/2018 16:36

Have already found 3 pairs of brand new shoes that can go, i know i have worn them indoors and they were not suitable but couldn't take them back as couldn't find receipts so off the charity shop they go, hopefully they will be suitable for someone else! going to have a nose in one set of drawers and see what can go out of there, i'm so sure there's more can go, i can feel it in my bones, i'm so so bad for hanging onto things i shouldn't Blush

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 19:03

Just been for a Thai meal - it was kill or cure. Feeling loads better now.

DryWhiteagainW · 23/09/2018 19:47

Still buzzing from our lovely MU. This time I really caught up with everyone properly which was so god. Had a hellish, and unexpectedly expensive journey home, but hey ho, it was worth it.
Very pleased with my Hourglass make up Shop

FedupNagging · 23/09/2018 20:07

So glad I had a coffee instead of one last glass of wine -wondered how you would be feeling today Shop!

It was such a lovely mu yesterday, I managed to chat with everybody and admire bags, shoes, dresses, rings and babies accordingly - won't do a round up as will only repeat what others have said and don't want to bore anyone Grin

I have acquired an umbrella - Bernice I think it may be yours? Happy to post on.

Re the jeans article, I don't care how fashion forward acid wash and patchwork jeans are, it is not a trend I will be embracing cos I'll look ridiculous I do however have a pair of flared jeans I wear from time to time usually with stans or flatforms so maybe I should get a chevron jumper to complete the 70's look?

maradesbois · 23/09/2018 21:02

Am going to have a soppy moment and second justa in saying that I am so lucky to have you all as friends. We are all so different and yet something draws us together to create a deep bond that is so much more than fashion chat.

I bloody hate patchwork denim too.

Justa I read through my garbled notes on your skin regimen over a cup of tea earlier, think I will add a vitamin C product. Also have a confession - I ordered the equipment shirt you showed me as couldn’t stop thinking about it and now it’s sold out. Hope you got it too if you wanted it. Blush

shirt

Also needed dark jeans and a cardigan for the new season so ordered this and

this with the extra 25% off code.

Got to go, time for Bodyguard!!

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 22:01

Glad you’re still pleased with the Hourglass bits Dry
I need to know Justa’s skincare stuff! Can someone PM me or share here?
Agree Mara when we were at the hotel I looked around the room and thought how different we all our in style, jobs, body shape, everything and I feel really lucky.
Fedup oh dear - was I really badly behaved by that point?

shopafrolic · 23/09/2018 22:41

Last link isn’t working for me Mara
Jeans look good.
