That whole anti-leopard thing bores me. People are so predictable in their responses to it. Bet Lynch wasn’t Bet Lynch because she had a penchant for leopard, it was the entire package - hair, earrings, skirt length, cleavage, make up, eyelashes - that was put together to make her the stereotype of ‘tough barmaid with a heart of gold’. Would I wear a leopard wiggle dress at 60? Probably not (but that’s because I wouldn’t do a wiggle dress). But would I wear a pair of leopard trainers (tick), leopard utility jacket (tick), loose leopard tee (tick), flowing leopard maxi skirt (soon to be ticked). I wouldn’t wear them all together, but then I wouldn’t wear the same pattern of anything - florals/stripes/abstracts at the same time, because it would all clash and I like a more understated look. Half the time I love S&B, especially when you get fantastic long running threads like this one, the rest of the time I find that it’s restrictive, controlling and tries to make women fit into a set of acceptable rules. The patriarchy is alive and well here. :(.
