Those anya hindmarch bags are utterly naff and I will inwardly laugh at anyone that has one

especially as I will KNOW you have gone to massive effort to get one

I've got loads of cloth bags - some from Australian supermarkets, one from our local council and about ten from Primark.

One has skulls on it. It's ace.

The AH bag is nothing but a gimmick - as well as the plastic bubble packaging thing, how many people do you think made unnecessary car journeys to go and queue for one?

MrsBadger · 25/04/2007 09:56

get in quick

charliecat · 25/04/2007 09:57

sorry here

themoon66 · 25/04/2007 09:57

Find the whole business quite crazy, this was on popbitch last week.

Bagged to rights

ChippyMinton · 25/04/2007 10:00

Hideous! Get a marslady LDC bag instead form littlelapin's Mile for Maude shop

DrNortherner · 25/04/2007 10:00

Well I would have paid £5 for one. But I didn't queue, and I wouldn't pa y over teh odds on ebay.

NadineBaggott · 25/04/2007 10:02

I don't think the bag it self is too naff, it's quite nice for a fiver. The craziness around it however is totally naff.

My basket is so retro it is cool.

I tie die cloth, too.

Housemum · 25/04/2007 10:27

If I could have been bothered I would have got ot of bed to get one and stick it on eBay for some sad muppet to pay over the odds for. But I prefer my beauty sleep! (heaven knows I need it...)

I'm sure a lot of people will look back on this whole bag thing and think WHY!!! Particularly those who paid hundreds (sad, sad, sad)

I'm quite happy with the free jute bag that Sainsbury's did a couple of months back when you bought organic fruit & veg. (better than the bright orange ones I also have from there)

How long before the knock-offs appear at the market stalls... (I saw a teenager in Reading on Saturday with one and my first thought was "I wonder if it's genuine?"!)

gscrym · 25/04/2007 10:29

That's a slogan for a bag. People swanning around with 'I wonder if it's genuine' on the side.

Lets market that and get some sleb to totter around with that and watch the moolah roll in .

Housemum · 25/04/2007 10:29

I also have some calico bags from The Body Shop which must be about 20 years old now!! They are great because they get grubby and just get stuck in the washing machine.

I bet Anita Roddick (does she still own it or not?) is fed up that NOW everyone's cottoned on to the idea when she was doing it years ago!

Housemum · 25/04/2007 10:31

Gscrym - you could be on to something, more slogans needed:

I'm not a Fashion Victim

I have More Money than Sense

Honest, I Just Happened to be There When They Were Selling This

charliecat · 25/04/2007 10:32

What I cant work out is why the maker/supplier didnt pop them on ebay themselves...weird.

gscrym · 25/04/2007 10:34

'Fashion Dictates Me'
'Shafted By Ebay'
'I Queued For 5 Hours And All I Got Was This Bag'
'Should've Went To (Insert supermarket name here'

gscrym · 25/04/2007 10:36

I like these .

gscrym · 25/04/2007 10:37

Sorry, \link{http://www.thecleverbaggers.co.uk/shop/these}.

gscrym · 25/04/2007 10:38

What is wrong with my head. One more try.

If I get it wrong again, shoot me

Enid · 25/04/2007 10:39

I got one, but if I can figure out how to use EBay, I want to stick it on there and give the money to the Mile for Maude.

But EBay appears to be over run with the buggers.
