I don't think I got the oil. I opened the rest of mine yesterday but I can't find it. I'm not going to say what I think I got instead in case it's still to come.

WindyWednesday · 21/12/2017 19:47

The lip gloss yesterday. Is it stingy or maybe tingly? I’ve got chapped lips and not sure if it’s that or the product, but it really made my lips burn when I put it on.

snowflakestar · 21/12/2017 19:55

Yes, it's tingly. I think it's supposed to be lip plumping, plus it's minty.

CantChoose · 21/12/2017 20:10

I'm pleased with today, I really love rose scented products. Silly question, do you roller it on?? Or into your hands then press it in??
Can I ask, what was the brand of the mascara you all got? Mine is terrible and really clumpy so I'm not sure whether it is a dud or a different product altogether. I'm usually really unfussy about mascara but considering chucking it :/

WindyWednesday · 21/12/2017 20:12

Both my mascara are clumpy. I think it’s the brush. If you use a thin brush you should be ok.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/12/2017 20:40

itstheyearzero I have pmed you about swapping the oil for perfume.

I'm pleased with today, love balance me products generally but haven't tried this oil before.
I haven't tried everything so far but from what I have, the Gatineau face cream really stands out.

snowflakestar · 21/12/2017 21:29

I'm not sure re the rollerball. I tried to put it on my fingers first but there wasn't enough space to allow it to come out properly so I ended up applying it straight to my face, but I didn't like the feeling. I'd prefer it without the rollerball.

Kochicoo · 21/12/2017 21:29

For those of you loving the Gatineau cream, could I ask how you're using it please? As a night cream or a day cream? I put a very thin layer on at night and my skin seemed to go quite tight and dry and not very nice. I also think it might have irritated my skin or maybe I just tried on too many things over a few days. Should I have put a thicker layer on? My Mum has given me another Gatineaux cream she got in her calendar but not sure about trying it either!

snowflakestar · 21/12/2017 21:32

I like the Gatineau and I'm using it at night. I apply lots though (as I do with all products!).

I wouldn't buy it at full price though, I still prefer my Dermalogica and Elizabeth Arden moisturisers.

AmethystMoon · 21/12/2017 21:35

After experimenting I think there is something amiss with the glittery Leighton Denny nail polish. I’ve used LD for years and always found it to be very good quality.
This sparkly one is not at all Xmas Confused
I tried it on its own and it peeled off nearly every nail by the end of the day. I tried again over another colour...it went opaque. Just tried again over a pale grey plus a glossy top coat....seems okay so far.....
Not doing the brand many favours to those new to it, a shame. I hope they didn’t know it was faulty!

snowflakestar · 21/12/2017 21:44

I agree Amethyst, I've never had a nail varnish do that to me before. I do find it odd that I couldn't find mention of the 'colour' I got - it made me wonder if they'd discontinued due to problems or something.

My daughter was excited about it but I can't put it on her when it does that.

Kochicoo · 21/12/2017 21:55

Thank you snowflake

AmethystMoon · 21/12/2017 22:25

I put it on my daughters nails snowflake and she was rather sad to watch it flake off, especially as she thought it was so pretty. Xmas Confused

TheLuminaries · 21/12/2017 22:28

I put the silver sparkle polish over the gold polish & it is holding up fine - lovely & twinkley.

ihatethecold · 21/12/2017 22:31

Koochicoo
I’m using the Gatineau like a primer moisturiser before I put make up on.
A bit like the clarins flash balm.

Kochicoo · 21/12/2017 22:41

Ooh primer - maybe I'll try that. Thank you.

miffy2 · 21/12/2017 22:43

The silver glitter polish...it is a topper, so best worn over other polishes. Because it contains micro-glitter it NEEDS topcoat, in fact it could do with two coats, and I would not apply it without base coat either as glitter polishes have a tendency to lift. It will probably look really good over white polish, maybe black or navy too. I haven't tried it yet but I am familiar with that type of polish. It is not faulty per se, just needs to be applied a certain way.

snowflakestar · 21/12/2017 22:51

Aww, Amethyst.

Thanks miffy, I might test it one more time on one nail tomorrow.

AmethystMoon · 22/12/2017 06:45

miffy it’s definitely working better as a layer over another colour and with top coat. However I have plenty of other glitter polish by other brands that don’t need such specific application. Nails Inc for example doesn’t behave like this.

AmethystMoon · 22/12/2017 06:46

Just opened today’s, not tried this one before. I’ll add it to my pile as I have several primers on the go.

CiderwithBuda · 22/12/2017 07:12

Someone one or more than one up thread was wanting a primer so hope today's makes them happy. I haven't tried it but will do later.

Interesting about the glittery nail polish miffy - thanks. Seem a bit faffy to me.

snowflakestar · 22/12/2017 07:21

Today's looks good to me! Hydrating skin boost is just what I'm after. Will try soon.

APocketfulOfStars · 22/12/2017 07:22

Could someone explain to me what primer actually does? I have no idea. I know it goes under foundation, which I don't wear. This is my first 'disappointment' I think!

APocketfulOfStars · 22/12/2017 07:23

And in keeping with the spirit of positivity, I love the fun of a little treat every day and am enjoying all the other products! Xmas Grin

TheBitterBoy · 22/12/2017 07:36

Happy to try another primer, but I'm probably going to end up sticking with my Pixi one. Depends if it is a silicone based one, as I find those make my skin feel lovely but don't actually help my foundation go on smoothly (balling/pilling) and don't contribute to longer lasting foundation. I guess it depends if you use a silicone based foundation too.
