URGENT needed for Sunday! Dress code white & a hint of gold

HELP!!! Truly desperate! DH has just phoned to say we've been ordered invited to his super wealthy boss's house for party at the weekend. Think really really wealthy, blinged up to the nines. Saying no is not an option.

I have nothing in my wardrobe that meets this dress code. Nothing. I have fortunately just lost weight, and am about a size 12 maybe 14, 5'8", blonde hair, mid-50s. I've looked everywhere online for something white that I could put a little gold on - eg., jewellery, sandals whatever. So far, the only thing I've found that doesn't look like a lace dress (hate those), or a wedding dress, is this jumpsuit. What do you think? Do a gradual tan over the next couple of days so I don't look like a ghost, or does someone (oh God please) have some other suggestions. Willing to pay up to £400.

It's in the south of France, just to ramp up the looking good pressure.

Arg I just spotted that it's silver not gold.

DH in a white suit? I don't think I'd be able to keep a straight face . Great idea though. I like the dress, but just a tad too short for me to be comfortable. I really appreciate your looking though - any other ideas welcomed......

Reiss has the nicest tailored white jumpsuit, much nicer than the one you linked (sorry!) I can't link on my phone.

Those sarees are wonderful, but all take 9 days to ship.

Oooh Poverty like the look of that! What do you think, put a gold sequinny vest underneath, or a gold bra, with loads of tape? Or nothing, loads of tape and just a gold clutch?

Ted Baker also has a dress called Alfena which is white and mint with a gold

I think a silk cami underneath with some lacy around the bust would be pretty. But I think it probably does up- just the model

I don't like what they've put it with in the website but I think with strappy gold sandals and gold clutch it could look very chic.

I think the Reiss jumpsuit is gorgeous too but having not long since returned from a wedding in the south of France my comment would be it could be a bit too hot!!

PosyBoo that Diane v. Furstenberg dress is lovely - I had seen it on an earlier desperate sweep through and wondered about it. OK with gold sandals, do you think? At least with the Outnet I'm fairly confident I'd get it on time - I'm in the Netherlands, so I have to check delivery on everything. Quite like the Jil Sander, but probably too plain.

Bumble I've had a look at Needle & Thread's main website, and I saw that one. It's OK. It's just very not me. However, needs must and all that, so it goes on the list of possibles.

bookbook - too plain, I think. Can't glam that up enough. (I don't want to out myself, but think of having to fit in with females of the most glamorous of the glamorous nationalities).

sashh - in the Netherlands, so I'm not going to risk delivery issues. It's also a lot of gold, and truly not something I'd ever wear again.

Should I take it that no one really likes the jumpsuit I linked to from the Wolf & Badger website, by Outline? Any opinions - yay or nay?

Mumatoo I saw that dress from Reiss earlier and I absolutely love it. However. It's bodycon, and although I've lost weight, I am essentially still kind of pear shaped, and I just don't think I could get away with it. Bugger it. I also love that Coast dress, but the colour is so white, that it would truly wipe me out. I got hardly any sun this summer, and although I'm going to try to get some fake tan going between now and Sunday, it'll barely scratch the surface of what needs to be done. As it is, I'm hastily getting de-furred, de-clawed and polished, and getting my roots done. DH won't recognise me by Sunday .
