WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK FOUR

Week 4 of the third (I think) boot camp of the year , welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

I am very, very happy. Having drunk much too much fizzy wine at lunchtime, along with roast chicken, chocolate cake, and ice cream. Then we all sat in the sun, although I had remembered to slather a bit of sunscreen on, mostly because I would really prefer to reveal norks rather than crinkles.

By the way can I remind you all to wear proper sunglasses? Quite apart from the Eye Health benefits, this will mean you crinkle your eyes up and thus exacerbate the wrinkling process which for those of us who have reached ahem a degree of maturity is doign quite well on its own thank you very much.

motherinferior · 29/04/2007 16:41

And that, of course should read 'you don't crinkle your eyes up' yada yada yada

WideWebWitch · 29/04/2007 17:32

Dingle, your hair looks fab! And so does your skin etc

MI, hmm, fizz sounds lovely.

Iota, bike ride v good.

I've eaten like a pig today
3 pieces toast with LOADS of butter
2 pieces thick white bread, slathered with cold butter to make a rare roast beef sandwich with horseradish, god, it was gorgeous
then a hot dog roll with an organic sausage in it
sweets while we watched a film on the projector
potato wedges dipped into chilli sauce

all v delicious but v fattening
no exercise
no sunscreen (but have only wandered out to get the papers)
not enough water even
but at least no wine and am determined to be good on that until Sat...

And you're right about sunglasses mi, I do have enormous ones.

On that subject, was browsing for a 40th birthday card for a friend yesterday, here

I want that sandwich!

WideWebWitch · 29/04/2007 17:44

It was wonderful MI. You don't want the fat on the stomach that goes with it though

Dingle - your hair looks lovely!

Just had a roast dinner which was rather calorific but delicious. Quit a lazy day but very enjoyable. Had a fair bit of sunshine here and went to our local wildlife park.

Have also had a G&T and some wine. Am going to get the children bathed and then off to bed. Need to find a book to read - any suggestions?

prufrock · 29/04/2007 21:04

I don't have weekend weakness, more weekmidtoend weakness - Mon and Tuesday are always good but after that...

Dinner out on Friday at neighbours, after which I very embarrasingly threw up. But as I'd hd only one G&T and 2 glasses red wine I think it was actually my IBS reacting to the rich food. especially as I managed to politely say I needed to get home, and vomited neatly and quietly in the drain on the way home (all 100 yards). And I managed yet more f&fs after I'd had a few glasses of water and a rest (I'm making up for 2 years of depression/anti-depressant induced loss of liido!) And then on Saturday we went to a wedding where I knew no-one but the bridegroom and dh, so had to drink copiously to survive it. Oh well - tomorrow is another week.

Well done Batters on the tops, and dingle your hair looks lovely

Yes, it obv is having to report in. I will start using the pedometer in earnest this week.

Well my weekend weakness turned into Weekend Total Surrender so I will draw a veil over it , not beat myself up and go into tomorrow is another day mode.
However I did do sunscreen, water, body lotion and sleep, so all is not lost.

Great hair Dingle.

Clary · 29/04/2007 23:11

Oh gosh
Haven't posted for ages sorry, but have walked a lot today (looking at bluebells with DH and the DCs so that was happy) and doign the sunsctreen/handcream/body lotion thing.

Not going to bed early tho - i just can't.

Will try to eat better from tomorrow.

Marina · 29/04/2007 23:13

I programmed my pedometer. It emitted an electronic howl of anguish when I put in my weight. I didn't drink much.
I spent a very long but enjoyable day sewing up a giant pink blanket at NQC Towers and eating Bran's delicious Thai vegetarian green curry (and NQC's wheat and chorizo salad, and bundy's Burt Crisps, and Swizzler's biscuits, and my own tomatoes).
So a veil for my weekend too. I think next week I'd like to be...batters
The hair looks just gorgeous dingle
Good luck to everyone this week!
