I bought a zip up fleece housecoat from M&S.

It's dowdy, frumpy and grey. It's not silver coloured as M&S claim.

I could cheerfully live in this for the rest of winter.....Hmm

I rhink I've just disqualified myself from recommending anything to anyone regarding style or fashion. Sad

Wait

Someone has something similar in grey leopard print?

Off to google

Squashit · 05/10/2017 22:38

I am thinking these beauties would make it even more special....

As per previous shoot; morph mask is model's own.

Slippers are quilted bootees from Sainsbury's.

Close up views are of the fleece pile (hopefully) demonstrating the faux quilting.

Model is approximately 5 feet tall and is currently a 14-16.

She is wearing a size 16-18 Standard Length as the gown has to fit over clothes.

I'm wearing a Carole Hochman Leeeeshure Robe at the moment.
One of 3 that I own.
Zipped
Pockets

What's not to love?

Gingernaut · 05/10/2017 23:32

To be honest Gingernaut, I think you looked better in the pink dress.

(You did model the pink dress, didn't you? )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/10/2017 00:26

See that Carole H link ^^

My robes are WORSE Blush For shame

Peppermeant · 06/10/2017 03:50

How did I guess this would have something to do with fleece? Grin

Deathraystare · 06/10/2017 08:37

My fugly thing was from QVC. A sort of cape fleecy thing. For some reason I thought it would be good to chuck on when I go to chuck out rubbish and cannot be bothered to dress properly. Unfortunately it goes up at the sides so I really need something on underneath. It has a nice snowflake pattern on but is still fugly and has to be handwashed in cold water.

Gingernaut · 06/10/2017 09:16

@SilentlyScreamingAgain. Yes. That was me.

That is awesome! All you need is a simple and some rosary beads and you can go out as a nun at Halloween! Grin

TheLongRider · 06/10/2017 09:19

Wimple

Sheusedtobesomeonelse · 06/10/2017 09:22

This is probabaly one of my fave S&B threads ever Grin Grin

But that is very very ugly, but so comfy looking! I prefer trousers myself for warmth Grin

Mrsknackered · 06/10/2017 09:26

I've had one since I was 16! DP spent a long time trying to hide burn it

SophieGiroux · 06/10/2017 09:56

I quite like that one @Nyancat! But does it have any covering over the zip on the inside? I hate the feel of cold metal on my skin if I was to wear it with nothing underneath!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/10/2017 14:01

So many pockets!

So many zips!

So many ugly, quilted husband-repelling robes!

I feel spoilt for choice. [grin[

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 06/10/2017 14:07

Maybe it was the accessories with the pink dress, try them with the robe and reshoot?

Oblomov17 · 06/10/2017 14:49

It looks really ugly. But I do want one. Blush

My MN username refers to a character who slobs around in his dressing gown. This could be the answer to all my prayers.....

Is it really soft and comfy?

Nyancat · 06/10/2017 15:52

@SophieGiroux it has a plastic zip, no cold metal against your naked bits!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 06/10/2017 16:47

You are naked beneath it Nyancat?
Shock
I naturally assumed that anyone who wore a garment like this would also be wearing knee-length bloomers and a whalebone corset like I am.

I always think that being naked underneath your clothes is pretty disgusting and you are asking for trouble! Envy

Gingernaut · 06/10/2017 16:54

It is fabulously soft and comfy, @Oblomov17. Grin

The zip is nylon so there's no cold shock.

Nyancat · 06/10/2017 18:48

@SchadenfreudePersonified never! I am totally covered twixt neck and ankle. Was just confirming that it was plastic zip rather than metal for @sophiegiroux - I am unable to confirm what she wears under hers. 😁

SophieGiroux · 08/10/2017 06:14

Hahaha, thanks for the info! Grin

IsaacCrumbFavouriteSon · 09/10/2017 19:36

I have a black velvet ankle length zip up housecoat - with pockets - from a catalogue. Beat that.

It's comfy and cosy and a shit I do not give. DH calls it The Sack and loathes it passionately.

I'm a bit goth/vintagey day to day so admittedly it jars. But fuck it. Sometimes all you need is a Sack.
