Should I go for the chop????

I’m getting my hair done next week. It’s not looking great (not been done for 6 months). I always have my hair long and have the hairdresser do balayage (blonde) in with my natural colour (red).

I’m considering getting quite a lot off. I did it once when I was 20, I’m 29 now. I really, really regretted it last time but I’m a lot older now. What should I do? Am I having a moment of madness? Please help!

Tbh unless you are going for a 'style', long I layered hair looks pretty much the same at any length. You may as well just let it grow.

SouthWestmom · 10/02/2018 19:17

Autocorrect sorry.

Long unlayered hair

QueenOfSpades6 · 10/02/2018 19:22

Another picture of it. I was considering going shoulder length. Which is what I did when I was 20 but disliked it but it’s 10 years on so I was considering trying again.

I'd cut it to where your hair meets the top of your sleeve.

BadTasteFlump · 10/02/2018 19:45

Maybe have some more long layers cut in and a flicky fringe?

Aridane

Don’t agree withShittyTown - lovely thickness of hair

Umm - her name is Shuttytown. Lol

RoseWhiteTips · 10/02/2018 21:28

So much passive agggressiveness on this thread.

squoosh · 10/02/2018 21:47

Person posts picture on internet asking for opinions on her hair. Some people think it's lovely as it is, others think it would look better in a shorter style. I don't think the OP is insulted?

ShuttyTown · 11/02/2018 10:37

@RoseWhiteTips GrinGrin I assumed Ariadne was being passive aggressive with her 'spelling mistake' 😂😂

Its beautiful hair, it really is but in the first picture it looks as though its dragging your face down & making you look like you have a long face.

When considering a new style make sure you know how long it takes to get ready in the morning, if its high maintenance do you have the time for example?

SouthernFox · 11/02/2018 11:50

It's lovely hair, really beautiful. But I think it would look even better a bit shorter. I'd just take a bit off at a time and stop when you're ready.

SarahBeeney · 11/02/2018 12:24

If it grows quickly then I say go for a big chop.

QueenOfSpades6 · 17/02/2018 01:06

Went for the chop 💇‍♀️

That's lovely not a drastic chop like what I first envisioned. It looks so healthy and the colour is fab.

Labradoodliedoodoo · 17/02/2018 05:39

Looks great!

Labradoodliedoodoo · 17/02/2018 05:40

Much better shape

Estellanpip · 17/02/2018 08:35

Love it! Hope you do too.

DottyDotts · 17/02/2018 08:44

You have gorgeous hair but I get being bored with it as long hair tends to just hang . If it were me I would get it cut into a lob (shorter at the back) as it would feel shorter and swishy

DottyDotts · 17/02/2018 08:55

Sorry just seen photo of new cut. Love it.

MaureenNervosa · 17/02/2018 09:35

Looks great! I like the blunt ends.

CountFosco · 17/02/2018 11:01

Gorgeous, good choice. Although it makes me giggle a bit that your hair is now longer than mine ever has been and you're calling it a chop (I have a pixie at the moment).

QueenOfSpades6 · 17/02/2018 16:28

Better picture in natural light. No regret yet so that’s good. I had about 5 inches off Grin
