Just done bra intervention- this can't be right, can it?

Pretty small of bust, I generally wear 32B. I've tried bras of this size in the past and breast tissue hasn't filled the cup, so it's a bit hit or miss whether I even think I'm this size, rather than an A.

I've just done the Bra or Bust intervention thing. Apparently I'm a 28 E. Whaaaat? This can't be right can it, especially as I don't have enough breast tissue to even fill a B cup most of the time...

Does the intervention not work for those small of nork?

Just shown dd how to measure so we can go shopping today. Discovered I am now a 30E after losing some weight! So will be shopping for me too it seems.

My current everyday bras are gossard glossies like this

www.figleaves.com/uk/gossard-glossies-sheer-bra/GO-6271.html

Although I'm a reasonably large size - 30f - I don't need all the support and wide straps that a lot of the large cup sizes seem to give. I'm also quite narrow across the shoulder and these have straps that are set slightly further in.

I agree Soul, the bras are so ugly.

I've bought a nice 32E one from M&S. It doesn't feel huge on the back.

hello -I know this is an old/ongoing thread but am hoping for some advice.
I measured myself (boob or bust) and came out as 40FF - I know the general rule of thumb on these threads is that not many people are 40 - I am a size 18 so feasible?

Anyway, the bras I was wearing were not fitting - straps falling off and I failed on the two fingers under the back strap rule ( you could have set up camp there). I read on here from @SwimmingInTheBlueLagoon that to go down a back size but adjust on cups. Accordingly I bought 38G and 38GG yesterday. The 38G was tight to put on but didn't feel like enough cup room (having said that I don't think it was a style that suited). 38GG feels better on cups but doesn't feel as tight - fails the back pull test -admittedly not as badly - and I've had to tighten straps.

I'm confused! I thought the "tightness" comes from the 38 not the cup size so why would these two 38s from the same brand (fantasie) feel different? And secondly, if the 38GG isn't right should I try 36GG or 36H?

Lweji · 29/03/2018 18:36

The tighteness on the band can be increased by cups that are too small, because the band is pulled forward.
Try both bras back to front to see if the band feels the same.

But, if you are happy with your GG cup, then, do try the 36H.

In any case, I'd always try sizes either side of what you intend to buy, particularly if you are not used to how a good bra fits.

Remember to scoop the breast tissue into the cups to make sure they fit well and look for any spillage.

Thanks Lweji - I'll try the backwards putting on and see how that goes!

Boob intervention was the best thing I have done.

I was wearing 40D which would gape Nd had no support.

I now wear a 36G or H and have fantastic looking books and no back ache.

Anyone any idea how the bravissimo own make bras fit in relation to other makes. Tend to wear Fantasie or curvy Kate

Arunica80 · 20/01/2025 22:21

I've been wearing 34dd Bras for several years and now realised I was wearing the wrong size, I'm actually a 32F

The sizing can be inconsistent in some Bravissimo styles BUT the bras are much better quality than Curvy Kate and imo much nicer than Fantasie. Look at the review for each bra and it'll tell you whether customers think they come up big or small.
