Malory!!!!!!!!

I was wondering where you had got to earlier today.

Housemum · 25/04/2007 19:25

I don't believe I have just spent 10 minutes trying (and failing) to find a pic of Roy Cropper with his Cropper Shopper...

Oh I've been VERY busy most of the afternoon with Steve from Rentokill discussing My Rat Problem

I also showed him my carpet moths, he discovered I also have a Squirrel Problem and he disabused me of the notion that I have some sweet little ladybirds in a guest bedroom by identifying them as carpet beetle.

The GOOD news (according to Steve) is that carpet moth and carpet beetle is much nicer than having cockroaches and bedbugs. And rats moving in has meant that the mice have moved out. So those are some little rays of sunshine.

All in all, ot quite as glamorous as your day, but very productive nonetheless

my dh is obsessed with magpies too so add them to your list

he sits under a tree in the garden letting off shots at them and always comes back in furious because he never gets one
"the sights on this air rifle are COMPLETELY off" he hollered last saturday

Aloha · 25/04/2007 19:54

I think squirrels are sweet. I like their little human hands. Except when I catch the fat little buggers eating the bulbs in my garden, however.
At £5 each The Anya Hindmarch bags aren't making money for anyone except people who sell them on Ebay (I believe they cost more to make and distribute). I think they were created at least partly to publicise Sainsbury's decision to stop giving away free plastic bags as of - I think - this week. Great publicity stunt! I don't have one btw. Am using a very neon Lands End beach bag for shopping when I remember. Am kicking myself for not buying Ralph Lauren navy and white striped shopper at the outlet in York. It was nice.

I shall make one that says "I don't buy my bags in Sainsburys"

PrincessPeaHead · 25/04/2007 20:00

no we don't
but we do own a clay pigeon making company so now I'm wondering why the hell we don't? Hmmm must ask

aloha, soupy. Soup, aloha

mishw · 25/04/2007 21:07

Well I like the bag. I paid £5 for mine, think all the Ebay stuff and people buying them are absolutely mad, but hey if they're daft enough!

TheBlonde · 25/04/2007 21:24

Damn, I clicked on this thread to read about the silly Sains bag and now I realise we have carpet beetles

PPH - how do you get rid of them?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 25/04/2007 21:37

PPH - My DH has also been blaming the gun for his complete ineptitude at potting rabbits this week. I have had no problems with it

This bag is bestest

PrincessPeaHead · 26/04/2007 10:09

oh dear sorry blonde
if they look like tiny ladybirds but more sort of brown coloured, and they congregate on windowsills, they are carpet beetles

well according to the rentokil man you kill them by paying him £280 +vat to come and spray your house with toxins 3 times

but he would say that wouldn't he?

aelita · 26/04/2007 19:57

And guess where these dozy bags were made? China. I'm sure though that the transportation was utterly eco-friendly, no air-freighting, oh no. They came over by pedalo...

expatinscotland · 26/04/2007 20:05

I've yet to see one in RL.

Kind of which I'd bought one now to sell it to some schmuck for a bomb.

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 26/04/2007 20:18

Have also now realised that I have carpet beetles.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 26/04/2007 20:29

It would seem that carpet beetles are more common than Anya Hindmarch bags

Aelita - nice point.
