This summer, did you find a spf 50 for under make up that you really love?

We're just coming into summer here. I'm fed up with using my birthday to get the one dermalogica spf that feels like normal moisturiser ...there must be a cheaper alternative! It's usually £55-65 ish and I'd love something amazing for under. ..20?25? Thanks.

la roche posay, it was in an aerosol can. Amazing

Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+
£15 and pretty much always on some kind of offer in Boots, 3 fir 2 at the mo.
Doesn’t make you look like a ghost and can wear it under make up as its not greasy

Always Heliocare ultra gel. It really is the bees knees of facial spfs

Amazing price Mirri !

I gave the lpr another go, and no, somehow felt heavy but my skin felt dry underneath.

The girl in the shop today gave me a sample of their tinted stuff, she's determined I'll like it!

Lots to try here, thanks so much everyone, I'll work my way through them!

LRP one gave me a break out, too greasy. Eucerin was too like sun tan cream for everyday use.

I am using clinique city block which I like but it’s expensive. Might try that body shop one - does it have silicones in it?

GeorgeTheHamster · 26/10/2017 13:21

Anthelios makes me look white. Might try the body shop one then. The Dermologica one is the best I've found, sorry OP.

Northern lass- yes. Dimethicone is about 1/3 of the way down the ingredients list - but I might not have the UK formulation as it wasn't bought there.

Northernlass99 · 26/10/2017 15:02

Thanks. Last time I went into body shop I asked if something had silicones and the lady spent ages reading the ingredients and said no. When I got it home it had tons of dimethicone so she obviously didn’t know that is silicone!

I have been using the Alpha-H daily essential moisturiser spf 50 - I got it in the M&S summer beauty box and I like it a lot

RhiannonOHara · 26/10/2017 15:34

If you mean Dermalogica SkinPerfect primer, I use it too and buy if from eBay; there's always at least one person selling it for less than RRP. There's usually professional large sizes going too, much better than the tiny retail size.

Ididnthearanything · 26/10/2017 15:52

This La Roche Posay Effaclar moisturiser and sunscreen isn't bad for the oily-skinned among us. It's fine for the winter months I think.

I also like Biore, for a to and fro to the office day, not for a full day in the sun.

Neostrata sheer physical is a good one too.Especially for days when you're outside a lot.

lborgia · 26/10/2017 20:49

If be wary of expecting cut price products to be current, and therefore full spf protection. It's actually the dynamic skin recovery spf50 that I was talking about, but my concerns would be the same.

Well, I usually get mine from professional beauticians who've over-ordered or are clearing out. It always looks, from the packaging and from the smell/feel, exactly the same as retail stuff, and the dates are always current. I haven't done an ingredient-by-ingredient check of it against a full-price one, but I'd be quite confident of it matching up.

FlexTimeCheekyFucker · 27/10/2017 10:09

I used the Clinique City Block spf40 but i think they do a 50 as well. It was a great base for makeup.

HaHaHmm · 27/10/2017 10:28

I hear really good things about the Glossier SPF but I assume that you're in the southern hemisphere, OP, and they only ship to USA, Canada and UK atm.

lborgia · 27/10/2017 23:13

Rhiannon I envy you, not my experience at all!
