Ok, so are these jeans meant to be the new look?

So following on from the skinny jeans threads I have been doing some online research and I'm googling girlfriend jeans came across some on the Isabel marant website... I must be getting old as I would look terrible in any of those....

They just look like assorted shapes and styles of jeans to suit a variety of shapes and sizes of women. I like the look of the girlfriend ones and i am 55. My DD's would wear some of the other styles. They are nice.

Definite yes to the girlfriend fit. The cropped length is very flattering but wtf are you meant to do if it’s cold? Knee high pop socks as per the bare feet shoe shopping thread?! As for the cabrio style or the oversize boyfriends though... can’t see myself (or anyone) in those anytime soon.

The styling is very poor but I would wear a couple of them.

ferrier Hush boyfriend jeans are my favourite, they are great quality denim and cut really nicely. I would not say it's a new trend, they've been around for years now. I would say they are worth the price, I virtually live in mine.

The hush jeans are great! I’d definitely wear those. I’d be all over them if it weren’t for the fact that I’m in the US so would have to pay £13 delivery plus important duty and local tax (yes I’ve checked).

I like loads of those Marant Jeans, particularly the first pair.

My DD2 would wear the Cabrio jeans. She is very tall and slim and styles like that look lovely on her.

I like the hush ones, the other ones I can't imagine suiting anyone.

Maybe it is the styling. I would wear the first pair but only in the summer I think.

To be honest, even the silly baggy ones look better to me than the fucking hideous godawful curse of the FUCKING SKINNY JEAN that has been haunting us for about eight years now. I haven't bought jeans since 2010 because everything but everything is that fucking horrific skinny cut which looks good on precisely 2% of people and makes me look like the Titanic.

I almost wept when I saw that wider leg jeans are finally back. I might actually wear denim again. I don't care about things being in fashion but if they're literally not being sold anywhere what can you do?

I love the Hush ones but don't know if I can justify forking out that much! They do look worth it though. My current boyfriend jeans are from H & M, purchased in 2015. They are still looking good and would get H & M ones again tbh.

Those Corby ones are just horrendous, imo. Especially with those boots; I hate those cone heels. I'm sure it's a very fashionable look but it just looks ugly to me.

Cropped wide leg jeans are the in thing atm. I'm not convinced though.

Nice to see a bit of variety. I agree with PoorYorick that 90%+ of jeans in the shops are just skinny jeans, not much else!

I LOVE girlfriend jeans. Skinny jeans are too hot in the Summer. I feel like Spring has Sprung now that I’ve got my ankles out!

Yes I think so or you need to have fabulous ankles. I think the cropped look make a lot of legs look stumpy especially the wide ones with all the material flapping about, even the model looks shit.

Have you seen these shorts from Pretty Little Thing? Apparently sold out, I’d take your cropped jeans any day over these!

Those Hush ones are nice but all the others are hideous!

That's why we shouldn't be listening to idiot stylists designers fashionista but just wearing what we like and feel good in. The nonsense that they bring out, some of those jeans look like they've been stolen from lumberjacks. It's ludicrous! The models don't even look happy in them.
