Help, it's me the 40 year old who wasn't sure about dress with boots for evening out! Urgent style advice required (pics attached!)

Don't want to be accused of double posting as (inaccurately) happened to me y'day... But need urgent advice and don't want this to come up on my old thread.

I'm the 40 year old with the new cocoon dress who doesn't know if she can get away with ankle boots...

Well I've only just managed to try it all on (leaving in half an hour) and losing my nerve with the ankle boots thing.

I'd not really remembered JUST how scrawny my ankles are. As in they don't remotely fill the boot. Which I think looks silly.

So what do you think? I've posted pics of the boots/tights combo from 2 angles, one of which shows the skinny ankle issue. I also have massive feet which I think makes it worse.

I've also posted on with a grey suede platform heel (very casual in style) in case anyone thinks this looks better. I accept that it may look as if I've forgotten to put the bottom hald of my outfit on, dressed that way. But it negates the scrawny ankle thing.

Please overlook the tip of a bedroom, it's not normally like that but I'm in a massive hurry and have just chucked stuff everywhere!!!

Thanks everyone.

FYI there are NO other options unless I wear trainers. My other ankle boots make my ankles look even more bonkersly skinny and all other heels too formal.

Oh and sorry the pics are so dark, that's all the light I have in bedroom... hard to see just how skinny my ankle looks in the first one!

Oh I prefer the grey.
You look lovely either way tho Smile

JessiCake · 27/09/2017 19:23

you're lovely sparkle thank you. I love those grey shoes, had them over a decade and they are very flattering, a very casual style which is the only reason I treid them (in a panic!)

Grey ones are much nicer

Kenworthington · 27/09/2017 19:24

O way have you got a problem with your ankles- I have gigantic cankles which is way harder. The shoes look all kinds of wrong. The ankle boots look much cooler- and imo look muscular better with a bit of looseness around the top of the boot. It's a good look! Enjoy your eve

Disabrie22 · 27/09/2017 19:24

I would kill for your skinny ankles - wear the grey

Kenworthington · 27/09/2017 19:24

Muscular= much. Ffs

Gatekeeper · 27/09/2017 19:25

Ohh to havw slender, well turned ankles
Grey shoes DONT work With that outfit. What do the ankle boots look like with black ankles socks ruffled down?

TheMasterNotMargarita · 27/09/2017 19:25

The boots are fine. The shoes are not.
I too am blessed with huge feet and skinny legs and ankles.
DH calls me Coco the clown when I wear my converse. I've given up caring as I don't really want to amputate my toes.
Have fun!

Kenworthington · 27/09/2017 19:25

I wish the boots were grey. Why does no one else like the boots?!!

Floisme · 27/09/2017 19:25

I think thin ankles look great in ankle boots. Wear them.

DaisyChainsForever · 27/09/2017 19:25

I like the boots!

suchatiredbunny · 27/09/2017 19:25

I think either look fine (and am very jealous of your dainty ankles!) Go with whichever you're more comfortable in or you'll be fretting in the back of your mind whilst you're there.

suchatiredbunny · 27/09/2017 19:26

Though if pressed, I'd say Boots!

JessiCake · 27/09/2017 19:26

Thank you... argh, two to one!! I love the ankle boot look, much cooler I think but maybe it's just a no-no for the pathetic of ankle! Just looked at Hush website and (admittedly stunning) model on there looks amazing in ankle boots cos they don't gape. Maybe I should ahve found a new ankle boot with less of a gape :( but no time for that now!

JessiCake · 27/09/2017 19:27

OK hang on I may jsut have time to post a pic of alternative ankle boot option which IS grey (still gapes but in a different way...) bear with me...

Thanks so mcuh ladies.

Boots!

handsfree · 27/09/2017 19:28

I like the boots!!

Floisme · 27/09/2017 19:28

Hold your nerve and wear the boots. I think the shoes look wrong.
Yes I have voted twice Smile

EllaHen · 27/09/2017 19:29

The boots look fantastic. Honestly.

PersisFord · 27/09/2017 19:30

Boots. Shoes are gorgeous....but boots look better

moaningmummyoftwo · 27/09/2017 19:30

I'm voting boots. Grey is not the best choice IMO

Paintbox · 27/09/2017 19:31

Nothing at all wrong with your ankles not filling the boots

MyNewHobbyIsGin · 27/09/2017 19:31

Any ankle boot, any colour, any gape.

There, I've stated my position Grin

EllaHen · 27/09/2017 19:31

So, the boots are Hush you say ....
