The really have dialled down the crazy for Autumn/Winter 17/18

I bought this rose gold tunic top.

And look!! They've turned that dress the right way round!!!

That is the blancmange horror isn't it? Maybe they dyed the million or do they had left over.

The dress still looks hideous to me, sorry.

The only thing I've seen that I love is a plain grey cashmere jumper.

Yeah, I'm not seeing much difference between the pink horror and the red one. It's the gravy dippers (fluted sleeves) that do it for me.

There some frocky horrors going on. They haven't fired the zany designers, but their coats are good, there's a wearable selection of tops and trousers and a lot of the knitwear is fabby.

I saw this monstrosity the other day and couldn't help myself from shrieking in horror at it. One of the floor staff looked as if she totally agreed.

The pictures don't convey the full horror of the fabric.

There are some pieces that make me wonder if free LSD is one of the staff benefits.

I saw this in store & it looks quite nice - but would be better if the base colour was cream not beige/fawn.

I was in M&S today and saw a dress I thought 'oooh that's nice'. I didn't mean too, the option just accosted me.

Oh I like that cashmere jumper. I was in this morning and saw nothing, just bought food as usual. I did buy some nice boots last autumn so I'm holding out for new stock to arrive.

What the fudge is with these pouffy out sleeves? No one liked them last season yet they're back again!

Well, I think they're learning the lesson that the summer taught them.

Light, floaty print. Check

Asymmetric hem. Check.

Cold shoulder. Check

Unnecessary flounces. Check

Frills. Check.

But there is nice stuff too.

Try to see beyond the crazy......

Things I wanted and couldn't find -

plain black work jacket

plain black work skirt

plain black cropped wide leg trousers or culottes

The above iideally not 100% polyester with 100% polyester lining

plain grey jumper that wasn't as expensive as cashmere but wasn't acrylic or that awful cashmillon, or whatever they call it

a nice leather handbag

some sort of cotton nightie

Couldn't find anything.

Polyester trousers were everywhere.

The linen mix ones were too scratchy and casual and the cotton ones were simply jeans.

I came out with two pairs of trousers and two really nice shirts yesterday. There were a few nice things.
The trousers were Per Una .
Still too many flouncy sleeves and too much embellishment though.

Thanks, Best. Looks as if Per Una actually have some cotton ones. These are a lovely colour but the fabric is absolutely awful.

I love their cotton and silk mix fabric but the prints are generally horrible. I can't understand why they don't make lots more of these in plain colours or more current prints.

You were right about the neckline on those T-shirts by the way Remus. I'm wearing the grey one now and looking down I can see it's gone really baggy.
