Also yes red is defo good in summer. Love a red dress. Dh and ds are partial to a red trouser too.

Everyone what a shame about the bag. In France huge ones are absolutely a thing but as you say more for carrying all your beach stuff than strolling round town.

Lib yes I was thinking about our lovely wine bar meet up too!

Marsha good luck for dd stuff, hope progress is being made.

My bargain of the week is this shirt for ds for smart summer, found exactly the same in tk maxx for £16.99. Love the embroidered bees!

Shop I think red is a classic colour. Of course you should wear it. I'm not keen on these "looking expensive" threads, no room for individuality and there are plenty of expensive/chic looking women who don't dress classically.

Now you're making me feel I actually really do need a wicker bag for the summer....may pop to TKMaxx and have a look.

Just returned from a flying trip to France . Packed extremely light. Red loafers and Gucci Disco were met with nods of approval, think I got my clothes right.

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/05/2018 13:02

I love the idea of kimonos too. This is the one I ordered from mint velvet, kimono, as though it would look good with jeans / denim shorts. But unfortunately it didn’t suit me. Also, as lib said, polyester in the heat isn’t always a great idea.

mara now I’ve got over the hugeness of the bag (#baggate Grin ) it isn’t as bad as I thought. However I can’t take it away next week as it does fill the case and there’s no way I can pack round it, but it will be ok when we go to Cornwall in august or days out to the beach during the summer.

QueenCornflower · 17/05/2018 13:10

You’d look fab in that kimono shop.

QueenCornflower · 17/05/2018 16:01

Update on the warehouse order.....
these are lovely. Fit well, flattering...but...I have no top that would go with them. They’re fairly high waisted and need something fitted. So they’re going back
these are lovely too. Would need taking up if I wanted to wear with flats but again need a fitted top
these are so high waisted I look like simon cowell Grin

So what I’ve learnt is...
Warehouse trousers fit me better than Oasis (which I always knew but forgot)
Wide legs/culottes actually look ok on me but it would mean investing in new tops
For now I’ll stick with my skinny bottoms and looser tops. But it’s been fun trying out new shapes even if I’ve got the hassle of returns!

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/05/2018 20:25

Shame about all the trousers queenc but at least you’ve discovered a few things even if you haven’t kept any.

I’m not sure about that ‘paperbag’ Style. I think you need to be tall and / or slim to get away with it. I would just look like a sack of potatoes Grin.

shopafrolic · 17/05/2018 20:33

QueenC I need to look at links when I'm back on my laptop.
I"m going through holiday buys with MrShop he is in a good mood and has told me I need something to tie my hair back, some sunglasses and a beach bag to add to my list!
So my question today - what do you all use as a beach bag please?

QueenCornflower · 17/05/2018 22:27

shop this year it will be my primark straw flamingo bag. I think previous to that I had a silver bag from John Lewis. I’m not a fan of expensive beach bags as they get covered in sand/suncream etc.

shopafrolic · 17/05/2018 22:53

Silver would be good. I never understand how people get straw bags on holiday? Do they use them as hand luggage? I want to spend £50 max. There are a few ‘shopper’ type options at The Dressing Room that I might take a look at. Am loving your new found flamingo vibe QueenC

Everyonelovessparkles · 18/05/2018 08:33

Re beach bags, pre DC (when I had a whole suitcase to myself!) I used to have one of those canvas types of beach bag. Since DC I tend to use my le pilage bag which I also use as my hand luggage too. Though we tend to have a million bags now Grin with buckets and spades etc This is why I wanted a nice new straw Beach bag but look how that turned out 😳😭
I think it might depend on the size of the straw bag shop. fedup said that she fills her bag with small stuff, towels, toiletries etc then kind of packs round and over the rest of it.

I saw this nice pineapple bag in John Lewis the other day and it looked good. Accessorise is usually a good place to look for holiday stuff if you don’t see anything in the dressing room.

Another nice morning 😎 and it’s friday!

shopafrolic · 18/05/2018 09:17

Oh that's cute Everyone
There are some lovely Kayu ones on MyTheresa and NaP too but I need to check sizes. Also a good White Company one. I don't want to link until I purchase something.......
I'm frantically cleaning and ironing like a nutter. ILs are coming for the weekend - it's the only time my house gets a decent clean Grin

QueenCornflower · 18/05/2018 09:34

I love that pineapple one everyone.
The other place for cheap and cheerful is primark.
When I bought a massive basket bag the other year I used it as hand luggage on the way home.
I’m at work-hate doing Fridays as it’s lonely as hardly anyone in the office especially at my end. You’d think it would motivate me to work harder but it doesn’t Grin

maradesbois · 18/05/2018 10:18

Shop if I were in the market for a nice basket under £50 I’d get one from this brand beldy. Am not though as a big anya h one I got a few years ago at Bicester, it packs flat which is good-see photo. Also have the cult Gaia ark bag from last year. Still like it but annoyed about how ubiquitous they became and now ripped off everywhere. Had I known would probably not have bought it but do really like the design. Sophie Anderson bags often have prices slashed in sales but am personally not that keen.

Everyone will the big bastard basket Grin definitely not work as hand luggage?

Am on tenterhooks waiting for interview feedback, think it went v well but such a competitive industry. Really want this one!

Gorgeous Beldy bags Mara
I really hope you get a positive result with the interview. Keeping everything crossed for you x
I am coveting an oversized circle one - I will check if they ship to the UK. There is also a Mango one that is cotton that I have my eye on.
DH has been generous in terms of what I can spend but I can't until June so I am pinning everything I have my eye on to a private board. It includes a Me&em dress, Whistles blouse, Boden or Stories bikinis and the Castañer espadrilles. I've just booked all my beauty treatments so it's starting to feel real now.
one you must be off any day now?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 18/05/2018 11:27

four and a half days until we're off Shop goign up to see Ds today/tomorrow and then as soon as i get back, i've got to finish packing and make sure any laundry is done, that we've got everything we need, we know where it is and we've got a taxi booked. I know Dp could and would do most of the things but he's much more laid back than me about it and he'd leave packing til an hour before we go whereas i can't do that!

MarshaBradyo · 18/05/2018 11:56

Exciting One you’ve been looking forward to it now it’s nearly here, love that feeling

Mara exciting too!, hope you hear soon

MarshaBradyo · 18/05/2018 11:57

How annoying Everyone big bastard basket made me laugh Wink

MarshaBradyo · 18/05/2018 11:58

Shop I’m a bit slack re beach bags and just get dh to stuff it all in a back pack Shock I’m clearly missing out on a buying opportunity there Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 18/05/2018 12:03

There are some bags on that site mara. Yes it’s a shame about the cult Gaia bag, it was just too instagram friendly! Not sure BBB Grin will fit as hand luggage as it would just get too squashed in the overhead locker and no way would it fit under the seat in front! I’ll probably just end up just trying the JL pineapple one......

Have a lovely time with your DS one. My DH sounds similar to yours -he always packs at the last minute and then realises half of what he wants to take needs washing (despite me asking for days in advance if anything needs washing) Hmm.

FedupNagging · 18/05/2018 13:02

In the days when we had young dc's we'd use an ikea bag for all our beach bits but now my current bag is the one in the fist pic. I've used my pliage from time to time too (the most hard working bag ever)

Circle bags are now firmly on my radar and following me around the Internet - really like the large bags which would look super stylish as a beach bag. If I give in and purchase one, it will be similar to the second pic.

Shop I've found a reasonably priced large circle bag but can't pm on app (& don't want to link) so will whatsapp you in a mo.

Also love this bag but no way will it squash in a suitcase or overhead locker

shopafrolic · 18/05/2018 21:01

Loving all the bag ideas and thanks Fedup for the What’sApp.
Marsha unlike you to miss a buying opportunity? Shock

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2018 08:19

I know! I’d like a straw one will have to hunt around

Nice day for a wedding, looking forward to seeing the dress pics, meet you all back here to see what you think

maradesbois · 19/05/2018 09:50

Love a royal wedding Marsha, watching the build up with coffee looking out onto sunny garden. Spotted a beautiful guest dress worn by Blunters’s girlfriend(?)
