Holy shit - first bikini wax!

Scottishlassie81 · 31/05/2018 14:19

Just had my first wax ever at lunchtime and I chose a Hollywood bikini wax! In at the deep end.

I thought it would be painful but not too bad and I have several tattoos.

Oh my god! It was agony!

I'm scared to look at it!

*Incomparable with how it feels when unwaxed

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/06/2018 14:13

It’s meant to be strip wax for legs or arms, hot wax everywhere else incl face.

Look for a Kim lawless trained waxer.

Scottishlassie81 · 01/06/2018 14:31

LOL madmomma I shall investigate that over the weekend Wink

Anyone talking about anything except the pain of waxing and recommending alternatives can toddle the fuck off as I care not a jot.

I just wanted to share my shock at the pain of my first bikini wax at the ripe old age of 38, full stop.

I am grateful for all the info on hot wax. I shall not let a strip near me and will report back if/when i try the hot wax.

Oh god! Hot wax only in your bits!

senioritabonita · 01/06/2018 14:44

To those asking why- I have a wax because post dc I struggled to maintain sexual response and was starting to go off sex. I researched the problem and tried a few things one of which was waxing. It's been used by women to increase sexual response for millennia. It works for me and means dh and I continue to enjoy a good sexy life after 25 years marriage. Dh literally couldn't care less whether I am hairy or waxed and I often have unwaxed (I've never shaved any body hair) legs and arm pits.

I find the 'he must be a weird peado' accusations odd. Dh shaves his face and no one says I am a sex offender.

I’m a beauty therspist & the Lycon Pinkini Wax is the best. A pre wax oil is applied & stops the wax sticking to the skin. Jax Wax (Adam & Eve) in Bluebell is really good too. Stripwax should never be used for bikini waxing.

madmomma · 01/06/2018 15:56

Exactly what Bonita said. If I didn't wax I'd only be having minimal sex. It makes all the difference in my marriage

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 02/06/2018 11:39

Diamond, I actually prefer strip waxing for everything, including bikini. I don't much like hot wax as I personally find it more painful and I really don't want my beautician picking and flicking away at hardened wax down there - or anywhere else.

Whatever is best for the client is what should be used.

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/06/2018 12:03

You can tear skin using stripwax. It’s cheap though, compared to hot.

TheGreatestHo · 02/06/2018 12:07

Why would you want to remove pubic hair, a nice healthy sign of adult womanhood, in order to look like a prepubescent child?

Look, I don’t look anything like a prepubescent child in the clothes I perform in 😂😂😂

TheGreatestHo · 02/06/2018 12:08

@madmomma yes! 🙌 probably up there with the top reason 😂

DragonMamma · 02/06/2018 12:09

I get a Hollywood (including bum hole!) every 4-5 weeks with hot wax and it’s nowhere near as painful as it was when I first started but I love it and couldn’t face shaving etc. again.

I do it for me and definitely want sex more when I’m not furry!

DragonMamma · 02/06/2018 12:10

Oh and I don’t look pre-pubescent. At all. The tattoos and piercings put paid to that.

Nothisispatrick · 02/06/2018 12:19

Women who get waxed do not look like pre-pubescent children full stop. My pregnant belly and stretch mark boobs make sure of that. Pubes are not the only thing that make you look like an adult, it is such a ridiculous argument.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/06/2018 12:30

People have always removed body hair because it looks and feels more aesthetically pleasing

In your, and their opinion. It's not a universal belief by any means.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 02/06/2018 15:02

Do we really have to prefix everything with "In my opinion" now? Or can we just take it as read that if we mean somebody else's opinion we'll reference them?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 02/06/2018 15:46

The statement made was phrased as fact, not opinion.

FreeMantle · 02/06/2018 15:54

I recently started waxing as a very hairy person going on a cruise ( showers are too tiny for a proper shave).
Bloody amazing not having to worry about regrow th or shaving or stray hairs ( remember I am super hairy).
Also much easier cleaning up after the loo etc.

Leg hair I see now is the con. It benefits women not at all to shave their legs. Getting rid of excess pubes, works out fabulously.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/06/2018 16:00

"If you look at history there is plenty of evidence that ancient civilizations often removed body hair. 2

Mainly in hot countries though, I think.
Getting rid of everything is quite a recent thing here though.

Loobyloomicles · 02/06/2018 16:11

Another person saying hell no to strip wax on a bikini line! Shock The difference is huge. I do eyebrows and will only use a very thin (less than 1mm) line of strip wax to shape them and then use hot wax for the rest. My DH happily lets me do his nostrils with hot wax, I can't even begin to imagine the expletives I'd hear if I did them with strip wax...

SickofPeterRabbit · 02/06/2018 16:15

Anyone else had anal hair removed? Did that hurt? Were you embarrassed? I seem to have a lot of hair there and it drives me crazy

My waxes NEVER got less painful. The last time I had one it was so fucking painful I promised myself I would NEVER put myself through that again. The beauty therapist actually commented how tough my hair roots were, like little tree trunks apparently Hmm. That was after regular waxing.

So I decided to splurge on laser hair removal and I can't sing it's praises loudly enough I LOVE IT

Sevendown · 02/06/2018 16:39

I just don’t get how they can get all the hair off without quite a lot of ‘fidgeting’ with your labia etc.

Confused
