What should I buy in Superdrug?

I’ve read on here they do a good version of Hot Cloth cleanser.

Is there anything else I can treat myself to? There isn’t a branch near me but tomorrow I’m off on a jolly somewhere else!

OP posts:
squoosh · 13/04/2018 22:39

I hear ya OP.

We didn't have Boots in Ireland when I was a teen so any time we got to go to NI or England there was MUCH excitement about the trip to the hallowed halls of Boots the Chemist. MUCH excitement.

Stuff from Superdrug that's worth a look is

Naturally radiant glycolic acid pads
Garnier 3 in 1 balm is half price at the moment (makes a great mask or night cream)
Simply Pure Hydrating Serum
Freedom eyebrow pomade
There's a lot of love (although I wasn't personally impressed by it) for the Revolution Conceal and Define Concealer. It's said to be similar to Tarte's.
Hand Rescue Balm
ELF setting spray or the Makeup Revolution setting spray

HoarseMackerel · 13/04/2018 22:40

MUA setting powder is good.
I was still using traditional face powder and finding it made me look a bit creased!
This is great to fix foundation.
Barry M highlighting liquid. Mix it with foundation for a glow. I'm using the white one but have tried the gold. Will be good for summer!
I like the sound of the serum. Will look myself tomorrow!

Daisymay2 · 13/04/2018 22:51

If you are a gas permeable contact. lens wearer they often have Boston cleaner and soaking solution for £8 for 2 items.

pinkpanther84 · 13/04/2018 22:55

Vitamin E eye cream and night cream are great and so cheap!Smile

SapphireSeptember · 14/04/2018 00:29

I don't know if you want make up recommendations, but here you go anyway... GOSH lipsticks, (they've also brought out some new eyeliners I'm sorely tempted to buy) B cosmetics eyeliners, Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palettes, and both they and Make Up Academy do amazing highlighters, and MUA have lovely liquid lipsticks too. It's 3 for 2 on make up as well at the moment, I've indulged myself as it's payday and because Makeup Revolution are relaunching their range and I want to get the things I want before they're gone! (Highlighters mainly, I like being sparkly.)

squoosh · 14/04/2018 01:27

Sapphire the GOSH eyeliners are great. The Velvet Touch ones and the Metal Eyes ones (which are v Urban Decay like.)

Doingreat · 14/04/2018 10:23

I keep hearing great things about the superdrug pure hydrating serum. I'm starting to think i need it in my life asap.
What does it actually do and how do I use it? Can I use under foundation to keep skin moisturized?

Lottapianos · 14/04/2018 12:15

Doin, there are two of the Simply Pure serums, day and night. The night one is richer and may be ok under make up without moisturizer, depends how dry your skin is. They are both brilliant for making skin look and feel plumper and smoother. Loads better than the Vichy Aqualia serum that I tried for 6 times the price

Fullfatlatte · 14/04/2018 12:25

Def recommend their Glycolic acid pads & the overnight peel. Previous posts about the Vitamin E range has reminded me how much I used to love it in my 20/30’s (guess what I’ll be buying later!). Thanks Mumsnetters! 😀

Doingreat · 14/04/2018 13:15

@lotta, thanks for that. Which would you recommend if i was to layer with moisturizer or facial oil? I normally apply facial oil after cleansing so the day one might be better?

LadyOfTheCanyon · 14/04/2018 13:26

The Pure serum is brilliant, and trust me, I've tried ones from £5 to £150. I have dry dehydrated skin prone to redness and it works so well.

The Vit E/ Radiance cleanser are both brilliant. I prefer the radiant because I like the smell more. That range's serum/moisturiser hybrid is also very good.

Garnier Micellar water ( pink lid) is a great dupe for Bioderma at twice the price. It's often on special but watch the price per ml as they catch you out sometimes and it's cheaper to buy two small than one big.

MUR/ Sleek/ e.l.f are all great for cheap make up. I've not had as much luck with the eyeshadow palettes as some people but their lipsticks, eyeliners, concealers are all good.

If you wear fairly standard perfumes they sometimes have great deals/ clearances.

nothingwittyhere · 14/04/2018 16:18

They sell a dehydrated konjac sponge in the bath stuff section for a few pounds which is a great gentle face smoother. Much cheaper than the posh ones but exactly the same once soaked.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2018 16:28

I bought some brow gel, annoyingly no testers so I took pot-luck and went for mid-brown.
Got some face-scrub for DH

I had a looksie at the suncare , don't need it yet but there's a Factor 50 spray which I'll get for DS . I like coconut smells so I'll go in when its quieter and snff some Blush

Good thing to note , glitter Superdrugs ownbrands are cruelty free (look for the Leaping Bunny)

Youradviceneeded · 14/04/2018 16:36

The MUA palettes of twelve eyeshadow are amazing. I like the Undressed palette, which is £4. Such good value and I wear eight of the twelve colours, which is unheard of for me in a palette at any price. I've bought it twice and wear them everyday.

I've taken notes from the thread too! Really fancying the glycolic peel.

Youradviceneeded · 14/04/2018 16:38

I agree Lady about the pink lidded bottle of Garnier micellar water being good. I have used bioderma and I did prefer it, but not enough to pay what is, I think, about four times the price. I bought the 400ml Garnier one for about a fiver at the beginning of the year and I still have some left. I use it everyday.

Fullfatlatte · 14/04/2018 17:09

Stock up on your Glycolic acid pads, the Naturally Radiant range is all half price - £2.95 for the pads! 😀

Lottapianos · 14/04/2018 20:36

Doin, use serum, then oil after. By the way I am absolutely chuffed with Nivea Rich Day Cream (pink lid) which is my current day moisturiser

Nicpem1982 · 14/04/2018 21:10

This year I've been a total superdrug convert

My favourite products are

Vitamin e range
Body cream
Oil moisturiser
Body scrub
Face scrub
Moisturising mask
Day cream with spf
Night cream

Fruit extracts shower gel

Coconut
Daiquiri
Cherry and almond

Coconut and almond shampoo and conditioner

Destress clay mask

Peppermint and tea tree foot mask

And any make up revolution product

mammmamia · 14/04/2018 22:14

I also like the avocado shampoo

LostInShoebiz · 14/04/2018 22:21

I wish the Vitamin E range would expand out to combination skin. I love it so much but it just doesn't agree with my oily skin so I end up buying it and rubbing it on my hands then having a good sniff.

slippermaiden · 14/04/2018 22:34

Anything own brand as they all have the leaping bunny, so are cruelty free! I like the pale green face care stuff, face wash, scrub and moisturiser best x

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 14/04/2018 22:38

Oh the Avocado shampoo - I got a free gift shampoo/conditioner ( IIRC with 3 hair product purchase) it was Avocado&Honey, really liked it.

I used the Revolution eyebrow tint (paint it on, look like Robbie Rotten for 2 hours then peel it off) it has darkened my brows and its meant to last 3 days , we'll see.

TheScottishPlay · 14/04/2018 22:48

The Satsuma shower gel is fab.
All of their own brand skincare and cosmetics is not tested on animals either.

TheScottishPlay · 14/04/2018 22:50

I love Superdrug too OP, I'm like a kid in a sweetie shop when I shop there too!
