I'm short with stumpy little arms and legs.

Even the short length trousers need a good 4-6 inches taking off.

No the catfrommjapan they were blush blush blush blush blush blush blush blush blush blush blush blush
Per Una.

I just walkedd past them and saw the shape and I thought, I bet they would look good on me.´ And they did.

I did try on a few other pairs. They all looked as bad as every other pair of white trousers or jeans have ever looked on me.

The bought pair are in my cupboard now. I will have to put them on again to see in the morning.

Remus - horses for courses. Maybe I look crap in them but I don´t think I do.

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:16

Great. I shall have to blush even more now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 26/08/2017 23:18

I'm sure you don't!

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:19

BTW don´t want to start a thread about a thread, but I was in Next the other day and bought a five pack of those socks that don´t show in converse etc and they are (whisper) really quite good.

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:19

I might! I have been deceived before!

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2017 23:24

Grin I'm sure you look fab in them.

(I'm declaring a small war on body negativity, having been radicalised on the maxi-dress thread.)

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2017 23:25

I love that "I've been deceived before." It sounds so glamorously heart-weary. Like Dusty Springfield singing: "I've been wrong before."

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:26

Ooo going to find it.. I love a maxi dress...

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:26

PS -think I might love you for comparing me to Dusty even fleetingly.

thecatfromjapan · 26/08/2017 23:27

Oh you bad, bad, white jeans from M and S! How can you be such heartbreakers!!

MynewnameisKy · 26/08/2017 23:28

Margaritasbythesea I was in Next yesterday and stopped to look at a dress. Dd2 said "Mum that's not a dress. It's a curtain with sleeves." Grin

She had a point!

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:38

Oh come on Mynewname - I said socks!

margaritasbythesea · 26/08/2017 23:42

thecat - I shall let you know if they are true heartbreakers in the morning-

Trills · 27/08/2017 12:55

I did get the beauty box, because I love a box of things that I don't want or need, apparently.

I did recently buy a jumper with ridiculous sleeves, but it was from H&M and under £20, and I don't mind if I go of it after one winter.

I don't think I will though because it lets me hide my hands in my sleeves like Varys

*off

TumbleBee · 27/08/2017 13:08

I don't know where they're sourcing their fabrics. They must have a Tardis in head office because I haven't seen polyester like that since the early 80s. So many of the dresses in my local shop have that weird stiff manmade fabric feel - it wouldn't matter what the shape was, the thought of it next to my skin ruled it out.

Although, interestingly, I did spot some suede slides in the shoe dept that were deadringers for the sell-out ones from the mid 90s.

thecatfromjapan · 27/08/2017 13:11

Kochikoo I tried that coat on but couldn't find a size that was small enough in the shoulders for me but still closed across my bust. I think that's an issue for me with a lot of M and S clothing, tbh. I like a nice trapeze line. Grin

MavisFlumpTheFairy · 27/08/2017 13:15

All I wanted in M&S was a nice navy blue wool/wool mix/cotton sweater, long sleeves.
Not. A. Chance.
☹️😡

Gingernaut · 27/08/2017 13:22

The crackle drape dress was nice on the hanger.

This, in the same fabric; not so much. Cue another model questioning her life choices......Hmm
