I've finished with Mitchum deodorant

I've bought this for years as I thought it was more effective, last year it seems to have been reformulated and now it doesn't work! 30 mins after showering and using it, it smells rank, not sweaty just rank, bought some 59p stuff in desperation from Aldi yesterday, and it's worked fine. Anyone else noticed this?

Yes! i used to think it was the most effective but the last time i bought it it was terrible! Now i just pick up whatever is cheapest and it works much better!

dementedpixie · 17/08/2017 14:54

Mitchum not great for me either. Thought I was strange as everyone raves about it. Any suggestions for a sweaty person?

Queenioqueenio · 17/08/2017 14:54

I forgot to use it on Sunday and still smelled better by the end of the day using Nothing !

Yes! And have also had the same with Sanex more recently - it just stopped working on me. I've now gone back to unperfumed RightGuard.

PatMullins · 17/08/2017 14:57

Yeah I stopped using it a while ago for the same reason. Disappointing!

Dawndonnaagain · 17/08/2017 14:59

dd sweats profusely but no longer uses Mitchum, which was wonderful for years. She's told me not to bother anymore, says it no longer does the job. She's using Sure solid mens at the moment.

sunbird17 · 17/08/2017 15:01

Oh no! I've just stockpiled for myself and DH......

GraceGrape · 17/08/2017 15:02

Have always used it. The roll-on is now rubbish but I find the stick ok.

Enb76 · 17/08/2017 15:02

I used to use Mitchum but have stopped cos it now seems a bit useless and smelly - am currently on a crystal thingy that you put water on (or use directly after shower like what I does! I like it very much but am not particularly sweaty anyway.

MusicToMyEars800 · 17/08/2017 15:05

I use the dove Green tea and cucumber one, it's lovely smells fresh all day, can't say it particularly keeps me completely dry, but definitely smells lovely and lasts, also the sure invisible one is good.

ihatethecold · 17/08/2017 15:07

The stick Mitchum still works fine for me

LBOCS2 · 17/08/2017 15:08

I found that it stopped working for me a little while ago. Currently using Triple Dry which I'm finding to be very effective.

NannyR · 17/08/2017 15:08

I find the crystal deodorant works well for me too. I sweat a lot and normal anti perspirant doesn't keep me that dry or fresh, the crystal one (rubbed on straight after a shower) keeps me completely odour free, but it doesn't actually stop you sweating.

HappyAxolotl · 17/08/2017 15:08

Mitchum is weird. I find that every so often it stops working and I have to take a few months break from it. Then it works well when I go back to it. Googling turns up lots of users who have found the same thing happening.

Avon On Duty used to be amazing but now it takes forever to dry and doesn't even work after all that.

I'll try that men's Sure solid one, thanks Dawndonna.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/08/2017 15:09

It's vile since re formulating, utter rubbish.

I use Right guard total defence stick now which is great.

onemouseplace · 17/08/2017 15:10

Oh - I've had a few days recently where I've definitely had stinky pits and been wondering whether I'd remembered to apply my roll on Mitchum - which I have used for years with no problems.

alltouchedout · 17/08/2017 15:11

It still works for me, but it also burns my skin after a few weeks of use and my armpits become red, rough and sore. It's annoying.

Madbengalmum · 17/08/2017 15:15

Mitchum is rubbish, try the sure maximum protection deodorant, far,far better imho.

TittyGolightly · 17/08/2017 15:16

Pitrok.

magicstar1 · 17/08/2017 15:17

I've noticed I was a bit stinky a couple of times recently and thought I'd forgotten to put on the Mitchum...must change to something else instead.

NomDePlumeReloaded · 17/08/2017 15:18

They must've reformulated it a couple of years ago. I find it makes me smell sweaty these days. I'm wearing the the Nivea no white marks stuff at the moment. It seems to be working

leccybill · 17/08/2017 15:18

I did a product test for the Sure Maximum Protection roll-on and thought it was really good. Bought the men's one for DH and he thought it was brilliant too. £5 though.

PNGirl · 17/08/2017 15:22

I stopped using it about 5 years ago and switched to Dove because it just stopped working.

littlemissneela · 17/08/2017 15:26

I thought it was just me it didn't work on! I have stopped buying the solid stick because the last cm or so is unusable due to the twist up stick and I am fed up of wasting so much. I use Dove or Sure solid roll on and they seem ok.

Racheyg · 17/08/2017 15:50

This is so interesting as I use the Mitchum stick (powder fresh ) and recently I've smelt alittle musty after a few hours.
