It's not called face footner Stars, it's an M&S own brand face peel from a week or so ago. The actual name escapes me. It's a very good product though.

APocketfulOfStars · 23/12/2017 21:12

Ah ok, thanks HeyRoly I have that one. I like it! Why are people calling it a footner then??

HeyRoly · 23/12/2017 22:04

Because it rids your face of old skin just like Footner does on feet.

Although I was annoyed that Footner didn't do anything for the horrible calloused areas on my feet/cracked heels etc. It only peeled the areas that didn't especially need peeling.

Today’s is likely to be good - I loved last year’s Pur primer - but it’s disappointing to get another primer (especially so soon after the last one!). I’m another who would have loved an eye cream.

I do love this calendar, though. It’s been lovely having a treat every morning and I’ve enjoyed trying out products that are way fancier than I usually use. I’ve got some on the go already, a little stash to give away and a drawerful of bottles and tubes to keep me going throughout the rest of the year. I’m only just finishing off some of the stuff from last year’s calendar at the moment!

NefretForth · 24/12/2017 08:00

The calendar hasn't been brilliantly planned, I don't think - two primers, two nail polishes, two mascaras and more face cream than I know what to do with. I'd have really liked a hand cream, or a lipstick in a colour that didn't make me look like a drowned corpse.

That said, it's been generally good and I've got lots of lovely things to help me trudge through January. I may even buy the Rodial serum when I run out. And I'm keeping the box so that I can create a really good personalised advent calendar for DD next year.

rookiemere · 24/12/2017 08:16

Oh joy another primer - sorry cant help moaning !
25th better be good.

A propos I managed to get the indelible lipgloss thing on my kipling rucksack. Ive put it through the washing machine, tried to shift with nail polish remover, and I just cant remove it. Any suggestions?

snowflakestar · 24/12/2017 08:29

I'm pleased with the primer, even though I don't wear foundation.

AmethystMoon · 24/12/2017 08:31

Think we had this last year or maybe in another beauty box?
Anyway, from memory it’s okay so I’ll add to my primer pile. Bit disappointed for the Xmas eve box to have the same thing within a couple of days. That said all in its been a fab calendar this year. Think I’ve worked out tomorrow’s so I’m now feeling a bit sad it’s all over for another year, but it’s Christmas eve so, onto more non beautifying festivities now Xmas Grin

TheLongRider · 24/12/2017 08:38

Today's primer isn't silicone based according to the ingredients on the Pür website.

There have been a lot of samey products and duplicates. Last year there were three hair products, the Philip Kingsley Elasticised, Josh Reed hair oil and the Percy and Reed styling prep. This year only one hair product.

The product sizes were more generous is some cases too.

mogulfield · 24/12/2017 08:39

I’m happy with the primer, it looks good and I use primer every day 👍
Does anyone want to start swapping? I have about 6 unopened things!

Pengweng · 24/12/2017 08:44

fedup you're welcome. Glad they can be of use.
Hope everyone has a good Christmas.

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 24/12/2017 09:03

Another primer seems like an odd choice, especially as we had one less than 5 days ago and this is Christmas Eve!
The reviews look good though and I could do with some glow. Just hope it's not sparkly/shimmery!

IToldYouIWasFreaky · 24/12/2017 09:07

As for swaps, I only have the sponge thingy and the Stila lip-not-gloss up for grabs. The lip stuff has been opened and tried but I didn't use the applicator on my lips.
Happy to give these away as it's Christmas and the lip stuff has been opened. [frgin]

chemenger · 24/12/2017 09:10

Two primers in a row is a disappointment for me, since I don’t use them. Otherwise I’ve really enjoyed the calendar and will definitely be getting one next year. I’ve lined up a selection of the things I like and instructed dd to hint to dh so hopefully Santa will bring some full size products. I like the lipstick, it seems a very different colour on my lips to how it looks on the tubes and my skin is noticeably brighter and smoother. Even my glitter nail polish seems to work ok!

snowflakestar · 24/12/2017 09:20

Speaking of glitter nail varnish, my new one arrived yesterday. I tested it quickly with one coat and it still looks perfect almost 24hrs later! No white patches, no lifting; so the calendar one is just poor quality. The new one is Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP and paraben-free too.

LizzieSiddal · 24/12/2017 09:23

Surely the last few products should be absolutely fantastic, so the customer is left feeling they can’t wait to buy another M&S calendar next year.

I’m left with a feeling of being very underwhelmed.

I’ve really missed not having many hair, hand and body products.

LizzieSiddal · 24/12/2017 09:26

Oh gosh yes, why no eye cream? When we’ve had about 15 face products? Really very odd.

Xmasbaby11 · 24/12/2017 09:41

Wow so perplexed by another primer! I do think there habe been too many face products, but they are good quality and my skin looks great.

Overall I'm really enjoying it and will definitely buy again next year. Keeping the box to make a calendar for the dds next year.

mogulfield · 24/12/2017 09:59

So these are all unused, anyone want to swap?

Keen to get hold of EH cleansing balm, 8 hour sleep cream and either primer. 👍

mowglik · 24/12/2017 10:00

I like the look of this primer, may try it on its own or over foundation on cheeks as it seems to have a very subtle sheen which might be lost under foundation??

I am surprised at the way they ordered the products, they def could have spaced out face products and primer etc but I’m still happy with my lot, don’t have much to swap this year.

Seems like no 25 isn’t a great product from what people are saying?? I’ll miss the little treat everyday for sure

mowglik · 24/12/2017 10:01

Mogulfield I’ll swap my primer for your liquid gold if you want?

mowglik · 24/12/2017 10:02

Sorry the first primer - or the balance me oil whichever you prefer to swap for the primer..?

I also have the:
radiance peel
Rosie body cream
Nails inc Gold nail polish
Ultrasun lip balm to swap

mogulfield · 24/12/2017 10:12

Happy to get rid of either, whichever you’d prefer. Which was the first primer?! Either way Il be happy. 😊

mowglik · 24/12/2017 10:26

Great will pm you! It’s the first (unused) primer if that’s ok, for the liquid gold. I’m going to try using the second as a highlighter/radiance cream.

Pic of stuff I want to swap away, minus the primer now obviously. The polish was tried on one nail and the body glow and peel were tried on back of my hand

I’d like EH balm, pur primer, balance me oil or any of the face creams if anyone is interested in a swap

Had this primer in last years calendar.

On the whole this year has been a bit disappointing compared to last year. Broader range of beauty things. I think far more generous sizes last year too.

It’s not imo worth the £250 price tag.

The face oil definitely smells fishy, I’ve been blocked up and haven’t been able to smell it before.

I have enjoyed the calendar, but will have a good read of the contents before considering next year. Still annoyed by the swap of lip balm to sponge.
