Marsha can I add to your photoshoot list, tall white model overdressed in slum?
Fedup I feel you on the low V necks - no good for those of us with boobs
QueenC sinus pain is the worst - the saline nasal spray that BLingy recommended works well for me

QueenCyan · 19/09/2018 12:08

Does anyone else watch Wanderlust? Just caught up on episode 3 and the sex scenes feel voyeuristic. They feel really intimate and that I shouldn’t be watching but of course I can’t turn my head away Grin.
shop I don’t have any saline but I have lots of snot coming out of me anyway . I’m pretty sure I’m o’d-ing on sudafed though! I always thought how lovely it would be to have a few days sick and watch films etc. I’m bored shitless!!

QueenCyan · 19/09/2018 13:34

Has anyone read the times magazine today? There’s an I interesting article about stores using style psychologists. Apparently but what makes us happy is buying clothes that we wear regularly rather than on trend pieces. Also a boden focus group found that a third of save things for best . So hopefully retailers will start producing some better ‘classic’ clothes rather than just trendy pieces. The areticle also talks about the new JL collection which seems to have a lot of press lately. Anyone seen it irl?

QueenCyan · 19/09/2018 13:36

midlife chic also talks about the JL collection and Autumn trends and colours in general.
I couldn’t sleep last night as was coughing so much so spent a lot of time browsing blogs

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2018 15:04

Yes Shop add away, good one

QueenC haven’t seen that we’re watching Bodyguard atm

Have had the best day. Got black cab to the hotel in South Ken, Mara and Stokey thanks so much for suggestions I love Elizabeth St but in the end it was just easier to go to where they were staying. Prosecco turned into lunch, called the nanny for pick up. Now near Sloane Squ for pudding. So nice! What indulgence

Rinse and repeat for Saturday!

Have decided I can’t wear skinnies / jeans out though am in TopShop NAP skirt

FedupNagging · 19/09/2018 16:37

Sounds like a lovely afternoon Marsha; not envious at all, oh no not one bit!

I tried the JL polo neck jumper & silk shirt but neither fitted well at all. The jumper is so soft & snuggly but didn't sit flat, rather it wrinkled across the top of the chest which I decided I couldn't live with.

I couldn't be bothered to try anything else but all looked decent quality & loved the heeled boots.

Longislandicetee · 19/09/2018 17:12

Oh no QueenC you poor thing! As you know I suffer terribly from sinus problems. A nasal saline spray works miracles within 24 hours! Either Sterimar or Vapospray.

My Prada bag has been easing my pain of returning to work! Worn today with McQueen black and white floral dress and Aquazurra ballet flats.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/09/2018 18:25

Hope you feel better soon QueenC! I definitely agree the biggest pleasure comes from purchases that are worn a lot (but sometimes that could be a going out dress if worn often enough, sadly not for me anymore haha)

Marsha that sounds like a fab day! We are watching Bodyguard too. Haven't heard of Wanderlust. We also just binged the second season of Ozark on Netflix, so good.

Blingy love the sound of your outfit.

I've decided I really need to get some bigger jeans, they can be skinny or straight but they need to be cropped/short leg as it will be a hassle for me to get them altered if they are too long. Also my waist/hip ratio is still big and most jeans seem to have the dreaded gape at the back. Does anyone know of any high street jeans that fit well on a pear shape? Or maybe I just need to order loads from Asos... but am happy to spend a bit for some nice thick flattering ones.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/09/2018 18:27

Oh and I definitely find that with v neck tops! My boobs are still massive despite giving up breastfeeding and it's so annoying. I'd like them to be how they were before, but DH is delighted of course. Big boobs are so hard to dress!

shopafrolic · 19/09/2018 18:55

Blair GAP used to do a curvy range - can’t remember what it was called Confused
I’ve recorded Wanderlust, we’re watching the Bodyguard and i’ve Just finished season 4 of the Affair which I loved.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 19/09/2018 19:31

Thanks shop I thought of Gap, and I'm sure some Voguettes have had those jeans in the past. I also read that Warehouse have a good gap between hip and waist on their trousers and jeans. I actually have a day to myself in London on Monday (!!!) as I am seeing my dermatologist and DH is off on Mondays until December. But I don't want it to turn into a long day as I already feel weird about going out on my own Grin but maybe I could go to a couple of shops.

shopafrolic · 19/09/2018 19:55

GAP curvy denim range

DryWhiteagainW · 19/09/2018 19:58

Blair I have the same problem as you. Have you tried TS Jamie? DS got me onto them. High waisted skinny. I’ve discovered how incredibly flattering high waisted trousers are for me. Make my bum look peachy instead of a rectangular squashed pear Hmm

Hi, it's this weekend so can't make the MU.
I have possibly decided against all black and have these 3 tops coming tomorrow to try. Thinking with indigo jeans and heels:
red top
navy top
navy top
I want to look glam, am obviously overthinking it, trying not to get my hopes up but so want this to all work out. Probably a recipe for disaster!

QueenCyan · 19/09/2018 22:01

Love that last one viva. I hope it goes well for you.
dry your bum could never look like a squashed pear!
blair I’ve seen people rave about Sainsbury’s jeans on s&b but no idea whether they’re good for pears. Never tried warehouse jeans. What about next? I think kitty wears them? If you have an account you could order a shed load to try on and they do lots of branded stuff too.

I love the bodyguard. Can’t wait for Sunday!

DryWhiteagainW · 19/09/2018 22:43

Viva depends on the look you want.
Your original spaghetti strap black if I remember looked sexy and elegant and modern.
Red always makes me feel powerful and confident .....also quite an exciting colour.
The last black satin wrap style is v elegant and so tactile, v sexy too.

shopafrolic · 19/09/2018 22:48

I love the red Viva. The sleeves would annoy me on the last one.

shopafrolic · 19/09/2018 22:49

My only comment would be wear the clothes for you and not for him. If you feel confident and happy in what you’re wearing then that will show. I hope it goes well. WineFlowers

Dreamqueen · 20/09/2018 06:16

Apologies, I am sick and may not be well enough for MU on Saturday. I think I've caught the virus thats going around. Every muscle and bone is aching and my sinuses are completely blocked. Using the nasal spray & popping painkillers.

DryWhiteagainW · 20/09/2018 06:47

Oh no Dream , hope you recover quickly

OP posts:
VivaVegas · 20/09/2018 07:12

Thanks, I will only wear something I feel happy and confident in.
I have quite a few nights out with friends planned over the next month or 2 so whatever I buy will get other outings too, and nice to treat myself under the circumstances.

Fairysnow · 20/09/2018 07:15

Viva I love the red

shopafrolic · 20/09/2018 08:08

You definitely need to spoil yourself Viva - I am so sorry that things are so tough Flowers

QueenCyan · 20/09/2018 08:28

dream get well soon. Sounds like what I have. Dragging myself into work today although doubt I’ll even manage to stay for the 4 hours!
