Is wearing a lace / sheer mesh black bodysuit with just a bra underneath tacky? Would be worn with either jeans or skirt and black tights.

The wearer is 35, Size 8-10

I love this look. I wish I was still slim enough to carry it off. Clearly I would save it for a non work occasion though.

Depends what you look like. If you’re lean and flat chested it can look good, and edgy even (no matter your age). If you have even the slightest bit of curve to you (and at a 8/10 I think you might be at least a little curvy) it looks horrible.

I think you can wear what you like and it depends on your personal style not your age.

I don’t think it’s a very elegant look personally but of course you may be aiming for something else.

Jube I think this brings back bad memories for you. I actually think you wore this once, but minus the bra. Designer tittie tassels in full display, but one fell off and then you realised in shock horror that you forgot to pluck ya nipples.

I like the ones with lace or embroidered detailing, they give a bit of coverage and don’t look tacky, not keen on 100% sheer look. Just too much of a 90’s look.

Oh I miss having a body that would look good in that. It feels like quite a retro look, so would depend on the event (ideal for 90s themed club night).

I guess it depends on just how see through it is - very see through would be tacky. Is it a mesh one? If there's a fair bit of material or embroidery it sounds fine. Also I do think size counts here. Slim with small to medium boobs would carry it off best. Keep everything else simple. I wear bodysuits (32) and there are some only a 22 year old could get away it's true but what you are suggesting isn't too outlandish. I have some lovely ones. They look nice on very slim or slim hourglass figures.

Of course, you could just nip over to Boden and find yourself a nice woollen, high necked dress preferably in polka dots with maybe some mustard coloured tights. That will be sure to send your oh wild and keep several MNers very happy that you're all covered up.

I think a slim, small-boobed 35-year-old would probably look better in this than a chunky 18-year-old.
