Is wearing a lace / sheer mesh black bodysuit with just a bra underneath tacky? Would be worn with either jeans or skirt and black tights.

The wearer is 35, Size 8-10

For a wedding or day at work yes. For a night out, not one bit.

NashvilleQueen · 08/12/2017 21:51

A lot depends on how sheer the lacy top is IMO. It wouldn’t be something I would wear but then I’m much older and fatter.

beeny · 08/12/2017 21:52

Yes it is tacky

horsefacedhelen · 08/12/2017 21:53

It’s for a night out, not work Grin

Then it’s fine!

horsefacedhelen · 08/12/2017 21:54

My office has a pretty relaxed dress code but sheer lace might raise a few eyebrows

It depends on the bra I think.
If the bra is plain with good coverage.

If it’s a look at me type bra, cleavage exposed or lace again, i think tacky.

LemonysSnicket · 08/12/2017 21:56

Yes, tacky even on a night out. A bandeau underneath might be ok.

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 21:57

It is a bit tacky. I seem to remember embracing this look in the 90s though Grin The shirts weren't gauzy chiffon though but more a thick lace.

A look that works better with neat little boobs rather than massive knockers.

Crumbs1 · 08/12/2017 21:57

MMMmn not something I’d wear and I’d raise an eyebrow if the girls turned up in it. Not a classic.

flingingmelon · 08/12/2017 21:58

Depends on the lace and the bra and the occasion.

Clean lined, simple bra and lace with good coverage at not too buttoned up an event; you're fine.

Agent provocateur special with the wispiness lace; at your first meet with you're future MIL - not so much.

NCforthis12345 · 08/12/2017 21:58

I did this at 18yo. Now 25 and wouldn't tbh. But I can't stand leering. Not that that is your reason of course! Maybe it depends on where you are going and the type of crowd.

RunRabbitRunRabbit · 08/12/2017 21:58

If the wearer is quite flat chested then it can look OK. Norks above a B cup will look cheap.

Grimmfebruary · 08/12/2017 21:58

I think it's fine with high waisted skirt/trousers and a decent coverage bra. And not massive knockers. Haha.

C0untDucku1a · 08/12/2017 21:59

Sounds like my going out outfits of the late 90s and very early noughties.

It's rather "Cher" Isn't it? Yes I would say tacky.

Bluntness100 · 08/12/2017 22:04

God I used to wear them in the eighties, i suddenly feel, old and have visions of Madonna who made them fashionable.,I did wear camis under them though, 🤣

Anyways, it’s fine I think for a night club. I think at 35 at the office xmas party it’s,a bit desperate and tacky.,it’s fine to want to look sexy but do it eleganty and without showing your underwear. Maybe wear a cami under it, or pick something else.

ApplesTheHare · 08/12/2017 22:06

Yeah tacky with just a bra. I'd wonder who the wearer was trying to impress and why they thought that was the best way to do it. Lovely with a bandeau or very strappy vest top underneath instead.

Ohyesiam · 08/12/2017 22:12

I think it might look a bit attention seeking. But then I'm old and have finally got over needing attention
Actually ignore me, it's really individual. Do you feel a million dollars like that? Then it probably looks good.

Cococase · 08/12/2017 22:18

At 35 years old, it's all a little bit desperate and tacky, I'm afraid.

It's rather "grab-a-granny" night, down the local night club.Grin

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 22:24

grab a 35 year old granny?

m'kay.

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 22:25

It's rather "Cher" Isn't it?

Only if one is straddling a canon whilst singing to 100 horny sailors.

ShizzleYoDrizzle · 08/12/2017 22:27

She wore (or almost wore) some eye catching things in her time!
