WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, WEEK FOUR

WideWebWitch · 23/04/2007 08:26

Week 4 of the third (I think) boot camp of the year , welcome.

The rules (anyone can join):

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

if only I ate half a PE pizza, I'd probably be OK but I polish off a whole one and whatever the kids leave .

Yesterday I had an
apple
left over pizza for lunch
a plain bagel
2 choc mini rolls
Cod fillet with leftover pasta in a bacon and tomato and mascapone sauce
oh and 1 profiterole (and felt very proud that I didn't wolf down the rest of them, dh did that for me!).

Didn't drink as much water as I should have done and had 2 glasses of red so woke up parched this morning (at 4am because of dh's snoring grrr).

Will do better today - dug out old step thing (while waiting for new one) - school run is 3000 - 3500 steps so that means I do 6000-7000 a day by default before anything else so that's good.

WideWebWitch · 27/04/2007 13:02

Oh FIS, I had a whole one too on Weds, half a Sloppy G and half an American Hot! That's good about the steps on school run. I really must get a pedometer, may go and order one now in fact.

lol at Sobernow's description. Yes avocado is Good fat so they're good on this plan.

Batters, I can't do lunchtime drinking either. Well, I can, but I will be asleep by 4pm, feeling crap. But I hope it was enjoyable!

Dino, hmm, now, does walking because you thought you might throw up due to wine night before count as good or bad I wonder? On a school night too , god, I don't half know it if I ever do that these days. A 6.15am start doesn't half focus my mind I'm finding. How are you now? Less toxic? You need Coke and more stodge I think. Anyway, sympathy.

I DID go for a walk at 7.20am, for half an hour. But came back and ate 3 pieces of toast with butter

Went to a deli with dd this morning and therefore lunch was

a few small pieces of salami (£2 coin sized) which had great bits of fat running through it, yum (that's bad fat I think you'll find, oh well)
a bit of the middle of a chicken and mushroom pie slice which dd wanted and didn't touch, but at least I threw all the pastry in the bin
a baby octopus
some squid and I drained all the oil off both before eating

a couple of sun dried tomatoes (ditto re oil)
some raspberries
and a mini packed of chocolate buttons, 75cal

I am knackered due to dd waking at 5.45am. I may or may not drink tonight, would be quite happy not to and to have an early night with a book. And I drank on Weds so I owe myself another night without wine I think.

Well done everyone.

Marina, anyone, which pedometer is it? I'm on Amazon and there are lots.

motherinferior · 27/04/2007 13:28

Well, a mixup over timing meant I didn't get to Pilates last night, but I'll go swimming again tonight. I have now hit that Zone, the one where you're actively happier if you've gone

Which is just as well, as DD2 and I spent a happy half hour this morning making Nigella's dense loaf choc cake, which will mature stickily in our fridge till we have it (with vanilla ice cream) on Sunday night. The very thought is making me very, very happy.

Am also rather chirpy about the fact that I have managed FIVE MORNINGS without shouting at the Inferiorettes.

WideWebWitch · 27/04/2007 13:29

OK, I ordered this one

this baby WWW. Erm, still have to set it up but it does look really good...
Batters, how lovely re the tops, hope you are having a wonderful lunch
Am drinking water, wearing cream, have energetically purged dd's bedroom of a ton of crud this morning, but hardly walked anywhere.

Marina · 27/04/2007 13:30

snap missus

WideWebWitch · 27/04/2007 13:30

Well done on the not shouting, v impressive. I am happier when I am getting some regular exercise, definitely.

Oh great, it's the right one! Marvellous! I'm hoping I get all competitive on myself and want to keep bettering my own score iyswim.

OP posts:
foxinsocks · 27/04/2007 18:48

have done marginally better today - had

grapes
banana
crispy bacon bagel
errr a cream tea (v bad but was out with friends and being sociable so felt I had to join in )
have had tea with the kids - cod, chips and veggies
will probably devour some cereal later as I've eaten too early

I am already feeling competitive about the steps - I love things like that (but am quite fascinated to see how far, in distance, those steps measure). Wish I had a lap counter for the pool because I find I switch off after 10 and cannot, for the life of me, remember how many I've done.

Bathroom people hopefully back for their last day tomorrow which means another day out and about peeing in loos in cafes (i.e. more cake and cream teas arrghh!).

tortoiseSHELL · 27/04/2007 19:02

Just popping in quickly - not a bad week, lots of walking in the lovely weather, lots of water, no wine, lots of salad, (focussing on good bits here), not TOO late to bed, no make up to take off, haven't been in sun....

hope you're all having a good week

Dingle · 27/04/2007 19:36

Oh yes, that ped look good- I must treat myself to one that doesn't keep resetting itself!

Sat here with my water, hand creamed, body lotioned and absolutely starving! Not eaten much today as I spent most of the day looking like a strange worzel gummidge (sp?) with tin foil in my hair!! WEll my hair is rather.......SHORT!LOL

Sorry ladies, going to open a bottle of wine later and have a chinese take away.

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 19:36

So, I've eaten

more Octopus
more squid
both with lemon juice and as much olive oil soaked off as I could
took make up off as soon as I got back from school pick up
and may well go to bed in the next half hour, I'm knackered
quite a bit of water
and at least I've ordered a pedometer
and I haven't had wine and almost certainly won't

so virtuous but BORING. I am longing to be swept off my feet to some swanky hotel for a night of f&fs and lolling drinking Champagne

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 19:36

(it's www here btw, let's hope MI doesn't catch me in her best clothes)

foxinsocks · 27/04/2007 19:39

lol - I think you are more cocky with that name www!

mmmm I could do with a bit of being swept off my feet too - and a bottle of champagne. Surely you can manage just a little glass tonight (are you feeling better)?

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 20:21

FIS, it makes me feel cockier, certainly! Interesting innit?

It felt strangely liberating for a while back posting as ElizabethPurley, I quite liked the anonymity (well, ykwim)

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 20:22

DH has just gone out for wine and pizza.

And there was I hoping that after I told him last night that I need romance that he would have arranged something...but no.

foxinsocks · 27/04/2007 20:39

well, perhaps he's told you he's gone to get wine and pizza. But perhaps he's nipped out to get into costume .

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 20:40

Good Lord, I DO HOPE NOT!

No, he's just come back grumpy because he managed to break a bottle of wine in his car.

MotherSuperior · 27/04/2007 20:41

My life is just one long romantic whirl...

foxinsocks · 27/04/2007 20:43

I particularly like the one size fits most as if anyone would be too well endowed for that .

Broken wine in car is a total PITA. Tis awful. Did that once and ended up having to get the car valeted. V v annoying. Hope the spillage is not too widespread.
