Is wearing a lace / sheer mesh black bodysuit with just a bra underneath tacky? Would be worn with either jeans or skirt and black tights.

The wearer is 35, Size 8-10

Thanks for the comments.
Although as a 35 year old, size 8-10, in good shape and don’t even have kids let alone grandkids, I laugh at being called grab a granny!

This sort of outfit is a very good example of why fashion finds breasts problematic. On very small breasts this would look very cool and edgy. On anything over a C cup it would look a bit wenchy. It also depends on the bra - a Wonderbra would be very 1997, a lovely triangle bralet much more modern.

The comments about "over the hill" say more about those posters and their own problems than your OP horsefacedhelen!

As posters have said though, it depends a lot on the bra and the top - a lovely structured bralette would look good under a semi-sheer top.

This sort of bra shape

A Wonderbra under a lacy blouse would just look a bit 80's.

Buxbaum I wasn't copying you - I swear! I just got so distracted looking at bras on And Other Stories that my post ended up taking about 8 mins to finish... Grin

Can you still buy lace bodysuits?!

Makes me think of the early 90s.

See, I think that (with the exception of wedding dresses) lace is something that actually works better once you are a bit more mature - as long as it is subtle and good quality.

[Looks at calendar. Realises total absence of events to which to wear nice lacy top. Realises that she does not possess said nice lacy top. Goes back to her breakfast.]

FFS! "Grab a granny night" is a funny phrase to describe people over their mid-twenties who go clubbing! It's just humour!

When I was 18 we used to describe the local over 21's night club as Grab a Granny.

Perfectly possible for a 35 year old to be a granny, however!

Whisky2014 · 09/12/2017 10:19

I wouldn't wear that but I wouldn't judge.

Ha, astounded - we clearly share the same finely-honed sartorial instincts Wink
