finally bought something in good old primark, found a nice burgundy cord button thru a line skirt and some rust coloured cord shorts so bought those plus a rainbow striped turtle nexk thin sweater that will work layered under some of my dresses. There were some nice cord pinafore dresses but not in my size so will either go back to that branch to try for them again or find another branch and hope they have them in.

I think some of my skirts need taking up, i've been pondering and i do think i look smaller all over when my hemlines are shorter, i don't know why that should be but it's definitely a thing for me. Will ask MIL her advice on how best to hem them, i don't want to spoilt the skirts but i do think they'll look better shorter

maradesbois · 15/09/2018 21:53

Dry still no!

One lots of cord around atm, burgundy A-line skirt sounds lovely.

Vegas outfit ideas sound good, you want to feel yourself but the best of yourself, not for him but your own strength. I think the male mid-life crisis really is a thing and fully hear you on the ffs this is life get on with it, enjoy and appreciate what you have not blame someone else for your own shortcomings.

Such a lovely sunny day today, walked the length of kings rd today with ds on his scooter. Blew away the cobwebs from big dinner party last night where dh did us proud on the drinks front with grower champagne, vintage Bordeaux and Austrian sweet wine Wine Envy.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 15/09/2018 22:04

it is a really nice skirt mara and as an added bonus both the skirt and the shorts are 100% cotton, which given the were, respectively, £8 and £5, i'm really pleased with them. I quite fancy a green skirt int he same style/fabric, might have to see if i can hunt one down. I've grown bored of bright colours and i'm increasingly going back to dark greens, purples, burgundy/dark reds and black. I think me and brights have had our time and it's time for me to move on from them!

libertyonhertravels · 15/09/2018 22:12

Vegas good to hear from you, I have been wondering how you are. The outfit looks great but I echo Mara in saying dress for you.

Blingy I do love when you go on a shopping spree! I'd love the orange version of the R&B 'Mulberry rip off' bag for myself. Great buys and you have prompted me that I really need some new bras. DD told me the other day that my boobies looked sad - when I asked why, she pushed them up and said 'they look happier higher up' Shock Grin

Dry I love your DD's response to the boot dilemma.

Shop I think the green boots would be more wearable than the pink ones. But I am terrible for buying things I never wear so probably not the best to advise.

One sorry to hear you have been struggling with pain. I love the sound of the cord skirt. I think you are right about shorter lengths when you are short - more visible leg gives illusion of longer legs.

Good to hear from you too Blair and excellent post baby clothes shopping Smile.

I did a massive wardrobe clear out and dropped them off at a dress agency type shop so fingers crossed I make a bit of money. I'm not sure what I want for spring/summer and am so busy with work and house stuff I haven't had time to browse shops or online - Fairy are you around - what do you think is in for this summer in the southern hemisphere?

shopafrolic · 16/09/2018 16:12

Does anyone else have a major girl crush on Claudia W? I LOVE her, her shoot in this week's Style mag (animal print) is to die for

maradesbois · 17/09/2018 09:19

Morning!

Shop yes, love Claudia, wish she was my friend irl!

Total outfit fail, wearing a sweatshirt with massive sleeves, far too hot, it’s like summer here.

maradesbois · 17/09/2018 09:21

Shop I bought animal print for first time ever the other week, shirt dress from Zara, can’t remember if I linked it. May test at mu to see if you think I can do it.

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2018 10:33

Gosh I know so warm

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2018 10:36

I’m the only one I know who is irritated by CW I know I know

I was wondering if anyone had been to the Maldives, what time of year did you go? Is Easter too late? It’s later next year which is a shame

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2018 10:39

Although I could handle her a bit more in that bath clip just not her TV version

shopafrolic · 17/09/2018 11:26

Mara would love to see you in animal print
Marsha I love the way I can hear her voice when I read her articles
I have so many clothes I want to buy and nowhere to wear them, and no money to afford them Grin

QueenCyan · 17/09/2018 14:09

Sorry shop, I don’t share the CW love. She’s not in my hate category like VB or Alexa but she’s certainly not a crush of mine. Can see why she’s yours though.

mara I think I can see you in animal print.

Got a stinking cold here so have spent the day lazing around. Doing some chores made me feel breathless and light headed!!

QueenCyan · 17/09/2018 14:10

And agree with you on clothes and nowhere to wear them. I’ve had to stop myself ordering yet more blouses....

shopafrolic · 17/09/2018 19:36

Isn’t it strange QueenC - I don’t share your Kate Moss love. I wonder if it is to do with our differing style types?

shopafrolic · 17/09/2018 19:40

I decided today that I want green boots - but for daytime. Above ankle boots, mid height heel (not stiletto) that I can wear with turned up straight leg jeans. Anyone seen anything?

shopafrolic · 17/09/2018 19:42

These are good but I fancy leather

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2018 20:45

They’re nice Shop, loves the other ones too will keep an eye out

Mara I think you’d look great in that print, I think I can guess the dress

Found the burgundy and red chat interesting. I wouldn’t buy VB (disclaimer necessary) but I do like this take more - someone at VB is good at colour

MarshaBradyo · 17/09/2018 20:47

Kate Moss is still one of the most beautiful people to me, especially in Johnny Depp era.

DryWhiteagainW · 17/09/2018 21:11

Shop I’m like you. I have enough clothes but keep seeing stuff. My finger is so close to clicking on the dress my sis was wearing at a party on Saturday. I DONT need any more dresses but love it so.

I love CW...seems totally bonkers, down to earth and fun. Seems to be an intelligent, witty woman’s woman. I’d love to have a night out with her.

DryWhiteagainW · 17/09/2018 21:13

Oh and I felt fabulous in a Karen Millen dress and heels on Saturday. I just love wearing dresses and glamming up. Always feel awful in jeans

Not been to the Maldives Marsha but Sri Lanka & India are good at Easter. Hot but dry, pretty hot though - mid 30s. Should be perfect for lounging in an island paradise, not jealous at all.

Is it the zebra Mara? I've been meaning to try that one on but don't think colour is quite right. Am loving my zebra print Stories boots I got last year though.

Someone at work told me she would love my site collection - was rather flattered.

Think I'd like to go drinking with CW. Hard to know about Kate, she obvs a party animal but no real feeling of her personality.

Stokey · 17/09/2018 21:43

Arrgh shoe collection - my post is nonsensical.
