Those MS boots are gorgeous but that heel height Shock. I think the green boots would be more wearable than the pink ones. I quite like those Asda ones that stokey linked.

What a great compliment stokey re your shoe collection. No one would ever say that to me Grin.

Lovely bracelets blair and nice buys. I find that a few accessories dress up a casual outfit and it makes you feel more put together / like you’ve made more effort.

I like the star shirt fedup. I’m partial to a star print. Is it quite sheer?

Sorry to hear things are still not great with your DH viva. Hope the dates help.

I think you could get away with leopard print too mara. There’s so much of it around at the moment.
Following onfrom the red and burgundy chat, I’ve seen a couple of outfits incorporating the two warehouse dress and Hobbs dress. I think it it looks ok, but as said, maybe it depends on the tone.

I like these red suede boots but just wonder if lk bennet will do a 20% off soon. I’m sure they usually do one with grazia around autumn time. I have a similar pair in black and they have been great. I also like the look of this star print blouse but the monsoon website is so rubbish that the pictures don’t load properly (the monsoon website really is the worst website for loading). I’ve got a half day next week so plan to hit the shops and try on some of the things I’ve seen.

libertyonhertravels · 18/09/2018 10:42

Great red boots everyone but I say step away from the Monsoon star print blouse - there is just too much going on with it IMO.

Marsha I had the exact same thought about Shop's fantasy husband - his wife would mind!!!

Shop the 'gasp' boots are amazing but as you say for a different life Smile.

I've decided I need to regroup clothing wise - am drifting into not being thoughtful about what I buy and have had a few mistakes recently. I've reread The curated closet this weekend and I'm now logging what I wear for the next two weeks to get a handle again on my style. I'll update on thoughts and insights as they come but already feeling like I need to ditch the jeans and rediscover skirts Smile

Mara I can totally see you in animal print, am wondering if it's the same Zara dress I currently have my eye on...

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 13:07

Nice boots Everyone I like the sleeve detail on the blouse

Lib I can’t crack the jeans thing as much as I would like to plus I have an aversion to tights I need to overcome. Will have to wear on holiday next. Great you’re into Spring

I was idly musing as looking at fashion pics and I’ve decided these photo shoots are no longer fresh or required

  • half made up face
  • overdressed in the laundromat (least worst, still like a good 5th Avenue look)
  • people lying on ground as if dead / hurt (no thanks)
  • people jumping (no this never works, so jaunty)
MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 13:08

Viva what did you wear? I hope it went well

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 18/09/2018 13:31

I think i only own one pair of jeans Blush and they are very very light wash so better for spring/summer wear than winter. I struggle to find jeans to fit and i also think i just look better in skirts/dresses so never bother looking for jeans.

shop you're right about not being able to see me in brown, it is definitely not a good colour on me at all. it was Dp who told me it makes me look 'dowdy' and as soon as he said it, i could see it, it just does me no favours at all, i don't know why i persisted with it for so long!!

so we are definitely moving back, probably at xmas so 3 months and it'll be goodbye london! i'm so torn, part of me wants to go and understands why its for the best and part of me wants to stay as i love it here but going back is the best option for us for a lot of reasons so that's that really

shopafrolic · 18/09/2018 14:11

Can I just clarify - my fantasy man is not that man and would definitely not be a married man. Grin

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 14:15

Lol Shop it did take me a moment to remember why you said music and that no it probably wasn’t him Grin

shopafrolic · 18/09/2018 14:21

As always - it was all about the clothes Marsha
Currently sat in the car wash. V unglamourous.

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 14:23

I just got dd to sleep and had to let someone in the door 😫

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/09/2018 14:54

Oh dear Marsha and I feel you would have said if it was at least an exciting parcel being delivered or something! How annoying.

I can't keep up lately... (though am reading!) Just been to baby cinema at the local Everyman for the second week in a row, to see Crazy Rich Asians. Would recommend for some fabulous outfits and generally amazing settings!

one aww it doesn't have to be forever. I'm sure you'll make the best of it. If there's another MU before Xmas you'll have to come (as will I!)

I sent back both TS jeans, neither were as well cut for me as my old ones which I think must be a slim straight leg. They were baggier, and frumpy on me, like queenC found. Also sent back the black Stories trousers as they fitted on waist but were baggy on leg. I basically have nothing to wear on bottoms atm, though I did squeeze into my slim chinos from Joules, strictly to be worn in the mornings only before I've eaten much. Grin I might try and get a couple of cheapish dresses instead of trying to find trousers.

MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 14:58

It was ds so not really ‘someone’ but still, I wasn’t cross (zen) (breathe)

Baby cinema sounds fun Blair I’ve got lunch in town tomorrow and need to decide whether to take a black cab - very indulgent but pt isn’t fun

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 18/09/2018 15:14

blair honestly, i would go for dresses right now if i were you, i know i did int he first six month after birth as I just couldn't for love nor money find trousers that fit like they should and i wound myself up over it so much and got really down over it and as soon as I stopped fixating on having to have trousers and bought skirts/dresses, i felt so much better. I put tons of weight on when i was pregnant plus obviously was carrying twins and trousers just were never going to cut it, at least for a few months. You WILL get back to trousers/jeans eventually but don't make yourself feel rubbish over it right now, your body has just gone through a big change, be kind to yourself and if dresses are the easier option right now, don't feel guilty for taking it Thanks

QueenCyan · 18/09/2018 15:27

More red and burgundy together with this jumper from oasis

MN Vogue Vol 83
MarshaBradyo · 18/09/2018 15:33

I can’t think does anyone know anywhere nice in the Belgravia area?
Nice food, comfy seats

QueenCyan · 18/09/2018 15:33

I’ve spent the day in bed again with this rotten cold.
blair glad its not just me that’s found the jeans weird! Maybe as one said you need to find some dresses? It’s such a horrid time when you’re still too big for your clothes but it’s such early days yet. I know people say bf is great for weight loss but it made me put on weight as I was constantly ravenous!
lib curatedcloset is definitely good for helping make considered purchases.
Absolutely no style news here to report. Wearing tracksuit trousers accessorised by swollen eyes and a red nose Grin. Really want to wear some of my new stuff but it’s got warm again (although raining today). I’ve spent a lot of time over the past couple of days browsing but the only things I like are like shop and are for a life I don’t lead!

Stokey · 18/09/2018 20:35

Sorry to hear you're coldy QueenC, I'm 10 days in & still snotty. Loved the green Jigsaw boots.

Shop & Marsha music mogul man very funny.

Marsha how nice? The Wolseley next door to The Ritz is lovely. I'm also partial to Fortnums. There's the ice-cream parlour which is quite relaxed & I think does real food or the deli downstairs where you can choose stuff from their meat, cheese & wine counter.

My cheap & cheerful choice in that vicinity is the Waterstones on Piccadilly. Great cafe/bar on the 5th floor.

maradesbois · 18/09/2018 20:46

Shop lol Grin
Zara often does good pointy boots. I just don’t think that round toe is you.

Marsha Elizabeth St is great for cafes. Maybe Dominique Ansel bakery or Baker & Spice?

Blair I second One that you may be comfier in dresses for the time being if you don’t mind tights. Maybe get one pair of stretchy skinnies to see you through the next few months too.

Lib am sure it’s the same one!

maradesbois · 18/09/2018 20:47

Stokey I wrote half my uni thesis at Waterstones Piccadilly, fond memories!

shopafrolic · 18/09/2018 22:26

Agree Mara I am not a round toe kind of girl. Wish I’d known that before spending £££ on round toed Gina shoes for my wedding day.

Fairysnow · 19/09/2018 03:39

Shop, i love love love those OS green boots - too bad they do not deliver to my region!

Blair, I now have those bracelets on my Christmas wishlist.

Lib, I am about to switch my wardrobe out for summer. I need some inspiration as to trends as well as summer is so long here.

But today it's cold and I am wearing this green dress with black knee boots and black Bayswater bag and a Zara black tweed coat with gold buttons (feels a bit sixties inspired).

FedupNagging · 19/09/2018 08:17

Everyone yes the shirt is fairly sheer. In fact I've found that with most thin fabric blouses which is what I prefer over thick cotton.

In fact, I'm going to have a moan now- does anyone else find most v necks too low? I wore the Whistles shirt at the weekend and was flashing most of my cleavage-luckily I had a white vest top with me (we were in a hotel) to put under. But this is the case with most of my v necks.

Sorry about the moan, I'll now get up and go to work- have a good day everyone.

QueenCyan · 19/09/2018 08:22

I’ll join in your moaning fedup. My head feels like it will explode with sinus pressure!
As for v necks sometimes they’re too low but I always wear the jigsaw modal vests which have a bit of lace at the top. At £29 they’re not cheap but now I won’t wear any other vest as I love the fit of them.

maradesbois · 19/09/2018 09:10

Morning!

Fairy your outfit sounds great, love Zara tweed.

Fedup good suggestion from QueenC, I really like the look ok lace camisole under slouchy low neck cashmere jumper. I also like undoing an extra button on shirts to avoid looking too preppy. Not for cleavage flash Grin just think for me it makes shirt tucked into jeans look less stuffy as have never managed to do that half tuck thing.

Shop I meant to say a while back what is it with the blah blah blah thing?!! Ds does it too, I thought it was just him, drives me insane

FedupNagging · 19/09/2018 09:45

Oh yes, dgs (6) says that too; I guess it's the latest version of 'whatevs' which my dc's used to say.

I have worn a vest with lace under a v neck but decided it wasn't a stylish look -no idea why, maybe I read it on mn somewhere 😂

Hope you feel better soon Queen

Stokey · 19/09/2018 09:54

Hotel Transylvania responsible for the blah, blah thing?

Forgot to say nice blouse Fedup. I do get annoyed with sheerness too. Sometimes it's too hot to wear a vest.
