Is it ever OK to wear open toe sandals with tights?

I'm tempted at the moment - it's too chilly for bare legs and I've just bought some really comfy open toe sandal - wedge type things.

Am utterly unfashionable but want to know if I'd get sniggered at by you lot (you lot being my marker for what all the trendy girlies at work will really be thinking...).

totaleclipse · 27/03/2007 22:17

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DONT DO IT

Dottydot · 27/03/2007 22:18

That's what I like - a straightforward answer!!

Right - will put all thoughts of combining tights + mules/sandals and will wait for warmer weather to arrive (although in Manchester I could be waiting a while...)

no unless you get those special ones with no toes.

Dottydot · 27/03/2007 22:18

I only had one "NO!" when I did my reply..!

This is the fastest response I've ever had to anything - I feel ashamed for even thinking about it..!

Is OK if you are over 75.

maisym · 27/03/2007 22:29

if you want to why not?

moondog · 27/03/2007 22:30

Dot,your 'comfy/open toed mules' sound well dodgy.
Post us a link so that we can judge.

controlfreakyfluffybunny · 27/03/2007 22:31

dont listen to her dotty...... repeat after me NO.... NEVER..... etc.

hecciesmum · 28/03/2007 15:25

are the open toe or peep toe? Peep toe can work with fishnets....sometimes...but otherwise no. Iether that or you buy some open toed tights...i think pretty polly do them

MrsBadger · 28/03/2007 15:29

just reinforcing the never message...

bozza · 28/03/2007 15:31

I wore peeptoes with fishnets yesterday. They are very much a shoe with just the toe missing though.

MissGolightly · 28/03/2007 15:33

I think fishnets can be ok depending on the shoe - not normal tights obviously.

littleEasterlapin · 28/03/2007 15:33

buy these

imaginaryfriend · 28/03/2007 15:35

I disagree, I think it depends on what kind of look you're going for. I've got some Rocket Dog sandals that look fantastic with funky woolly tights.

Do what you like! Who needs rules?!

SoupDreggon · 28/03/2007 15:43

Oh nonononononoNONONONOOOOOO!

pinkchampagne · 28/03/2007 15:44

No, don't do it!!!!

Tinker · 28/03/2007 15:53

How do those open-toed tights stay on? Doesn't your foot sort of burst through? Won't the tight roll up your foot?

MrsBadger · 28/03/2007 15:56

they have a loop for your big toe iirc
like a flipflop

still not good though

Tinker · 28/03/2007 15:58

Hmm. Am curious. Hate the bared legged season

Tinker · 28/03/2007 15:58

bare even

SoupDreggon · 28/03/2007 15:59

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

cathcart · 28/03/2007 16:03
