Is it ever OK to wear open toe sandals with tights?

I'm tempted at the moment - it's too chilly for bare legs and I've just bought some really comfy open toe sandal - wedge type things.

Am utterly unfashionable but want to know if I'd get sniggered at by you lot (you lot being my marker for what all the trendy girlies at work will really be thinking...).

Oh such a shame we can't have a link. Yesterday I wore tights with my new toe post slippers. But was not seen doing so by any adult eyes - DH was away and I couldn't be bothered to take my tights off after work. So only DS and DD to observe.
