I've finished with Mitchum deodorant

I've bought this for years as I thought it was more effective, last year it seems to have been reformulated and now it doesn't work! 30 mins after showering and using it, it smells rank, not sweaty just rank, bought some 59p stuff in desperation from Aldi yesterday, and it's worked fine. Anyone else noticed this?

I've given up on Mitchum as well. I had the gel recently, it refused to dry and didn't stop me whiffing. Sure Max or the Dove equivalent are my current favourites. I've just realised I forgot to put any on this morning (child awake too early) and despite spending all day in a black suit in a hot, stuffy building, I'm still ok, so it must do 2 days if necessary.

I've stopped using it too because it stopped working. I'm now using a charcoal powder from Lush which is amazing!

Butterymuffin · 17/08/2017 20:36

I'm still finding it OK but like a pp I stockpile from when it's on offer so don't think I've got to the new formula yet. Pity as it's always worked better than anything else for me. The unscented version has been very hard to get hold of for a while too and that's my preference.

Buttery - you can have mine - I bought more and they're crrrrrap

Mrs9C · 17/08/2017 21:04

it's never worked for me, couldn't even use the tin, can't understand why people rave about it.

UnaPalomaBlanca · 17/08/2017 21:26

Driclor, once every 5 days.

The Aldi 59p emergency one has lasted well today, no hint of a whiff, but I haven't done my usual packed out sardine style commute or stuffy office today.
It's the Mitchum roll on purple label 'shower fresh' which has finally made me see the light. It's being binned now.

Yep I used to love it but crap now. Stress protect by Nivea is fab.

MimsyBorogroves · 17/08/2017 23:13

Thank you for posting this. Always used Mitchum but recently I've been noticing I smell dreadful.

Just got some of the £5 Sure stuff.

Dumbledoresgirl · 17/08/2017 23:17

I have long held the belief that all deodorants, if used long enough, stop working. Then, if you go back to them after using something else, they work again. I went years, alternating between Mum and Dove, then reached an embarrassing stage in my life when the slightest stress made me sweat buckets and become whiffy in minutes. It was awfully embarrassing. So I started using Mitchum, maybe 2 years ago, and it has been great for me. I haven't noticed any falling off in performance. Long may it continue!

Funny coming across this have been experiencing similar
Not fun in the middle of a 12 hour shift in plastic aprons in the middle of summer on a ward realising the smell is you
I'll be buying something new tomorrow
A lot of deodorant makes me itch mind you so hopefully find one that doesn't

MEZ59 · 18/01/2024 06:55

Yes been using Mitchum for ever but I'm done if they don't go back to old formula I'm never going to buy it again, STINKS.
