So I've been eyeing up a pair of these bad boys for a while but have been put off by we people saying they don't stay on their feet. I've seen some of their styles now have an ankle strap which I don't usually like to wear as it can make legs look shorter. So what do you reckon to Palmairas?

I've got 9 pairs 🙊🙊🙊

dissapointedafternoon · 05/04/2018 17:08

They go with everything 😝

SwedishEdith · 05/04/2018 17:12

I got some cheap ones on holiday. They are very flat and the strap does not stay on. Feel uneasy walking downstairs in them so only use them for going into the garden.

mickeymacca · 05/04/2018 17:14

Ooh I need a pic of those disappointed ☺

Swedishedith were they actually Palmairas? I'm considering the low wedge

No, but they look exactly the same.

SwedishEdith · 05/04/2018 17:21

The wedges look nice. For comparison, I can't wear ballet shoes as they're too flat for me and my feet just lift out of those when I walk.

HeyRoly · 05/04/2018 17:24

Had to google the style - oh, it's those! Grin

I have a couple of pairs of the Avarca (?) brand from TK Maxx. I love them and I have huge problems keeping ballet flats on my feet. So it's a yes from me. But I prefer to pay much less than forty quid.

I’ve got a wedge pair and the strap stays on fine. They’re tan coloured and the leather scuffs/scratches quite easily imo.

dontcallmelen · 05/04/2018 18:14

I love mine, I have quite a few pairs that I bought in Menorca I find them really comfortable.

TheWoollybacksWife · 05/04/2018 18:17

I bought a pair of the leather low wedges last year and I love them. I walked miles and miles in them and they were so comfortable straight away. I'm planning to get the tan nubuck this year.

TheCraicDealer · 05/04/2018 18:22

I have a pair of the low wedges in the gold glitter. Very comfy and no issues with them staying on. Even wore them on an xmas do with black skinnies Grin

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 05/04/2018 18:29

i had to google as well-and this chat came up in the search Wink

I think very cute but I have sturdy peasant ankles-despite having reasonably slim legs-so not sure if they'd suit me-
any other sturdy ankles out there wearing them?

TheCraicDealer · 05/04/2018 18:35

I am extremely cankle-y and they're grand. There's nothing to cut off your foot so have a rather slimming effect.

Queenio24 · 05/04/2018 19:18

They are very flat, and do a slap-slap noise as you walk. The strap slips off mine, andcthey scuffed quickly. However, they go with shorts, dresses cropped pants so very versatile. I got a gold pair and initially was delighted but ended up disappointed. Personally I wouldn't bother with another pair.

Fabellini · 05/04/2018 19:25

There are lots of versions about just now, you don’t need to pay as much as £40 if you’re not sure about them.
These look pretty good, are available in loads of colours and are £25.

ememem84 · 05/04/2018 19:29

Oh ffs. I had no idea what these were.

Now I need them too. In either a metallic or a leopard print.

Queenio24 · 05/04/2018 19:41

Mine were £20 in tmaxx last year.

JintyandtheJs · 05/04/2018 20:30

Years ago stayed in quiet place in Spain with youth club ( cheap booze). The youngsters all wore them with strap tucked to the front so like slip ons with xtra strap .Stayed on much better tho strap edge bit rough to start- sorted with nail file.Worn mine like that since!

user1955 · 05/04/2018 20:37

How good are they with plantar fasciitis? Fit flops are ok for me, but not Birkenstocks.

JintyandtheJs · 05/04/2018 20:39

No good at all v thin soles!

user1955 · 05/04/2018 20:42

I did think that might be the case, but I was hopefully as they look lovely. Thank you.

Twinklyfaerieglade · 05/04/2018 20:53

Never heard of them. Just had a browse now £45 poorer!

mickeymacca · 05/04/2018 22:04

Thanks guys great responses 👍 I'm still not sure I want to pay that much particularly as there are about 4 pairs I want 😳 😁
