As a child mine was always long (as it is now). In my early teens I got it cut to a shoulder length bob and loved it. I don't mond drying it a couple of times a week. My problem is getting it cut regularly enough to maintain the style.

I was preg (but not showing!!!) with DD3 last time I went to hairdressers. She is 1 this month

That new Posh bob is very popular atm and it seems to suit pretty much everybody, but you do need straighteners if your hair wiggles at all.

southeastastra · 07/04/2007 22:57

and you need a good bone stucture like you're sucking a lemom

LOL I had an internet-proof quiz for which I was enlisting the help of my MN friends (who aren't of course on the internet!!!).

They are company logos which I didn't recognise but lots of MNetters did - thankfully.

I shall go and remove them now as they are a bit obsolete.

30 too old? You are mad! Should Catherine Zeta Jones get a nice bubble perm? Gwyneth Paltrow a lovely short crop? Demi Moore a sensible bob? Gah.

Aloha · 07/04/2007 23:13

Short hair is much, much, much more work IMO.

SlightlyMadSpringBunny · 07/04/2007 23:15

Don't put me off - I need to get it cut., It is full of dead ends and straggly and horrid. I thought loing layers would be harder to care for.

I kind of know what I am letting myself in for with a shoulder length bob....I think

JanH · 07/04/2007 23:16

Yeah, but have you seen Twiggy's, aloha? (I know she is much older than 30 but she really needs to get hers cut and coloured sensibly!)

Nemo2007 · 07/04/2007 23:16

Aloha but I think for someone who is generally stunning then length of hair is irrelecant..someone like me can make me look frumpy[or frumpier] than usual

this time last year i had a hairdresser visit home. She sorted out the boys and DP (all long hair ) then started on me. I left my hair to dry naturally just so she could she what i have to contend with. I had well below upper arms length hair. only it's extremely wavy/curly. Shit i cried when she had finished. She had cropped the lot, shoulder length. DP really couldn't understand what the problem was, all he kept saying was hoe funky/young i looked. I must admit it was extremely easy to manage, it was funky looking and will have it all chopped off again this year.

TwirlyN · 07/04/2007 23:18

I'm a funky 37yo

babygrand · 07/04/2007 23:24

I too have long hair, almost on my waist. Friends keep telling me I'd look younger if I had it cut, but it's fairly low maintenance yet versatile! Also, I'm scared that if I get a short haircut, my 2 dds will want their hair cut too, and I like their hair long.

babygrand · 07/04/2007 23:25

I'm 39 today! Maybe next year...

schnapps · 07/04/2007 23:36

I've had long hair for years (down to bra strap) and I always said that when I got to 30 it would be time to have it cut shorter. Now the time has come (recently turned 30) and have an appointment booked for a re-style next week - eeek!

Gobbledigook · 07/04/2007 23:47

I am 34 and I'm growing mine again. I'm not too old for long hair

Pinkchampagne · 07/04/2007 23:48

I'm 34 & I have long hair, which I am not ready to have chopped yet!

fuzzywuzzy · 07/04/2007 23:53

I have below the bum hair, it's actually in very good condition, I recently had long layers put in and it feels lighter, and has more body to it.

I don't think I'd get mine cut really short as my hair is curly and I suspect it would be a whole lot more work shorter then now, currently I do just wash, condition and air dry, I've listened to the girls on my office discussing straightening their hair and it's not something I want to have to do with my hair.

I turn thirty next year....don't want to talk about it!!!

TwirlyN · 08/04/2007 00:02

All you 30 somethings, get those greys choppped, who are you kidding.. You're women.

lou33 · 08/04/2007 00:04

i'm 40, it's now just below my shoulders, i got about 3 inches taken off about a month ago

hunkermunker · 08/04/2007 00:05

Mine's to my bra strap so fairly long. Can't be arsed to get it cut as regularly as a shorter style would require.
