Getting gel nails done for first time in yonks tomorrow.

I'm feeling a bit frumpy and pregnant so want to feel a bit more polished.

Any inspo for me?

Our local salon now has chrome powders that rub on over a black shellac gel. They are super shiny and come in a range of metallic or shifting colours. It takes a bit longer than a standard gel polish so costs a few £ more but I love the super glossy finish and the dramatic look. This one is bronze chrome powder over OPI Lincoln Park. They also do a fabulous green shade and a beautiful dark blue/emerald green duotone that reminds me of peacocks.

I don't currently have mine done OP sadly, but at this time of year I'd usually go for a dark red/purple or brown, almost black.

Ive often thought about getting this done. Does it not damage your nails?

I had gel nails over the summer and they were lovely. When they came off though my real nails were a bendy, flakey mess. I'd love to know how you can have gel nails and not damage the nails underneath.

Shellac over acrylic overlays. Love the colour. Not ready to retire the brights and head over to burgundy yet!

These are my current nails and I really love these ones.

Space I get them done in a salon, £30 a pop though so I don't have them done all the time - just on the run up to special occasions

I've never had gel polish but getting a kit for Christmas off DH as I can't seem to get regular polish to last at all.
