How much jewellery do you wear?

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 17:13

I don't usually wear much - gold watch, pearl studs, occasionally a ring.

Quite like that heavily laden look on some people though. Thinking of buying a stash of clunky, jingling bracelets...

Just diamonds for me too

One diamond ring (my grandmother's) on the third finger of my right hand. Nothing else.

NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:42

PAFC - why can't you wear the same everyday?!!!

McDreamy · 05/05/2007 17:42

stud earrings
necklace
wedding ring
engagement ring

PeterAndreFanCLub · 05/05/2007 17:43

you need to mach jewellery to outfit

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 17:43

actually come to think of it I've almost never worn a necklace.

Wondering why actually. If I'm going to do it, I should do it soon before my neck is all crumpled and my chest collapses...

my watch and err that's about it I think.

Sometimes wear wedding ring if I remember/can be bothered but it's far too big for me (bought it when I was pregnant).

Have a few necklaces but only wear them v occasionally. Don't have ears pierced.

PeterAndreFanCLub · 05/05/2007 17:44

for eg in court
wear sedate jewlwlery that isnt a bangle as i cant write wiht that on

out of court BIG hoops of sroppy earrings

NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:44

PAFC - you have made the assumption I change outfit! Ha! Jeans and white t-shirt every day

DarrellRivers · 05/05/2007 17:44

admittedly sometimes add in some accesorize cheapy items, the odd necklace or bangle but most days stick to basics
do need a nice diamond necklace now however....

Gobbledigook · 05/05/2007 17:45

Always - watch, wedding and engagement ring, ring on other hand, diamond stud earrings.

Wear different necklaces, bracelets and bangles every day depending on what I'm wearing. Usually change earrings if going out.

MrsBadger · 05/05/2007 17:45

ssandy, go to Claire's and buy £5 worth of bangles - they are cheapy mccheap and will make you happy

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 17:47

noodle are you Georgio Armani?

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 05/05/2007 17:48

necklaces are fun sssandy....and I find you're less likely to twiddle with stuff on your neck (as opposed to bangles which get in the way of everything)

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 17:48

ooh Mrs B, you gave me the go-ahead! Now that came from the official style guru of MN so I'm feeling a shopping attack coming on...

So is a charm bracelet ok, or is that out?

OP posts:
NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:49

SSandy - you guessed!

womba1 · 05/05/2007 17:50

I always wear my gold wedding ring, engagemant ring and eternity ring on left hand and a gold bangle.

Gold thumb ring on right hand and my watch.

Normally also wear a gold chain and locket and gold stud earrings. For special occasions, will wear different chain and earrings.

I love all these costume jewelary bits but i can't wear anything other than gold... my skin turns black and green. I'm sure my dh thinks it's just a ploy to make him buy me expensive stuff...as if i would...

PeterAndreFanCLub · 05/05/2007 17:50

thumb rings no
no mnore than ONE ring per hand imfo

NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:52

PAFC - if you have a wedding ring, an engagement ring & eternity ring are you not allowed to wear them all at once?!! [hides hands under keyboard]

womba1 · 05/05/2007 17:52

I love my thumb ring...feels odd if i take it off!

MrsBadger · 05/05/2007 17:52

personally I say No to charm bracelets or any bracelets with Bits Dangling Off Them - they're too frilly for my taste.
hence I say plain bangles, but mixture of wooden, plastic, metal glass etc

I bought oodles of really cheap bangles in Asia and they always cheer me up. No good for typing though, as PorkyPete says.

SSSandy2 · 05/05/2007 17:52

must be some good makeup out there that makes you look like you got an allergic rash. I feel a creative urge coming on... Feel I definitely need a bit more jewellery.

Does this mean I'm middle-aged?

OP posts:
PeterAndreFanCLub · 05/05/2007 17:52

no one hadn
wedding and engagement
other eternity

NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:54

Phew!
So where do you all get your jewellery? Tiffany or Clares or inherited?
Given by loved one or bought by self?

NoodleStroodle · 05/05/2007 17:54

I will start ball rolling with bangle I inherited from DD from Clare's.

womba1 · 05/05/2007 17:55

SSS... seriously, my skin does stain! It isn't an allergic reaction because it isn't sore or itchy...but i just look as if i haven't washed in ages and i have to scrub at my skin to get the black/green off!!
