Talk me out of buying a Gucci handbag please!

I’ve been coveting a Gucci soho disco bag in black for as long as it’s been around! Have just been given some unexpected birthday money to make it happen.

However, just a few days ago i had talked myself into the Fossil Campbell crossbody in black instead and was going to buy at the weekend. What do i do? Buy the Fossil and pocket the cash for lots of other nice things or get the Gucci? HELP!

Have you got your bag yet OP? Does it live up to expectations?

I want this bag too! I don't really like a lot of designer bags, and I'm thinking maybe it's a better investment to get, for example, a preloved Chanel but my heart sings for the Gucci Disco.

@DrowningEveryDay I use mine all the time! I really want it in another colour but DH would kill me as I have a mountain of handbags already.

@JW13 i really want one! But wondering if I should get something less casual. I already have Balenciaga Town, Balenciaga Hip, and Givenchy Pandora so I’m thinking maybe the Soho Disco is a similar look? But I so want it!

@DrowningEveryDay I would say they're different enough but I am biased! I guess the closest is the Balenciaga Hip but they're really quite different. Maybe get the Gucci in a different colour?!

@JW13 but I only love black bags! Hmn maybe the tassel makes it different?

Get the Gucci otherwise you'll regret it, I love my designer handbags and keep them in their cloth bags between use. OH gets me one every Christmas and says the pleasure on my face is nearly worth every penny

Do it! I really, really want one of their Marmonts and have only resisted so far because I know it’s a ridiculous price to pay for such a small bag. Hasn’t stopped me heavily hinting to DH about an upcoming birthday though.

@DrowningEveryDay I hear you on the black. Most of my bag wardrobe is black/grey. But I have the beige version of the Soho and it is so useful! I am terrified of getting it dirty though.

And yes, the tassel makes it totally different!

The thing I regret is not getting the black version a couple of years ago as the price just keeps increasing. Buy it now! (Total shopping facilitator here )

And @SwimmingKaren Yes to the Marmont too! I hope your DH is better with hints than mine. I just have to buy stuff and send him the bill

One thing dp said to me the other day is that it's my money
I need to learn to drive but also am dying for a pair of Gucci trainers
He said once I'm driving my priority has been met so £400+ on some trainers I really want is fine. I'll earn more money. I'm sure you work your arse off day in day out and your pay check goes on groceries and water bills. Boring.
Once all priorities are met I think it's great to treat yourself
